His Mum Doesn't Like You, (PART 2, ZAYN, LIAM.):
Zayn: You lie in Zayn's old bed in his old room. Your hands curling round the sides of your book, making the crinkling sound that brings joy to your ears. The bedside light keeps flickering, putting you off your book ever so slightly. You've had to re-read about seven pages because you can't stop thinking about what Trish said. Even though Zayn defended you her words don't stop cycling round your head. Zayn's in the same position as you, propped up by his pillow but on his phone instead of reading. His eyes skimming over something. There's really no point in you reading, you're distracted and can't concentrate. You put your bookmark in and place your book beside you, sighing a little bit. You clear your throat ever so slightly and turn your head to Zayn, "thanks." You say to him quietly. He locks his phone and his eyes meet yours, "for what?" he says as he takes your hand in his, linking your fingers together. "for what you said earlier. I appreciate it." You smile slightly, trying not to bring yourself to tears. He kisses your linked fingers, "don't thank me. Even if it's my mum who says stuff like that I wont tolerate it." Zayn can still sense something about you; sense an uneasy feeling surrounding you. "Don't let it bother you though boo, you know I love you right?" You continue to look into his eyes, "of course. It just doesn't feel right having your mum not like me. I don't know. I'm just over thinking." You shift your eyes away from Zayn's but hold his hand tighter. "It'll be fine in the morning. Just sleep and stop thinking about it, it was a blip and it'll be fine." He leans over and kisses your cheek, lingering for a little bit afterwards. He quickly unlinks his hand from yours and clicks his light off and you do the same. Afterwards the room was left in darkness, the only sound heard was the rustling of the duvets as the two of you settled down. Soon the room goes quiet, Zayn's hand finds yours again and he traces circles on the back of your hand. A thought pops into your head, even if Trish doesn't find you the best person on the earth, you've got Zayn.
Liam: A year. A year you and Liam have been together, things haven't been plain sailing but you've managed to work through things. You wonder if this situation will be another one where you and Liam manage to work things out. Maybe not. Considering the way Liam was back at the house says a lot. He didn't even say anything. You couldn't see him; he could have been nodding to agree with his mum. He was doing the exact opposite though. He was shaking his head. Pacing around the room as he thought of something to say to his mum. You stop walking down a road and sit on the nearest wall. Piecing things together. Karen seemed fine with you at dinner, when you went out for a walk earlier she was interested in what you did at school. You don't understand. A buzz from your pocket interrupts your thoughts; you pull your phone out and see Liam's number on the screen, calling you. You swipe your thumb across the screen, answering the call; you place your phone to your head. "Hello?" you say quickly, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear. "Oh god, (Y/N), you're okay." Liam sounds out of breath. You can hear the sound of the car in the background. "I'm wondering where you are. Do you want to tell me?" He sounds upset too. You sniffle a little bit. Trying to pull back a tear. "I'm just down from your house, at a little clearing near a pond." A sigh is heard from the other end of the line, he says where you are over again to himself but then you hear his mum in the back, "I know where that is." You sigh, what's his mum going to say? You hang up, not knowing what to do. You just wait, letting the wind wisp leaves up into the air past your face. You follow a few of them but then give up as they go out of sight. A familiar sound comes into hearing before you see Liam's car turn around the corner. You still stay sat on the wall. Liam parks a few cars up and then jumps out, you stand up as you see him running towards you. He takes you in his arms and whispers, "I'm so sorry." You sniffle and smile, he pulls away from the hug and you're faced with Karen. You smile at her, you weren't mad at her in the slightest. You think she's the best woman in the world, you look up to her. "Hi, (Y/N), I'm so sorry about what I said back at the house." Karen links her hands together as her eyes become glossy. "I didn't mean to harm you, I was-" You smile at her then walk over to her and hug her. "I understand what you meant." You say to her, rubbing her back gently, "I was just worried about Liam, I felt a little bit guilty I suppose." You say as she pulls away, she takes her hands in yours and sways them a little bit, "No, you don't need to feel guilty. I need to feel guilty. I'm so sorry." She speaks. You just nod. Not knowing what to do. You hug her again, this time Liam joining. We worked through it. You think to yourself, feeling happy.
