Connor is very surprised to find his mother in her gym gear, mixing up a green smoothie in the early morning,
"I've cooked you some poached eggs and salmon. It's on the side," his mother kisses him on the cheek and nods her head behind her.
Mumbling a good morning, Connor moves to take the plate and watches as his mother begins fluffing her in the mirror,
"What are you doing?" Connor asks furrowing his brow,
"I'm just making sure I look okay," his mother replies rather surprised,
"It's the gym," Connor replies opening a drawer to grab a fork. Before his mother responds, there's a honk from outside and her eyes light up in a way Connor hasn't seen for weeks.
Apparently flustered, his mother grabs her gym bag and kisses him once more on the cheek before heading out of the door.
A while later, his father stumbles down the stairs looking bloated and pink with a hazy faraway look. The smell of beer hits Connor's nostrils and he makes him a glass of water and some scrambled eggs,
"Thanks," his dad mutters as he gulps down the water, "let me guess your mum has gone to the gym," he states sarcastically,
"Nothing wrong with her getting into shape," Connor defends stabbing his food. His father groans before taking the plate into the lounge.
