"Well well well, what do we have here?" Razzardus said as he walked into the room. His voice sounded playful but his eyes shot fury towards me.
"Ahhh Razzardus. What a pleasant surprise!" I said casually as I returned to my seat.
"Yes, a surprise indeed. The whole of Leandre has been turned upside down in order to find you, who would have guessed that you were in the underworld this whole time." he said sourly
"I believe I have you to thank for that. Sorry to disappoint you but I'm not planning on carrying your little monster inside of me any time soon." I said with a chuckle
Razzardus shot ice daggers with his eyes towards the vampire King, causing him to cower away. He obviously didn't like the fact that I knew so much about his plans.
"Princess Reyna, you have to believe me when I tell you that I had absolutely nothing to do with this incident whatsoever. " he started to explain but I cut him off
"I know Razzardus, jeez calm down." I said waving his explanations away with my hand
"Your little helpers here didn't have any idea I was even royal. In fact that little troll just told me to stop living in a fairy tale when I tried to explain once again what Ryan would do if he found them" I continued
The troll looked scared enough to pee himself at that moment, just realizing that I was actually telling the truth this whole time.
"Not that it would have made any difference if you had kidnapped me or not. A war is still going to be declared. I'm going to take back my kingdom once and for all Razzardus." I said serious
"If you wish for it to be this way then I have no choice but to return fire. Are you sure I could do nothing to change your mind? We could join forces. This war is only going to cause unnecessary deaths. " he asked
"No death is ever necessary Razzardus, there you have just pointed out why I would never be able to rule with you and why I would never be able to let my people be ruled by you. You have to return to the underworld where you belong." I said determined
"And I'm not leaving the throne willingly in your hands after all the people that lost their lives as we fought to gain this land" he said trying to play on my emotions.
"Then there truly is only one way to determine this isn't there?" I asked ending up right where we started
"I suppose the next time we meet will be on the battle field then" Razzardus said with a sigh. In his eyes however I could detect the excitement that the prospect, to get rid of me once and for all, held for him.
"I suppose so," I replied casually
He turned to leave "Oh Razzardus" I stopped him. I didn't know what to say but I had to do something that would make him stay just a little longer.
"Yes?" he asked when I didn't continue.
"will you be a dear and give us a lift home?" Zanne chipped in quickly "I am sure that these gentleman would have no problem with that right?" Zanne asked with a giggle
"Of course not. And allow me to offer my sincere apologies to you. This was never meant to happen, I just hope that one day there will be something that I could do to repay you for the horrible situation you have been put in" The Vampire King said with a couple of energetic head nods from the troll next to him
"Apology accepted, but on one condition." I said firmly, looking serious
"Anything" the King quickly assured. It wasn't his fault that he had to do this. He was forced. And to tell you the truth I would probably have done the same thing if I was in his position.
"You are to personally escort me home and stay for dinner." I said letting the smile break through.
"It would be an honour" he said sincerely.
I saw Razzardus sending a warning to the Vampire King with his eyes. Warning him that he had his daughter. Anger fired up inside me at the audacity of Razzardus.
'Ryan?' I said in my head as we made our way to Leandre.
'Rey? What happened? Are you okay? ' he asked in a hurry. Concern clear in his voice.
' I'm fine Ryan. Do you have her?' I asked
'I have her. And we have a few more dead copiers on our hands. I really should stop breaking people from jail' he said with a small chuckle.
'Nah, I like it. Especially the dead copier part. Razzardus is escorting us home and so is the King of the Vampires. Take her somewhere safe until Razardus is gone.' I explained
'Just be careful okay? I don't trust Razzardus especially not after the declaration of war this morning' he said nervous
'Don't worry. We'll be fine. Razzardus is just happy that I can clear his name of kidnapping a royal.' I said with a sigh gaining the attention of Razzardus
"I suspect you were talking to my good friend King Ryan" Razzardus interrupted my conversation. I looked where he was pointing to see about 200 guards marching towards us. Wow when Ryan said he gathered his men he sure meant that he gathered every last one of them.
"Attack!" I heard a command being yelled to the army before the entire horde of guards came rushing to save me and Zanne.
"Stop!" I yelled. The roaring crowd however drowned out my voice.
"I said stop!" I yelled again. The guards were quickly approaching.
I saw Razzardus clench his fist. Before he could attack I was in front of him. Warning him with my eyes to back off. He glared at me before backing down. Satisfied I concentrated on my wings and flew into the air. It felt wonderful to be able to have them again after two days.
I immediately caught the attention of the old General that seemed to be leading this little army. I completely forgot about them! I lifted my hands and through a light wind over the crowed causing them to stop or stumble over those in front of them. The crowd went quiet
"Your services will not be needed any more. Return to the castle at once" I yelled out mostly to the old general. Before I knew it everyone was marching away.
I landed in front of an awed King "How were you able to stop them all with one attack?" King Adrian asked
This resulted into a snort from Razzardus "If you thought that was impressive, you should see her at full power. Or at least at half." he said. He sounded so sure of himself. He definitely didn't see me as a threat
"You... You mean you didn't even use half of your power on that wind?" he asked shocked
"Actually I didn't use any of my power. I only used my magic to call on the power of the wind." I said with a small smile. It did me good to know that all my hard work wasn't for nothing.
As soon as we got in the castle Zanne went rushing of to find her soul mate. Leaving me struggling to get rid of Razzardus
"So I invited you here for a reason" I told Master Adrian once I got rid of Razzardus.
I've never been in a war before, but I couldn't believe how civil we were. In a few days a war would break out and either me or Razzardus would be killed and even though we knew that we were each others greatest enemies, we still somehow managed to act like long lost friends.
"Listen, I can understand if you want to kill me for what I did, but you don't understand. I didn't have a choice!" he said looking a little panicked once we reached the study
"I know" I said but he just continued talking
"He has my daughter, and I couldn't... wait what? What do you mean you know?" he asked confused.
Right at that moment Ryan came rushing through the door. The relief on his face almost made me want to cry. I hadn't realized how much I've missed him until now.
"Rey!" He screamed in joy as he rushed to take me in his arms. "I was so worried" he said as he pulled me closer to him
"You should know by now that I always win, even though it looks a little hopeless" I said with a wink.
He replied with a long urgent kiss. It felt like he was trying to convince himself that I was actually there but I didn't mind. I kissed him back telling him just how much I missed him.
We were interrupted when King Adrian cleared his throat. I looked up irritated. Seriously? It was just getting good. Oh who am I kidding it's always good. I thought with a chuckle.
"Right! Back to business. Ryan, I'd like you to meet King Adrian of the Vampires and vice versa." I quickly introduced them. I was almost just as eager as he would have been if he knew for them to reunite.
Ryan looked at King Adrian with anger. I knew he would be. King Adrian did after all kidnap me. They stood there with Ryan throwing daggers at Adrian with his eyes and Adrian looking extremely guilty and afraid.
"Okay so you found her?" I asked Ryan breaking up their little staring contest.
"I did" Ryan confirmed
"Is she here?" I asked excited.
"She is. I brought her in once that overgrown lizard was gone. I took her to Mom." he said venomously. I found it quite funny when he talked about Razzardus as an overgrown lizard. He could be quite the creative one.
"Well lets go then" I said ushering them out the door and to Queen Lilliana's suite.
The door was barely open before a girl pounced on King Adrian. He hugged back, not quite knowing what was going on. As she pulled away and he saw her red hair, green eyes and heart shaped face recognition flashed in his eyes.
"Ariel?" he asked not sure if he could believe his eyes.
"Hey daddy, did you miss me?" the joy at seeing her father again bringing a rosy glow to her cheeks
It was a beautiful reunion. There was crying and laughing and a lot of thanking going around. We ordered a big buffet to be made and celebrated the reunion of these two people.
I even saw a new love starting to blossom as King Adrian met the old General's daughter, Geraldine. Everything was perfect. Happiness filled the air.
Our hearts were filled with praises to the Lord. Who knew I would be able to help so many people in Leandre? I just hoped that when the final battle arrived that I would be able to help my people too.
I truly love writing to you guys. Especially when I come up to see new fans and new votes. Thanks so much. I think the story is almost coming to an end though. I hope you keep reading until then. Enjoy!
