BUFFY'S POV
'You're so cute when you do that' Spike tells me
'Do what?' I reply
'When you smile' he giggles
'Oh stop!' I laugh 'I'm trying to get ready, can't you see?' I spin and my dress floats around me
'All I see is you being gorgeous' he smirks
'You know you could get ready too, Giles will be here soon, we have to pick him up from the airport and then we have reservations at 8' I explain for the fifth time
'Babe I am ready' Spike replies with a serious look
'But you wore that yesterday' I exclaim 'and the day before'
'Yeah and for about the last hundred years, what of it?' He retorts 'I don't need to impress Giles' he narrows his eyes at me
'Who says I'm doing that?!' I snap
'Looks like you are' he frowns, exits the room and his footsteps can be heard traveling down the stairs.
I slip on some shoes and quickly follow him down the stairs.
'I'm sorry' I tell Spike 'I didn't mean to upset you'
'You didn't' he mumbles
'I was trying to look nice for Giles we haven't seen him in 8 months. I want him to think that I've got it all together'
'Yeah, I get that, he's basically a father to you' he forces a smile
'You can wear whatever you want, you look amazing' I tell him, and he does. Spike still looks mysterious and just as sexy as the day I met him.
'Thanks love'
I wrap my arms around his waist and burry my head into his chest, 'I love you'
'I love you too. When are the rest of the scoobies getting here?' Spike asks me
'I'm not sure if they're all coming' I frown 'Giles is getting here tonight, Willow and Tara are still in Rome, Tara said something about the magic there, I don't know. And lastly, Xander and Anya are in... um Paris, yes I got their post card this morning.' I explain
'It's been 8 months I thought we were having a family catch up?' Spike replies
'Aw do you miss them?' I tease
'I know you do, stuck with me all the time' he laughs
'I'm not stuck with you, don't be silly. I chose you and I love you' I beam
'Yeah I know, come on pet we need to go' he chuckles grabbing my hand and lacing his fingers through mine.
