A Tale of Christmas Dinner (DestinyxSam Oneshot)

Prompt: Person A, who does most of the cooking, is planning a big holiday meal. However, the day that they are going to start cooking, they hurt themselves so that they can't cook or really be in the kitchen much at all. Person B (and/or C, etc. if applicable) has to balance taking care of person A and trying to prepare a meal far beyond anything they've ever done, because person A is still insistent that ordering takeout is impossible/unacceptable.

Destiny turns around to look at her girlfriend. They're currently in a heated discussion regarding the upcoming Christmas dinner or in Destiny's opinion, Christmas buffet, what with the amount of food Sam has planned out. After the whole Christmas tree decorations debacle, Destiny thought she was done doing anything close to the festivities and just take care of Sam while she's recovering from her leg injury. Boy was she wrong. The moment Sam brought up the dinner, she knew she would have to step in and cook the food. At first Destiny didn't mind it but after seeing the list, she had stop at nothing to convince Sam to just order the food instead of making it. Don't get her wrong, she knows how to cook but to make the entire list would be an impossible task with the little amount of time she has before their guests arrive.

"I still don't see why we can't just order the food. No one will notice." Destiny crosses her arms over her chest as she keeps eye contact with Sam whose blue-gray eyes saucers up at her suggestion.

"Ordering the food is impossible!" Sam exclaims.

"No cooking this amount of food in such a little amount of time is impossible." Destiny argues, waving the paper only to get a head shake of disagreement. "Babe no one will know we ordered the food." She adds.

"I will." Sam huffs. If only she didn't injure herself she'd be the one cooking instead of arguing with her girlfriend. She would probably be halfway through by now.

"Fine. How about a compromise?" Destiny tries on a different approach considering the redhead's stubbornness. "I cook half of the food on this list and we order the rest?" She smiles.

"Nope that's unacceptable." Sam replies shaking her head defiantly. "Look if you don't want to cook then I'll do it myself." She contest before trying to stand up from the chair she's been sitting on for an hour now.

"What are you doing?" Destiny asks watching her girl try and stand up on her own.

"I'm going to cook." Sam retorts huffing when her body rebels against her.

"Babe stop." Destiny goes around the counter to hold Sam's body up and prevent her from further injuring herself. "You can barely stand much less walk around the kitchen to cook." She sighs getting a glare from her stubborn goddess.

"Someone has to cook. Since you don't seem like you want to, I'll do it myself." Sam scoffs but nonetheless sits back down. She looks on as Des crouches down in front of her.

"I'll cook okay? It's just that..that's a lot of food babe." Destiny reasons out. "I don't think I can finish it on time." Sam almost smiles but bites her cheek to stop herself.

"Well baby, if you start cooking now you will finish on time." She pats Destiny's cheek. The brunette stands up having been defeated and resigned herself to the huge task. She goes back around the counter, takes the apron and ties her hair up before picking up the knife to start chopping the vegetables. Sam feels her heart hammering inside her chest as she watches Destiny go around the kitchen. She has no doubt her girl can cook but she always took the role of cooking the Christmas dinner and having someone else cook the food you have done so many times is undoubtedly nerve wracking. Her eyes follow Destiny's every move as if mentally checking the other girl was doing it correctly. Destiny can feel eyes burning into her, following her every move which reminds her of the time she and her dad used to cook together for their Christmas dinner. Then her dad would let her cook dinner when she hit 16 years old although he would look on.

"You can stop staring now." Destiny looks up with a smirk. "I know I'm hot but if you want me to finish on time we can't do anything naughty." She wags her finger at Sam who responds by rolling her eyes.

"You're so full of yourself you know that?" Sam states.

"Well if you have all this." Destiny signals to her body with a confident smile. "I can't blame you for being unable to keep your eyes off of me." She winks and Sam just gives her a head shake.

"Just cook." Sam commands getting a laugh from the other girl who goes back to cooking. Sam knows exactly how hot Destiny is, she knows her body intimately and she has eyes. She can see how beautiful the brunette is but sometimes she can get big headed.

It takes Destiny half an hour to finish at least half of the list. She decided to make the complicated ones first before doing the easy ones. She mentally checks off the finished items before counting down on how many different desserts Sam has put in the list.

"Do we really need 5 desserts?" She asks raising an eyebrow. "I mean I love my desserts but this is going to give us diabetes baby." She adds seeing the frown on Sam's face.

"Of course we need a variety of it. I'm not sure what your mom wants or your grandma. So it's best to give them choices." Sam replies with a smile. Destiny sighs resignedly before putting the paper down and thinking that Sam could probably open her own catering services. Sam on the other hand is quite pleased at Destiny's rather obedient nature. She looks at the clock to see that they would have about 3 hours left before everyone arrives for the dinner. Sam looks back to see Destiny put the last dessert in the oven. She looks at the counter to see almost all of the food she had put in the list.

"How'd you know how to make all of this?" Sam asks in awe. Destiny gives her that smug smile.

"I may have done some cooking with my dad for Christmas before he gave me the reigns." Destiny smile as she takes off the apron to go around to her girlfriend. "Have I impressed you yet?" She asks as she locks her eyes with Sam's. Sam tries to play it cool by putting on a nonchalant face but deep inside she was proud and impressed her girlfriend finished everything and they have 3 hours to spare.

"You did good." Sam teases watching Destiny's jaw slacken in disbelief and dramatically puts her hand on her chest in feigned offense.

"What else can I do to impress you my lady?" Destiny asks with her fake British accent accompanying it with a bow.

"I think I'd like to be pampered like a princess." Sam bites her inner cheek to stop herself from laughing at the huff her girlfriend lets out before meeting glaring blue eyes.

"You're are milking this injury of yours to the extreme." Destiny tells her but smiles as she looks at the adorable expression on Sam's face. Destiny doesn't mind giving Sam everything she wants and she definitely don't mind pampering her but she can't let Sam know that now could she? "What is your first command, my lady?" Sam pretends to think before she smiles mischievously at the other girl.

"Well....we do have to get ready for the dinner so." She pauses. "I guess you should take me to the bedroom." Sam finishes and Destiny laughs with a smirk on her face.

"Sam if you wanted to do the naughty before everyone gets here, you don't need to use a code for it. Just say so." Destiny winks and Sam blushes profusely at the indication. Despite her best effort not to make it sound sexual, Destiny somehow in someway turned it into sexual. She gets picked up by Destiny in bridal style as she tries to hide her blush.

"Shut up and just take me to bed." Sam murmurs against the other girl's shoulder and she feels it shake as Destiny's laughter rings throughout the room making her smile in return.

"As you wish my lady." Destiny makes sure she has good grip on her girlfriend before walking to their room carefully. "You know, I have a feeling this won't be the last time I'll carry you like this to a bedroom." Destiny says as they near the bedroom making Sam look up at her inquisitively.

"I'm not that clumsy Des." Sam huffs and tries to cross her arms only to fail as her other arm is wrap around the girl's shoulder.

"I'm not saying you'll injure yourself again." Des retorts looking at Sam. She opens the door with her foot, thankful that they didn't close it completely before setting the girl on the bed.

"Then what are you saying?" Sam asks tilting her head to the side as she looks at the brunette who is now trying to find some casual yet elegant clothes to wear for dinner.

"You'll see soon enough." Destiny replies ambiguously. She shuffles around the closet, picking out a jeans and shirt for her and a dress for Sam.

"Why a dress babe?" Sam asks.

"Well because of two reasons babe. One, this will be easy to put on you and two, it's also easy to take off of you." Destiny wiggles her eyebrows while Sam's eyes widens before turning into slits.

"No we are not gonna be having sex with your family here." Sam reasons out although she would really not oppose the idea.

"Of course not babe...well not when they are here. Once they leave though." Destiny trails off as she walks to the bed. Sam simply shakes her head because there was no use in arguing over such a silly thing. Like always, Destiny helps Sam change into the dress all the while keeping her hands to herself knowing Sam wouldn't appreciate any sexual advances at this time. She helps the redhead sit on their vanity mirror so she can do her make up. Destiny walks to the bed where she had laid down her clothes for the dinner. She takes off her clothes and put on the ones she picked while Sam does her make-up, discreetly checking her girl out. Sam sees Destiny behind her, brunette locks cascading down her shoulder as she leans over her.

"See something you like?" Destiny teases with that smug look on her face making Sam roll her eyes going back to finishing her make-up. Destiny chuckles and does her make-up standing up, opting to just a simple eyeliner, light eye shadow and nude lipstick. Sam turns to look at her girlfriend who she sees is already looking at her with that smile. "Are you sure we can't just enjoy Christmas eve with each other?" Destiny asks pouting and it almost makes Sam change her mind. Almost. As cute and as irresistible her girlfriend is, the dinner has been set so they could enjoy it with the family. Sure her mom or her dad wouldn't be one of the guests but her aunt will be and she has grown to love Destiny's family as if they were her own.

"We have the entire Christmas day to spend babe. I'm sure you'll survive just tonight with your family and aunt Ellie really wants to meet you." Sam twirls brunette hair in her finger and gazes lovingly at the other girl. "What do you say?"

"Alright love. Anything for you." Destiny replies and helps Sam up off the chair, carrying her in bridal style once again to the living room and sets her down comfortably on the couch. The doorbell rings signaling them of the arrival of their guests. Blue eyes meets bluish-grey ones in a silent question before Destiny moves to open the door. Sure she would prefer to have alone time with her girlfriend but she doesn't mind spending it with family. After all, isn't that what Christmas is all about?
