Chapter 26: Little Digs
Noah's POV
We'd seen Jackson for the past 2 days and he'd constantly been making sly digs at Keane and Tayte, saying things to rile them up and it was seriously pissing me off, ever since he found out that they were together, it was as if he was jealous or something, or seriously deranged.
"How do you know Rupert isn't going to fall in love with a woman in the future?" Jackson said,
"Why the hell would you say something like that?" Keane told him,
"It was just a thought, surely it must have crossed your mind?" Keane stood up, he looked pissed,"
"He'd never do that," he said and stormed off,
"I'm sorry if I upset you" Jackson called going after Keane,
"What's up, are you okay?" Tayte said as Keane barged passed ignoring him, "What did you say to him?" Tayte asked,
"I just said what happens if you fall in love with a woman. I thought it was a fair question. The same goes to you, what happens if Freddie stops loving you and falls in love with a woman?"
"Is your love life that nonexistent? Is that why your picking at ours," Tayte said heading over to Keane, Jackson smiled, I was watching him closely, "I love you and I'm not ever going to stop loving you,"
"I know, same goes to you,"
"We're heading back," Tammara said, "We'll see you tomorrow Jackson,"
"See you tomorrow, your parents are going to speak to someone about what happened at MI6, I think they wanted you all to check out another lead, but you'll have to talk to them about it," he said, waving us off,
"I'm not too sure about Jackson" I said,
"You think," Keane snapped, we all looked at him, "I'm sorry, he just really pissed me off,"
"Where are Mum and Dad?" I asked,
"They said they were going to meet us back at base with dinner," Tammara said as we hopped on the tube,
"What did Jackson say to you?" Tammara asked,
"Nothing"
We headed back to the base through the toilets of Knightsbridge that lead us down a torrent of steps and put us through a door where we entered the tracks,
"I forget how dark it is down here," I said, "Where's the torch?"
"Keane, danger lurks in these tunnels, get back to safety as quickly as you can,"
Keane spun around spooked,
"What's up?" I asked,
"What did you hear?" Tayte asked,
"Let's just get back as quickly as possible," he said,
"Which way?" I asked,
"Follow me, I'll lead the way,"
"This way," Keane said. We got back safely enough, Mum and Dad weren't back yet. The lights flicked on and Keane collapsed onto the bed,
"More voices?" Tayte asked, lying next to me,
"More voices," He answered, shutting his eyes,
"I'm going for a shower," I said, "Before Mum and Dad come back," they nodded.
Tayte's POV
"I'm going to sleep and before you say no, I'm not listening," Keane said, I chuckled, Tammara was watching TV and she put the glass wall around, so not to disturb us,
"Do you mind if I join you?" I asked,
"If it means that you aren't going to moan at me for sleeping, of course," I wrapped my arms around him and snuggled in tight, kissing his neck, he shivered,
"What's got you all grumpy?" I asked,
"I'm not grumpy,"
"Well you could have fooled me,"
"I'm tired Tayte and I'm fed the fuck up with everything," he sighed,
"Jackson really put a downer on your mood didn't her," I kissed his neck again. He turned around to face me, I kissed his nose, he smiled and I ran my fingers through his hair and our mouths collided again as we got lost in each other,
"You're not alone in your bedroom love birds," Noah said interrupting us,
"Thank you for the reminder Noah" I said as Keane rolled over and shut his eyes,
"Did I upset him?" Noah asked,
"No, he's okay. He's just fed up," Noah perched on the edge of the bed,
"I wish Angelo was here," he said,
"I know you do kiddo and you'll be with him soon,"
"I keep thinking that maybe I should join him you know. Get away from all of this. I just...I can't leave you all,"
"You know I'd happily buy the train ticket Noah. Don't use us as an excuse. We know you'd be a million times safer with Angelo away from this," Keane said sitting up, he really did look tired,
"I would never leave my family Keane. I just wish I never sent Angelo away," he stood up and went and joined Tammara watching TV,
"Fuck," Keane said flopping back down. I rubbed his leg, "I'm really not good company at the moment babe,"
"I'd prefer to be in your company when you're miserable and moody than not at all,"
"That was some lame ass compliment," he said, I laughed and cuddled up next to him again. This time, he fell asleep and I must have too. The banging on the door was what woke me, Tammara and Noah hadn't heard it, in the sound proofed room. I got off the bed, Keane was still fast asleep, and went to the door,
"Churchill," followed by two knocks, I opened it and Joey and Rhina smiled at me,
"All okay? We spoke to Jackson and he said you and Keane had fallen out," She asked,
"We're fine, everyone is okay" I said, trying not to sound angry or annoyed. How fucking dare he,
"Sorry we are a bit later than we first said," Joey said, noticing my mood change, "we bought back a variety things from an Italian delicatessen," Noah and Tammara then appeared,
"Hey" Noah said, "Food," he began taking things out of the bag,
"Hey peach, yes, Italian,"
"Good choice," Tammara got plates and cutlery out,
"You should wake Keane," Rhina said,
"I'd prefer to let him sleep, I'll make sure he eats later on. He's tired" I said,
"Has he had anymore flashbacks?" Joey asked, Noah looked at me, "Because we need to know things like this,"
"That's not for me to say," I said,
"Tayte. He talks to you more than us. He trusts you 100% and he's never going to have that much trust in us. He tells you everything," I wouldn't say everything, I thought, "I know you love him and I know you make each other happy, therefore for Keane's sake, you need to tell me if he's struggling,"
"Dad," Noah said, "Just leave it,"
"For now I will, but this isn't the end of this," we settled down as we ate dinner. Keane woke up an hour later, Rhina and Joey were in a secret room, Noah was watching TV and Tammara was having a bath,
"Hey, you okay babe?" I said softly,
"Yeah..."
"We've already eaten, but there's plenty left over and before you say you're not hungry, I don't care," he smiled,
"What is it?"
"Italian, from a nice delicatessen, trust me you'll like it,"
"Will you get me a plate ready? I'm going to talk to Noah,"
"Of course," I kissed him and then he headed over to what we were now calling the TV room.
Keane's POV
"Hey bud," he looked up when I walked in,
"Hey,"
"I'm sorry about earlier on. What I said, how I said it,"
"Keane...you don't..."
"I know how hard it is for you, being away from Angelo, because I couldn't cope without Tayte. But I don't wish he was here. I wish we were all together somewhere safe,"
"Me too and I love you Keane, I love you so much and right now, the best place for me to be, is here with you and Tayte,"
...
I sat at the table with Tayte eating the dinner he'd prepared,
"Where's Dad and Mum?"
"In that secret room, Joey was asking about if you'd had anymore flashbacks. That for your sake I should tell them if you were struggling," Tayte told me,
"And what did you say?" I asked, taking another mouthful,
"That it wasn't for me to say, then Noah told Joey to leave it,"
"It wasn't a flashback. It was voices, but they were leading the way back to base. Jesus, I swear I'm losing my mind,"
"I don't think you were ever sane," I teased, he smiled. Mum and Dad then appeared through the door,
"Keane, how are you?" Dad asked,
"Just peachy" I replied, Noah came out of the TV room,
"Since the three of you are here, we'll explain what's happening tomorrow," Dad said looking at me, Noah sat down,
"Why isn't Tammara involved in this?" Tayte asked,
"Because she's not been travelling the world with the three of you," Mum replied,
"Tomorrow we want you to come to MI6 or what remains of it, with us, but you're going to be keeping your eyes and ears open. There is going to be a lot of important people milling around the place, including police and military and we want to know if you recognise anyone,"
"Surely if we recognise them, they'll recognise us," Noah said,
"We're going to change that," Mum said, "by changing your appearance, through dying your hair and making you wear contacts,"
"Hold up, what if we say no?" I said,
"Keane," Dad said,
"I'm not going to, I was just asking,"
"So let's do this then," Noah said, changing the subject,
"Once Tammara is out of the bathroom,"
"Oh yeah."

"I like this new look of yours," Tayte said,
"I'm not sure the blonde suits me,"
"Are you crazy? You look incredible and with the one blue and one brown eye is insane" Tayte said, I pulled him in for a kiss,
"Well you with your light caramel and blonde highlights and green eyes is quite the turn on," I said, he laughed,
"I love my new hair," Noah said, "Jet black with my blue eyes,"
"The only problem is now you don't look like brothers anymore," Tammara said,
"T are you blind? They look so alike, despite the hair colour," Tayte said,
"You all look super handsome is all I know" She said.
...
"I've messaged Angelo, he's going to come down tomorrow and surprise Noah for a few hours. I know it's going to be tough to say goodbye, but he needs to see him," I whispered to Tayte as we looked over at Noah asleep on the adjacent bed,
"He's going to be over the moon. When is he coming down?"
"In the morning. I'm hoping we'll be done by early afternoon and when we head back I'm going to message him and tell him to be outside a tube station and surprise him,"
"You're such an amazing brother,"
"I'm just trying to do my best,"
