"You got to be kidding me" you mumbled, side-stepping across the rocks. Where were you? How far had you gone off trail?
You didn't know, but it was obviously far because you hardly recognized the surrounding terrain.
You were lost, damnit.
You looked around the area, it was sandy yet had green life sprouting around, prickly brown plants with small spikes were everywhere.
The sky, pink and orange, darkening at the same time, it was gorgeous but it was hard to enjoy while you were sweating in your black shirt, lost in a Desert.
The people reading this probably are wondering, how the hell did you get into this predicament (Y/N)? Well, you'll tell them.
As you were walking, you saw a lizard, you had a fascination for animals—that includes reptiles.
You watched it and it started to leave, you followed it for about ten minutes before losing it—that leads us to now.
You heard noise, and jumped slightly as you saw a man, looking around your age approach you.
He was blond and had grey eyes, a warm smile and small facial hair growing. He was also tall, he didn't seem too masculine thought—but not feminine.
"You seem to be lost" when he spoke you were instantly interested. His voice was so sweet, like a Carmel Apple.
Giving you a smile that must've made the area warmer—if smiles possessed that power.
"Yeah . . ." You said, nodding slightly as you wiped some sweat from your face.
"Name's Frey" he said, extending his hand.
"Like the Norse God Freyr?" You asked, shaking his hand.
He nodded, "a little strange I know" he said.
"No, no, I like it. I'm (Y/N) by the way" you said, letting go of his hand.
"Nice to meet you (Y/N)" he said, clearing his throat he then added, "do you need some assistance?"
"Possibly" you said, glancing around once more before asking, "what are you doing out here?"
He grinned and said, "I break trail a lot, I've been here many times before."
You smiled bashfully and said, "that sounds awesome."
He nodded, "it is, all the animals you get to see up close, it's frankly amazing."
You sighed and admitted quietly, "I'm lost."
He seemed to sigh and say jokingly, "you Mortals and getting lost."
"Mortals?" You questioned.
He nodded, "Mortals." He took your hands and said, "c'mon Sweetheart, let's bring you back on trail."
Your face heated up slightly and you nodded, hopefully he didn't notice the blush and just took it as an affect of the heat.
You walked, hands intertwined back to the trail.
Usually this would be way too soon to hold hands with some dude, but somehow he made you feel safe.
"Dad?" Questioned a voice.
"Shut up Maggie, your Dad's on a date" said another voice.
"Alex, I don't think this is a date."
"Look at their hands."
Your face flushed and you hid our face with your free hand.
Frey chuckled slightly and said, "stop Alex, you're embarrassing (P)" before giving you another warm smile.
You uncovered your face and shook your head, "no, no, it's alright" you breathed out.
Frey had kids, wow, you were not expecting that, he had a wife, he must, right? Damn, there goes my plans you thought. Stop that you chided yourself.
"So . . . You have kids" you finally said after a pause.
"Well, just the one, meet my son, Magnus" he said, "and his girlfriend—it's girlfriend today right?" He asked.
Presumably Alex shook his head, "I'm male today" he explained.
"Alright, meet my son and his boyfriend" he said.
"Hello" you said politely, then turned to Frey and asked, "so, you're married?"
He shook his head, "no, divorce" he explained.
Your mouth formed an O shape and you said, "oh, I'm so sorry" quickly, hoping to not have possibly triggered the man into sadness.
He just smiled and said, "that was four years ago, I'm over it now."
You nodded and asked, "so, Frey, how old are you . . . ? If you don't mind me asking."
"I'm 34" he explained.
You nodded, "I'm 31" you told him.
He nodded and shook your hand, "I'd like to get to know you sometime (Y/N)" he said.
"As to you Frey" you said, shaking his hand back.
He took out a piece of paper and scribbled numbers into it with a pen and handed it too you.
"Call me sometime."

Well, I left this open-ended, not sure if you'd want me to do a second part. I have some other stories I want to publish, so, we'll see.
