Scarlett's POV
We are now walking back towards the castle hand in hand, I looked at Damien who was looking forward, he was talking about something and I pretended to listen to what he is saying but all that I could only focus on was about Damien's past.
I had thought that his life was perfect; after all, he is a successful and powerful King. As I thought about the woman I couldn't help but feel my blood boil in anger. I mean, how cruel could one could be? Damien doesn't deserve to have a sight that horrific, he saw his father die in front of him, he witnessed how he had died, an event like that couldn't be forgotten or forgiven.
I just don't understand why Dimitri's stepmother murder Damien's father, if they had wanted power, they already have it, given that Dimitri's mother is already crowned Queen. What more could they have want?
"Scarlett? Baby? You okay? You kind off spaced out on me" Damien's voice snapped me out of my thought-filled trance, his hands where at the sides of my face, cupping my jaw as his beautiful and stunning eyes search mine, a worried look on his face.
"I am fine" I waved him off as I produced a forced laugh. Damien still didn't bought it but didn't bother much on it.
"Okay, listen, I am sorry to cut our day short but I still have work to do. As much as it saddens you and me, this is highly significant" as soon as he sees my frowning face he tilts my chin and kisses my lips in a haste but daze-filled kiss that left me breathless.
"I promise, I'll try and finish my work quick" and as soon as he disappeared I couldn't help but feel sad, I already miss him.
Can't I just have him for a day without him working?
Now what am I going to do?
I asked myself internally and my wolf responded, answering my question.
'Well, you can always train for whenever there will be an attack, you'll be ready'
'You know, that is a great idea!' I beamed at her
'Wait, you're serious about this?'
'Yes! I am sorry, but was I too sarcastic for you? plus, I feel as if there will be an upcoming fight and I must prepare myself, I can't just sit there and watch them from afar while eating popcorn as they tear each other out'
'Fine, but I don't think that Damien will be happy to hear about this' she warns me.
'Since when did you take orders from him?'
'Since you fell in love with him' I could hear the smugness from her voice and I picture her with a smirk, I blush furiously.
'I better go and prepare myself... you know, for training' I tried to compose what is left of my calm posture but deep down I was feeling embarrassed, was my feeling really that obvious?
Unknown's POV
I took out the picture once again as I stare at her mesmerizing and captivating face.
Even in the stolen shot of her she still looks beautiful, so fucking beautiful. The temptation of touching her and making her mine is growing more and more as each day passes. I wanted her to be mine, I want her to be all mine.
A knock snapped me out of my thoughts and my spy entered the room.
"What is your update on my Scarlett?" I asked my spy, excited to know what my Scarlett have been doing.
"They were on a date-" I didn't let her finish as my eyes snapped to look at the person in front of me, no doubt it was red from anger.
"They what?!" I said through gritted teeth making it sound more like a hiss. Anger and jealousy was seeping through me as I clench my fists tightly.
The person flinched and responded, "I think that they are already falling in love with each other, I think they are already in-" the person was about to finish the sentence when I took the person's throat in my hand as I squeezed it tightly.
"Don't you fucking finish that sentence! She will not fall for him! Never! Do you hear me?" I said, emphasizing each and every syllable as I tightened my grip on the person's neck.
"Y-yes!" the person squeezed out, I drop my hold on the person's throat. My jaw was clenched tightly; my hands were fisted in a ball, my knuckles turning white.
"Whatever the fuck your name is, distract Wolf boy, make sure whatever you do will succeed and will lead to Scarlett getting her heart severed into millions of pieces-" I paused before I gave a small device to the person who is still coughing from my choke-hold.
"Attach that to her and make sure you do or I will personally kill you, now get out of here"
"Soon. You will be mine soon, my Scarlett" I said to myself as I stare at the picture once more, a sinister smile plastered on my face.
Scarlett's POV
I am currently walking towards the massive training field and was shocked to see so many wolves training. All are strong, tall, big and muscled, I look like an ant compared to all of them. There are also women training and I was glad they weren't sexists, women deserve equality.
I was too caught up in my awe-struck daze that I didn't realize that I bumped into someone.
I looked up only to see the Beta, "What are you doing here?" he asks monotonously as he eyes at me skeptically.
"Train" was my short answer.
"Train to where? Train to Busan?" he said sarcastically as he crossed his arms across his chest. I rolled my eyes at him.
"No, I mean train, you know to enhance your fighting skills in combat, to make yourself stronger so that you could protect yourself from unamused Betas, not that I am talking about you but it was a good example though" he glared at me.
"It was a rhetorical question" he drawled out looking at me like I was out of my mind.
"And that was a rhetorical answer" I fought back and he groaned.
"Why do you want to train?" he asks me again and I suddenly feel as if this was an interrogation.
"For the upcoming fight?"
"I think there will be no fights and if there are, just leave that to your mate and the skilled warriors" why is he preventing me from training? Does he think that I am incompetent?
"And sit around like a princess?"
"Queen actually" he butted in. I rolled my eyes.
"I'd rather train, thank you very much. Now if you excuse me I have a 'train' to catch" I shook my head as I left him there.
I went to a fighting circle as I study two warriors who are in their human forms battling out each other. I was watching them intently before I spotted Lily advancing towards me, I smiled at her and she smiled back at me, albeit her smile was wider than my own.
"Hey! What are you doing here?" she asks me as she stops just in front of me.
"I came here to train"
"Oh, do you have a sparring partner?" she asks with a raised eyebrow.
"Er, none at the moment" I said as I flushed, embarrassed.
"Great! I'll be your partner then!" she says eagerly as she clasped her hands together in glee, I smile at her.
There was a free fighting ring and she led the both of us inside it. She placed her hand on the small part of my back as she led me to where I should stand and we started to prepare, I was stretching out my muscles as Lily did so too.
As soon as we entered the fighting ring, wolves start to surround us as if we were their entertainment for today, I hated being watched but I shrugged them off, I needed them to see that I was an adequate leader, that I am not as frail.
Lily was smirking at me, probably thinking that I am lacking practice. As soon as the training started she immediately lunged forward, which was a bad move as I moved past her and she slammed into the ring instead. She quickly recovered but it wasn't quick enough as I hit her face with a roundhouse kick, she staggered back as blood dripped from her bloody nose. She growled in frustration as she stood up straight and tried to attack me as she delivered punch after punch.
I managed to block some of her punches, I took a note as I saw her panting heavily seeming tired and I took that as an opportunity as I lifted my legs and sent my knee to her stomach which made her fall back as she clutched her stomach in pain.
I grabbed both her arms as I pinned them behind her back, I flipped her over as she laid on her stomach, with both her arms behind her back I twisted them a lot more causing her to let out a scream, I let her go as I soon realized that she gave up, I heard claps as wolves around me cheered.
I offered a hand to Lily and she grabbed it hesitantly.
"I am sorry, are you okay?" I asked her as I took a glance at her bloody nose and cringed.
"It's okay and I am fine, you were amazing. How did you manage to fight like that?" she all but asked.
"The life of being a former rogue I guess" I shrugged and my day went like that, I trained with other wolves, I won some battles and lost in some, but I think that they were only going soft on me because I was their Luna but at least I managed to get some tips on how to attack properly. They were all strong, always calculative on their every move, maybe that's how they got to be warriors, all of them deserved to be called the royal warriors of the Werewolf Kingdom.
I had bruises all of my body, my body ached but I didn't mind the pain, it was refreshing to drench in sweat as I train with my fellow wolves. I love being connected to them and I feel like I am being a better Luna to them.
My eyes widened as I realized that the sun was descending, making the Earth darker, I sprinted my way towards the Castle before Damien realizes that I was mostly out the whole day.
I tiptoed my way towards our room but as I turn the knob of our door, a voice spoke up which made me freeze.
"Where were you?" he asks, his voice calm yet I know that a storm was building up.
I am screwed.
