The Gerudo Leader was being escorted out of the castle by a handful of guards. As they made their way through Hyrule Castle, Ganondorf took this time to just take in the beautiful sights of the castle. It was obvious Hyrule was blessed with fortune, as everything in this room combined could pay for the entirety of the Gerudo peoples homes.

A large group of guards brushed by the group Ganondorf was with, seeming to be running frantically for a reason Ganondorf did not know of. The guards surrounding him stopped the others, and began asking multiple questions to why they were in such a hurry.

Worry was strewn across all their faces, as their leader stepped in front.

"The King has fallen! All guards are ordered to go to his side and help as much as possible!" the leader shouted, earning many gasps from the guards leading Ganondorf.

One turned to face the Gerudo Leader, looking extremely panicked now. "Y-you may escort yourself out - we must help the King!"

With that being said, all the guards huddled up and resumed their frantic yells and cries as they zoomed down the bright corridor of the castle. Ganondorf stood there in shock, looking back and forth a few times before his brain finally processed what had just happened.

"The King...has fallen? What do they mean by that?" he questioned to himself and no one else in particular. The Gerudo raised his large hand to his chin, stroking it thoughtfully as his brain tried thinking of what those words meant.

He shook his head, feeling incredibly stupid for having to stop and think about something so simple. "Gah! The King has fallen...meaning...he's been shot down?"

'How would this even happen? Was someone trying to assassinate the King? I wouldn't know their intentions, but since Hyrule is the most powerful monarchy in the land, this would seem like a very possible outcome,' Ganondorf thought, looking down at his feet and the lush, deep red velvet rug that was laid across every hallway and corridor in the palace.

Lost in thought, the world around Ganondorf seemed to slowly turn colorless, as he thought more and more about what had just happened.

The next thing he knew, Ganondorf felt a harsh smack hit his stomach area, and he opened his eyes to discover he was laying on the floor. Looking up at the ceiling for a moment, his eyes began to dart around the area above him before he heard a low grunt that emitted from in front of him. The Gerudo arose from the floor, rubbing the back of his head, which was now sore due to the sudden contact with the marble ground.

In front of him laid a man, who only looked like a teenager to Ganondorf. He had dirty blonde, side swept hair and wore a fancy-looking green tunic. A hat, which Ganondorf thought was shaped oddly, was off of the man's head and laying atop his stomach.

The boy groaned, fluttering open his sharp, blue eyes, grabbing his cap and leaning back up. Once he had risen, he glared at the Gerudo, making Ganondorf cock and eyebrow in confusion. What had he done wrong this time?

"I told you to move out of the way!" yelled the boy, who stood back on his feet and began to fluff out his hat for no reason, before plopping it back neatly on his messy head.

Ganondorf stared up at the boy in disbelief.

"I...I'm sorry?" that came out more like a question than a legitimate apology from the Gerudo. "I...wasn't paying attention to my surroundings. My mistake."

Ganondorf stood up, staring down the man who was much, much shorter than him.

"Who are you, anyway?" the man asked, folding his arms across his chest and eyeing the Gerudo.

"Um...I-I'm Ganondorf, the Leader of the Gerudo Tribe..." he answered truthfully, bowing a bit just in case some respect for this man was needed.

The man's eyes went wide, and it looked like his whole body had stopped functioning and had frozen over. Like he had realized something very important to him.

"G-Ganondorf, you say?" he questioned, and closed his eyes deep in thought, furrowing his eyebrows in the process. "That sounds too familiar..."

"What do you mean?" Ganondorf asked. "We have never met."

'Now that I think about it, this man looks oddly familiar as well...that's strange,' Ganondorf thought.

The man let out a deep sigh, before opening his eyes and staring down Ganondorf again.

"Who are you, then?" Ganondorf asked.

"I am..." he trailed off, trying to remember the title the princess had bestowed upon him. "I am Sir Link of Hyrule. The bodyguard to Princess Zelda."

Now it was Ganondorf's turn to be shocked. The name, 'Link', also sounded all too familiar to him...but why? Then, his shock over the name quickly died down and returned as shock as to what his affiliation was.

"Y-you're the bodyguard of Princess Zelda?" Ganondorf asked in disbelief, earning a slow nod from Link.

Images from earlier today flashed across Link's mind one by one, reminding him of what he had just committed. His grip on the bow in his hands tightened, as he tried so hard to mentally push all those terrible images away from his head. But that's all he could think of right now. Absolutely nothing would help him right now. He was too traumatized from what he had just done.

"I-I am," was all Link could sputter out, before he heard loud shouts and cries emit from the room where the King was.

Ganondorf's head cocked in the direction that the noise came from, examining it for a moment, before he turned back to face Link, staring at the young Hylian in confusion.

"So, what happened to the King?" Ganondorf asked, and those few words seemed to send chills running down Link's spine.

Fear encased his mind, as he tried to come up with the best possible excuse for what had happened. Link couldn't bluntly just say aloud that he was the one who killed the King, and now he was running away by Zelda's orders. Definitely not. That would ruin everything and would cost his life. But Link was not good at lying, or coming up with dirty lies to use and trick people with.

"I-I...no one is sure. All we k-know is that he was shot in the back with an arrow, leading us to the conclusion that someone was attempting to assassinate him..." Link mumbled, using the calmest and most nonchalant voice he could pull off.

Ganondorf nodded, seeming convinced by the Hylian's words.

"If you're Zelda's bodyguard, tell me what she is like," the Gerudo suddenly said. "I've heard many rumors from my own village that she is ruthless and unkind and mean. I mean, when I had my meeting with her earlier today she seemed just like that, but I wasn't sure if it was just her royal ego or anything...is she always like this? Does she treat you and the others in the palace like shit?"

Link raised his eyebrows at Ganondorf's sudden question, before nodding quickly in reply.

"She is exactly like you make her out to be," Link said honestly, not wanting to lie anymore. His thoughts from earlier seemed to be clearing up as well, but they soon returned at the mention of the Princess's name.

His head lowered and he shrugged.

"I have a feeling that Princess Zelda was involved with this..." Ganondorf mused, scratching his chin in thought and gazing out one of the pristine glass windows.

Nighttime had already fallen over the land of Hyrule, making the moon rise high in the sky, blessing the calming moonlight across the plains and entering the castles windows. Stars of many different sizes were scattered across the dark blue sky, twinkling with every movement you made. Lights from inside the castle were all turned on, making the place glow with a light, yellow hue.

Link's heart skipped a beat at the Gerudo Leader's words, before he felt his heart resume its pumps, clearing his throat and nodding slowly. Ganondorf noticed this and looked down at Link for a moment.

The blonde man rose his head up, and nodded once more.

"I know Princess Zelda was involved in this..." Link said, all of a sudden feeling bold with his words, allowing his mind to speak for itself now.

"I...she's planning to do much worse things after this..." Link admitted. He decided to tell Ganondorf a few things he knew about Zelda, intentionally leaving out the fact that she had ordered him to kill her father, the King.

Ganondorf raised one eyebrow, becoming more and more interested in what the bodyguard had to say about Zelda. "Like...like what?"

"She intended for this to happen..." the blonde haired man said, clenching his fists in anger. Hatred for the princess arose in his body, making him want to punch something or someone in the face to let it all out.

Princess Zelda was making her way back to her studies, as a few guards halted her from entering the room. She furrowed her eyebrows in disgust, making a low 'tch' sound at the sight of the guards, whom were preventing her from entering her studies room.

"Let me in," the princess demanded, trying to brush away the guards who blocked the doors, but to no avail. No one would move on her behalf.

"Your majesty, do you know who assassinated King Harkinian?" their leader asked, taking one step closer to the princess.

Zelda smirked, an evil looking smirk that sent chills down the spines of the newer guards. "Why would I know? I wasn't even there."

"You were," the guard stated, keeping his posture straight and tall.

"Ah, maybe I was. Who knows?" she said, the smirk never leaving her lips.

"Who killed King Harkinian?" the guard demanded once more, his grip on the hilt of his sword tightening. Zelda gaped at his bravery, before taking a deep breath and letting out a log sigh.

"Sir Link," she sneered. "My bodyguard."

The guards all seemed taken aback by her response, some even standing in shock at her words. Silence filled the room, making the tension so thick, you could almost cut it with a knife. Their leader gripped the hilt of his sword even more, and restrained himself from lashing out his anger on anything. His grip eventually loosened, before he raised it in the air again.

"Find Sir Link! And do not let him get away!!" the leader shouted, earring many 'yeahs' from the guards behind him, all raising their swords high in the air. Zelda rolled her eyes at them, before clearing her throat.

"He is supposed to be going back to his room. You guys should look around those areas..." Zelda drawled out, placing her index finger on her chin and smiling devilishly.

The group of guards all cheered once more, out of anger and vengeance. If Sir Link was the one to bring the King down, then they would end his life in a heartbeat.

Zelda began to follow the guards, making sure not to get too far behind. Her pace picked up as she noticed how far behind she was, until the guards came to a sudden stop.

She shoved her way to the front of the crowd, seeing a dazed Link standing in front of her, his eyes wide and panic evident in them. Beside him stood an equally shocked Ganondorf, probably wondering why the guards were suddenly cornering them.

"Sir Link, you are under arrest!!" the guards' leader shouted, making silence fill the room.

Link stared at Zelda in disbelief, but she just smiled cunningly and shrugged.

Did she tell them?

"W-why?" was all Link could muster out, feeling his cheeks burn up in embarrassment. He sounded like a child in that moment. Ganondorf stared down at the Hylian, wondering how he possessed that much courage to just say something like that, and to the Royal Army at that.

"Sir Link, her majesty says that you were the one who assassinated King Harkinian," the leader said, making Link's heart skip a beat. "Is this true?!"

The room fell so silent, that you could almost hear a pin drop. All the guards glared at Link, seething with rage as they stared him down. The Hylian looked at Zelda, his eyebrows furrowing with anger. With all the hatred he held towards her.

Why did he even trust her in the first place?

"Run."

Link jolted his head to the side, to see Ganondorf beginning to take slow steps backwards.

"Run!" the Gerudo shouted once more, before turning his heel and running as fast as his legs could carry him. Link didn't have much time to react, and eventually found himself dashing away from the guards.

Shouts and yells were heard from behind the pair, getting louder and louder as the guards drew closer to them. Huddled of large footsteps filled the room, as Link and Ganondorf escaped and the guards chased them.

Link and Ganondorf somehow found their way out of the castle, and soon lost the guards.

The screams and shouts from the guards died down, and Link and Ganondorf found themselves far from the castle.

The Hylian looked around, noticing that they were in the outskirts of Castle Town, or the not so nice areas of town. Link panted, trying to catch his lost breath, as he leaned against the wall of a random building. He slid down said wall, and looked down while he caught his breath.

Link was still clutching the arrow in his hands, which just brought back even more images from earlier today.

Then another thought flashed across his mind, as he looked up to see a worn out Ganondorf standing in front of him.

He furrowed his eyebrows at the Gerudo, and stood up with a few wobbles.

"Why did you come with me?" Link asked in annoyance, wanting to just be left alone right now.

Ganondorf took a breath before speaking. "I want to help."

Link cocked an eyebrow. "Help with what, exactly?"

"To...destroy...Zelda's...plans..." Ganondorf said, taking a breath with each word he spoke.

A/N: This chapter wasn't the best but hey! Ganondorf and Link have finally met. And Zelda has betrayed her trust to Link. Oh noes.

Anyways.

I have a bunch of ideas for how I want this story to end and some of the events building up to that point, but my mind is really blank right now...

I apologize if the next few chapters take awhile to be published. I have writer's block right now, so just be patient. During that time, I'll be thinking out what I want to happen next and stuff...

Thanks for reading this. I hope it was okay :)
