*COUGH COUGH*
I woke up sick that day, I felt so dizzy and drowsy. I can't believe I got sick on my second day of school. I made the tough decision of staying home that day, I could tell I needed some rest. I got up, crawled to the sink, brushed my teeth, and made a cup of tea. When I was done it felt like I used up all my energy so I decided to go back to bed, it was still a rainy day so my sleep was peaceful.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
I was awoken by a knocking on my door, I jumped up and looked at the clock, it was 3:20 PM. I had slept all day. I crawled to the door and slowly opened it. Maybe it was Leo checking up on me?
There to my surprise it was Christian.
"You don't ever miss school, Josh. What's up?", he asks
"I got sick", I reply with a hoarse voice
"Oh no. Do you have meds?", he asks
"I don't", I reply
"Have u eaten?", he snares
"I have not", I reply
"What am I going to do with you, Josh? Sit tight, I'll go get you some meds", he says
"Oh. Thank you very much, Christian. I would appreciate that", I said coughing.
He hurried as I close the door. I sat on the couch and thought of Leo. I wonder if he got up last night and left without waking me.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
Did Christian forget something? I walked up to the door and opened it, it wasn't Christian but it was Leo and he was wearing my jacket.
"I left with your jacket last night, I forgot it on when I left", says Leo
"Oh that's okay", I say
"I was bringing it back but I felt cold and wore it but it's now wet, I'll wash and return it to you", says Leo
"You don't have to do that", I smile
"Oh no. I have to... Are you okay? You didn't show up at school, so I wanted to check up on you", he asks worriedly
"Oh, I'm fine, just a little sick. I'd invite you in but you'll catch my germs", I reply
"Josh have you eaten today?", he asks
"No, I was asleep all day. I thought if I rest I'd wake up rejuvenated", I say
"Josh. That's a terrible excuse. This isn't a movie where you're magically healed", he warns
"Yeah but I'll be fine", I assure
"Not if you don't eat, I'm coming in. I'll make you some soup", he smiles
As I let him in I felt a bit of joy. He's worried about me? He's making me dinner? This is how a love story goes. I'm a lucky guy.
As he started cutting onions I ask, "You left quite early yesterday."
"Yeah. I didn't wanna wake you up", he says
"You could've stayed", I ask
"Oh no. I overstayed my welcome.", he replies.
"It's not a bother. I'd prefer you well-rested", I say
"Thanks for looking out for me. It's really nice of you", he smiles.
"Oh no. It's fine. You're a good guy", I smile
As 20 minutes passed Leo called me up cause my food was ready. I sat and had my beautifully made dinner with a beautiful soul.
Leo is a great guy but sadly he's terrible at cooking.
"How does it taste?", he asks
*Tastes really good", I replied cringing. I admire his hard work and I ate every last bit.
"I'm glad you like it. I'm not a very good cook", he blushes.
As I finish my dinner the door then opening
It was Christian with grocery bags in hand.
