I was late to class, no surprise there. I didn't even pay attention. All I could think about was getting to Alayna's class as soon as the bell rang. There was no way in hell I was going to let Adam talk to her.

40 minutes later, the bell rang, and I ran to out the door.

"Stella!" I heard Dylan call out.

I groaned. "Sorry! I can't talk!"

I apparently had no choice because I was dragged back by my bookbag and faced Dylan.

"Stella! You won't believe what just happened!" he said excitedly.

"You'll have to tell me later, I need to go." I replied hastily, walking off.

I left before he could say anymore. I felt bad for just leaving him, but I had to get to Alayna. I reached the classroom, but the door was closed. And Alayna wasn't in the hallway. I would've seen her if she passed me. Shit!

I ran to the door and looked through the window. I saw Adam with his back toward me. Alayna was in front of him, her back to the bookshelf. She looked terrified. I couldn't here what he was saying. I reached for the door knob, but was startled when I heard a loud bang. I looked back at them and saw Adam with his hand on the bookshelf, right beside her head. His other hand started to caress her waist and- oh hell no!

I yanked the door open and ran into the room. Adam turned his head and looked at me.

"What the hell do you want?"

I didn't answer him. I looked at Alayna and held my hand out. She pushed Adam out of the way and ran to me, hugging me close. I didn't take my eyes off of Adam, but wrapped my arm around Alayna.

I glared at him. "She's not with you anymore. She wants nothing to do with you. If I were you, I would leave her the hell alone, or else I'll have the school all over your ass."

I started to guide Alayna to the door.

"Oh yea? I'm the most popular guy in the school. How can a thing like you turn the school against me?" he asked.

I stopped walking. "Do you really think everyone will love you when they find out you beat your girlfriend? You'll be lucky if you ever get a girlfriend again. You don't deserve a girlfriend."

I walked with Alayna out of the room, slamming the door shut. I stopped when we were around the corner and looked at Alayna.

"Are you okay? Did he hurt you?"

She shook her head. "No, it was just...scary. I didn't know if you would show up. I thought it was gonna happen all over again and-."

"Don't say that. I will always show up. If I don't, you deserve to break up with me."

She blushed. "Its so weird hearing that."

I frowned. "Sorry...I shouldn't have-."

"No no! Its okay! I'm just not used to it."

I smiled and leaned closer to her. I haven't tasted her lips for a whole day and it was killing me. No one would be in the hallway at this time, so we were safe. She shocked me by standing on her tip-toes and pressed her lips against mine. I sighed into the kiss and placed my hands on her waist, guiding her to the wall. I rubbed my thumbs over her sides, slipping them under the hem of her shirt. She giggled into my mouth and broke the kiss.

"We're in school, what if someone sees us?"

I quickly pressed another kiss to her lips. "I wasn't going to do anything and no one is in the hallway. We're safe."

She smiled. "You are so needy."

"Yes, as a matter of fact I am. I am desperately needy for your lips."

She blushed and pushed me away softly. "We are so late for class."

I shrugged my shoulders. "So? Oh! I wanted to ask if you wanted to come to my place after school?"

I saw her frown slightly and I knew why.

"Rick isn't going to be there, I promise. Last time was as shocking to me as well. He doesn't do that, but it won't happen again."

"Its okay, I'll come."

I smiled. "Cool, but we do have to make a quick pit stop somewhere first. Is that okay?"

She slipped her hand into mine. "Its okay as long as I'm with you."

It was the end of the day and we were walking hand in hand down the street. Rose's house was a little bit of a walking distance, but it wasn't too far.

When we reached her house, I saw Alayna's mouth drop. Rose was rich. Well, not rich, but she had some money. She owned a company named Quartz Industry, where they sold a variety of crystals and jewelry. Her house was much bigger compared to ours, with a beautiful garden in the front and back. I urged Alayna to the door. I'll admit, I was excited to see Rose. I also wanted her to meet Alayna. I pulled out her house key she had given me and unlocked the door.

"Rose! I'm here!" I called out.

I stepped inside the house, motioning for Alayna to follow.

She stepped up behind me. "What are we doing here?"

"Rose is an old friend of mine. I just had to get something from her, it'll only take a sec."

I heard faint singing coming from the kitchen. We walked to the kitchen and saw Rose pulling cookies out of the oven. I swear, Rose is one of those old-timey housewives from the movies.

She turned around and saw us standing be the table. "Oh, you're here! I must have lost track of the time. Have you been here long?"

"No we actually just got here." I replied.

Rose had light brown curly hair that reached just below her shoulders. She adored the color pink so almost everything she owned was pink. She once even dyed her hair pink.

She looked over at Alayna. "And who is this beautiful young lady?"

I blushed and cleared my throat. "Rose, this is Alayna. Alayna, this is Rose."

Realization quickly crossed her face. "Oooh! So this is Alayna. My dear, I have heard so much about you. I could never talk to Stella without her saying something about you. And might I add, you are as pretty as she said!"

I groaned. "Roooooose!"

Alayna giggled. "Stella talked about me?"

"All the time! She could never shut up about you!" Rose cheered happily.

"Okay!" I butted in. "Rose, do you have it?"

She nodded and turned her attention back on the cookies. "Same place as always."

I nodded and walked to the kitchen island. I jumped onto the island and looked on top of the light hanging from the ceiling. 325 dollars sat in the middle. I grabbed it and climbed back down. Rose was much taller than I was, so she could easily reach the light and hide my money there. I on the other hand had to climb to get to it.

I put the money in my pocket and turned to Rose. "Okay, I guess we'll be going."

"Wait, already? But you always spend the night?" Rose asked.

"Well yea, but I promised Alayna I would take her to my place."

Rose waved her hands at me. "You act like she's not welcome! She can stay as much as you can!"

"But-."

"I wouldn't mind spending the night here." Alayna interuptted.

I looked at her. "Are you sure?"

"Yea, it's nice here."

Rose walked over to me and handed me a plate with cookies. "I should hope it is. Here's some cookies to take to your room and you can help yourselves to some drinks if you want."

I nodded and accepted the plate. I guided Alayna to the fridge and grabbed a blue mountain dew.

"Help yourself." I said.

"She doesn't mind?"

I laughed. "Trust me, she doesn't mind. It takes a lot to get on Rose's nerves."

She grabbed a Pepsi and we walked up the stairway. There was a hallway and at the very end was a door painted a dark purple. My room.

We walked inside and I was instantly relaxed. My room always calmed me and made me feel safe. I put the cookies and drink on the dresser and flopped down on the black bed.

"Hmmmmmmmmm." I groaned out. "I don't think I can take another step."

Alayna giggled and sat down next to me. Her hand reached out and started playing with my hair. I relaxed and sighed, enjoying the feeling.

"Why do always do that?" she asked.

"Do what?"

"You flinch every time I touch you. I understand about Rick but...you know I'll never hurt you, right?"

I sighed. "I didn't even know I was doing it. It's just a nervous habit. I don't mean anything by it."

"I love you."

My eyes widened. "W-what?"

"I love you, Stella." she said.

"You l-love me?"

She chuckled and looked down at me. "Yeah. I love you."

I shook my head and spoke quietly. "That's not true."

"What?"

"There's no way you can love me." I said.
