What is the proper name for
the Chair of Trump University
or some other
affluent bank robber
enjoying a decadent lifestyle
while condemning a homeless bum
for stealing spicy chicken wings
too much mayonnaise indeed
from KFC?

Confusing the people's treasury
with the family's piggy bank
President Marcos
placed the Philipinnes
under martial law
to revamp the constitution,
silence the media
plunder the country
and make opposition
conveniently disappear.

My friends enemies
are my enemies
it did not really hurt that
the White House
the Pentagon and CIA
nonchalantly looked
the other way.

Making the Republic great again!
Denouncing that filthy political culture
radiating predatory corruption nothing else
strongman Duterte vows to eradicate
all drug dealers & accomplices
nonchalantly making their due
in town.

Adopting the moral principle of
shooting first asking questions later
the rule of law in the country erodes
in a sea of extrajudicial violence
whilst President Duterte
cheerfully prepares
a hero burial for friend Marcos
never mind the army
of human rights
victims.

While the countries is getting
poorer and more violent
extraordinary insanity is invariably
rewarded with
extraordinary
love and affection.

Perverse incentives -
you will get used to it.
