A time where you felt like you were stuck in the middle between your destiny and your safety.
" I don't ever want you to cross that stream! " , my father ordered me
" I was only going to do some laundry. " , I protested
" Well you weren't going to do that last night. " , my father said " Thank goodness I had caught you before you even stepped foot into that side of the stream. "
" Father, I want a new change. We came from a far away place, so maybe these boys could help us around the island. " I suggested
" Tigerlilly, we can't risk anything against our people. We have small children and babies all around the village and we came here to this new land to make peace, not have a war. " , my father said softly
I looked into my father's worried eyes and sighed.
My father was right.
We couldn't risk anything and I knew that I had to do what was best for my people.
My father gave me hug and kissed my cheek as he walked away leaving me alone with the cool, crisp stream in front of me.
I walked away from the stream and into my tent as I opened the cover of my tent and came inside only to sit down among my animal skin blankets and take out a piece of paper and some inked feather pen. I then wrote:
One day I will become a leader of my people after my father. One day I will expand our little village. One day I will be able to explore every parts of this new land. One day I will cross over the stream and make things right with this " Pan. " One day I will prove to my father that I am capable of overcoming anything. One day I will.
" Tigerlilly! Oh Tigerlily! " , my father called for me
" I'm coming father. " , I said as I quickly fold up the paper and hide it in of my few books that I have.
I quickly left my tent and met up with my father only to find him with my bow and arrows.
" We are getting low on food so I would like for you to go hunt something for us to have tonight. " , my father insisted
" Really? " , I asked in excitement
I love hunting and hiking. I mean who I am kidding? I love nature all of it even the beautiful and the ugly or the alive and the dead. I love being outside and my father knew that I was a great warrior princess.
" Of course. " , my father said as he handed me the bow and arrows.
" Thank you father! " , I said as I started running to the nearby woods for some excitement, but then after a while I found nothing.
I been walking for hours until I came upon the stream. I splashed cold water in ny face and drank the crisp water to refresh myself as I sighed.
Then not far enough, I saw a boar.
It was drinking from the stream from the other side of the stream. The other side...oh what I am going to do?
Ha! Maybe I can just aim quietly at it.
I tiped toed down a rocky path and hid behind a bush as I pull out an arrow and aim it directly for the boar. I was steady enough to make a good shot, but then I missed after the boar looked up. The frightened boar squealed and ran off into the woods...on the other side.
Oh come on!
Oh what to do what to do?
Think Tigerlily! Think!
Okay well I have no choice, but to cross over the stream. I lighty placed my shoes over the rocks on the stream and then safety reached over on the other side. I could still hear the boar squealing, so I followed it without any hesitation.
Through the mysterious, dark forest, I follow the scared boar out on to a path. Then it got tired and looked around to find a resting place without seeing me. I hid behind a tree and took a deep breathe for my attempt to make another shot. I aimee carefully trying to make a hit to my target. Then I took the shot, but all of a sudden, a hooded cloak boy appeared as the arrow heads straight towards him
" Watch out! " , I hollered at the boy
He looked up and moved as my arrow missed him and the boar, hitting the tree making the fat boar run away again, but then the boy grabbed his arrow and shot the boar down without any hesitation. Then he turned around ,hiding his face under the cloak, and out of all of the features that could be shown to me, I saw green eyes
Emerald green eyes.
