Kristy came home a few days later asking if I knew what was up with Peyton. Yeah I did, she remembers what happened at her birthday and is yet to decide what she wants.
"I mean you guys talk too, do you know?" She asks again as I shake my head
"What has she been like?" I ask
"Well I went around to go and help her with her prezzies earlier and I swear she was acting as if she got her heart broken" This caught my attention. So she does care about me. "For the last few weeks, she's been happy and herself again, while she was sleeping with Taylor she was down and now it's like she's worse, I tried to help but she said I can't help her, it's all on her"
I looked away for a moment before picking up my phone and seeing a message from Peyton 'Can we talk please?' I reply 'Be there in half an hour'
"She'll come right in her own time" I look at the time and it says three o'clock. I smell good and walk to my room to grab my keys "I'll see you in a couple of hours, I'm going around to Luke's"
It only took me about ten minutes to get to her place. I need to be near her, I've been thinking about her constantly and I've missed her these past few days. I knock on her door and as she opens it, I can see what my sister means.
Dark circles under her eyes like she hasn't had sleep and looked like she needed to be held... By me. I needed to feel her in my arms and that's what I did.
"I'm sorry" She muttered into my chest "I want you, soooo bad but I'm scared of losing her... She's always been there for me and me being with you, she might feel betrayed" I use my fingers to force her to look up at me and I could see tears falling from her eyes. I kiss them away walking back inside her place
"I understand, I just need you to come to terms with the truth, if you're not ready to come out of hiding I can wait... It just kills me seeing the look of regret in your eyes"
She nods her head slowly as we sit down on the couch but instead of her sitting beside me, I place her sitting across my lap with her legs on either side. "I'm sure when the moment arrives, we can tackle it together, yeah?" She nods again as I move her so that she is cuddled up against me on the couch.
While we watch movies I hear a faint snore come from her and I smile knowing she's fallen asleep. I kiss the top of her head and let her stay there for just a little while longer

"Kristy! Peyton's here!" I yell making Peyton giggle. I left around dinner time to go home because I knew she wanted to speak with Kristy. I was currently sitting on the couch by myself when she came and stood behind me and touched my face gently then pulled on my cheeks, hard
"Shit!" This of course made her laugh but I looked up and glared at her "You better watch it babe" She smirked down at me and was about to lean down and give me a kiss when we heard footsteps pound down the stairs
"Hun you look better! Work things out with your new mystery mister" I turned back to my programme and smiled
"Yeah I have" I heard a few steps walk away and up the stairs before I was left alone again.

While I wait for my exam results, I picked up extra hours at a clothing store I work at. I was only working part time but I needed more hours and didn't want to get stuck at home doing nothing because that's what I would've done. What's even better is that it is mainly day work so I either spend my night chilling with Luke when Peyton is busy and her trainings or my club basketball games
Since Peyton's birthday we've been going strong for the last two months. Our parents know about us, at first it was a little awkward but they came around to the idea. We are still yet to speak with Kristy. We can never find the right time to tell her, only because she makes comments like 'Stop hitting on my best friend James' or 'Really guys?'
Blair says he dropped hits like 'what would you do if one of your brothers was dating one of your friends?' She would say 'I will disown the both of them' But then she laughs afterwards so we aren't too sure how she will react.
It's pissing me off because she's always asking who I'm texting because the name I have for Peyton is cutie. And she has me under hot stuff so Kristy doesn't go snooping around our things.
I haven't seen the regret yet in Peyton's eyes but I have seen them sad. It's the last thing I want, for her to be sad because she may lose her best friend because of me.
"Peyton babe" I whisper as I trail my fingers over her bare shoulders lightly
"Hmm?" She mumbles
"I have to go" My fingers were replaced by my lips as I leave a trail of kisses down her arm making her wriggle slightly
"No stay... Please" She rolls over onto her back, her naked breasts on show as she stretches her body moving it up against me

I admire everything about that girl. She is older but being around her grounds me. The age difference hasn't been a problem since our little argument at her birthday. We've pushed it aside and I'm now more sure than ever that I love this girl.
I know she's falling in love with me too but we are both stubborn and haven't said it yet.
My parents had walked in the door after me when we could hear yelling coming from upstairs. I stopped making my sandwich and looked at the stairs when we heard the door open and more yelling "I defended you when they called you a slut but now I see you are!" Peyton came running down the stairs in tears, grabbed her things and rushed out the door
"What the fuck Kristy!!" I yell up the stairs and saw Kristy running down with tears in her eyes
I run outside to find Peyton crying more as she tries to get her keys out of her bag and get in the car "Baby wait" I call out as she stops turning towards me
"James no" She cries harder "She found out through Hayley, Hayley had seen us kissing outside the grocery store the other day and took a picture then sent it to Kristy, I was wondering why she was off at training today" Peyton cried and cried
"Stay here" I tell her, she nods as I storm inside the house "You!" Kristy and I both say
"You're the mystery guy she's been dating? You've been sleeping with her?"
"I love her Kristy! I always have!" Kristy knows me and she knows I would never say I love someone so openly like this unless I really cared and did love them. She takes in my words for a moment before I turn around and head out the door to find Peyton driving away "Look what you've done! You've driven away the love of my life and your bestest friend! How can you be so selfish?!"
"You don't get that, that you both hid this from me James!" She yells. Here we are outside our home yelling. Our parents were trying to calm us down until Jake and Dylan dragged us inside the house
"We tried to tell you, you were the hardest person to tell... Her parents accepted it and ours... Why can't you?" I say "I love that girl"
"You don't know what love is, you're only eighteen" Kristy argues back
"And what is that suppose to mean? You and Blair have been together since year eleven and you're telling me I don't know what love is... Why can't you be happy for her?" I heard my phone go off and look down at the message that Peyton had written "And look at what you've done now!" I yell looking down at my phone then throwing it in her direction. She picks up the phone and tears start to fall from her eyes "She says we can't be together because her best friend can't accept this relationship, she can't accept that her best friend loves her brother... I am happy when I'm with her dammit Kristy" I place my head in my hands when I felt the embrace of my mother surround me whispering soft words in my ear. Sobs broke out across from me
"What have I done mum? Dad?" Kristy sobs "I have to go fix this" I hear her stand up "I'm sorry James, I'll make it right"
I lean back and rest back into my mums embrace trying to take in as much air as I can. Trying to calm myself down.
"She was just upset that you both couldn't be brave enough to tell her, that you both could keep this kind of secret from her... It took for your happiness to crumble to see the bigger picture" My dad says as I nod, my mum running her hands through my hair. My brothers huff
"So what about when we have fights with each other? Do we get special treatment like this?" Jake pointed to where I was sitting
"I'm the baby... So there" I pull a face and snuggle into our mum more
"Why you little-" I laughed when Dylan pulled at my legs and Jake grabbed my upper body, both yanking me away from mum
"You go and get that girl, bring her back here for dinner, of course after you have made up and everything is fixed" Dylan yells when they throw me out the front door onto the lawn. Something hard hit my head and I turn to the ground seeing my keys there
"Go get her" Jake says
