This is a chapter I've been wanting to write since the first book. Honestly, I've just had so many ideas for songs for this theme.
I recommend that if you 'idolise' people like Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber, you do not carry on. I despise both of them (I like old Miley and some of Justin's music is okay).

"This week, we're going to be tackling some songs by people you shouldn't really idolise. People like Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown and many others." Finn explains, writing up BAD INFLUENCES on the whiteboard.
"Why?" Ryley asks.
"Because it will be fun. And I was thinking as an end of the week group number, we could sing We Can't Stop by Miley Cyrus." Finn says.
"That song is horrible." Kitty complains.
"So no matter how bad they are, we can sing a song by them and nobody can complain?" Jake asks.
"Yes." Finn says.
"You're going to see Chris Brown, right?" Marley asks Jake.
"Maybe." Jake says.
"Everybody, you can begin planning now." Finn says.

"Dude, dude, dude, dude..." Jake says, rushing up to Ryder in the hallway after Glee Club.
"What's up?" Ryder asks Jake.
"I have a plan for a song we should sing." Jake says.
"What is it?" Ryder asks.
"We are singing Next 2 You by Chris Brown and Justin Bieber. Two bad influences in one song." Jake explains.
"How is Justin Bieber a bad influence?" Ryder asks.
"Well, he had problems in South America, he pissed in a bucket, he apparently does drugs, he once featured on a song about girls wanting to suck his lolly and he is just rude." Jake explains.
Ryder sighs, "I'm in for this duet." He puts his fist out.
"Awesome." Jake bumps it.
Down the hallway at her lockers, Ryley is trying to figure a song out for what she's going to perform. She was thinking about singing a song by Rihanna. She's not exactly the best of influences (she does drugs and all, right?) so Ryley could tackle a Rihanna song....and no, she is not going to sing Birthday Cake. Maybe she'll sing What Now. That's a good song.
She feels strong arms wrap around her waist from behind, giving her a small fright then she relaxes and turns in the arms.
"Hi." Ryder says, keeping his arms around her. He kisses and it's a kiss that lasts a while but they part for air.
"Hi." Ryley says, grinning.
"Thought of any songs you're going to sing this week?" Ryder asks.
"What about I sing a Rihanna song? She's a good singer and all but she's not exactly the best of influences.
"You should." Ryder says.
"Are you going to sing anything?" Ryley asks.
"Jake and I are doing a duet of Next 2 You by Chris Brown and Justin Bieber." Ryder says.
"Isn't that a love song?"
"Yeah."
"You're going to sing it to me, aren't you?"
"Yeah."
"Well, I love a good love song." Ryley kisses him again.

Ryder and Jake are ready to perform the next day in Glee Club. They both have stools to sit on to sing the song. The New Directions all sit on the seats of the choir room with Marley and Ryley in the front row.
"We're singing a song by Chris Brown and Justin Bieber. Both are pretty bad influences. You shouldn't idolise them." Ryder explains.
The band begin to play their song.
[Jake:]

Jake looks directly at Marley as he sings. She smiles brightly at him.
That only heaven can make.

[Ryder:]

Ryder grins while he sings to Ryley, who begins smiling at him back.

The song finishes to the New Directions clapping and cheering for them, while Marley and Ryley get up to hug and kiss their boyfriends.

Ryley sits at the desk in her bedroom, writing up a paper she has to write for History class. She doesn't even know exactly what the hell she's writing. It all looks like jibberish to her. She would be able to write a good History paper but it is like 11pm at night.
She has her iPhone sitting next to her laptop, plugged in and charging. It flashes, showing a notification. A Facebook message. From Lucas.
She hasn't talked to him in ages. He's been busy with end of year stuff at Dalton and she's had Regionals and now Nationals. She picks up her iPhone to chat with him.
Lucas Tanner: Hey :) What's up?
Ryley Berry: Hey stranger. The roof is up, that's what's up :D
Lucas Tanner: Wow, you are so funny
Ryley Berry: I know
Lucas Tanner: That was sarcastic
Ryley Berry: I know
Lucas Tanner: How's McKinley, your Glee Club and your boyfriend?
Ryley Berry: McKinley's getting a bit depressing because of Graduation coming up. My Glee Club is going to Nationals in New York in a few weeks (YAY!). My boyfriend is awesome but I'm sad because he's joining the army next year.
Lucas Tanner: Well, just remember you'll have a new friend next year at McKinley
Lucas Tanner: That would be me, if you were confused
Ryley Berry: I'm looking forward to getting to know you better, Lucas. I feel like we'd be good friends
Lucas Tanner: Same here. But I kind of like you more than a friend
Ryley Berry: We barely know each other except for our random Facebook conversations and texts sometimes
Lucas Tanner: You're kind, beautiful, funny at times and super talented with singing. How can a guy not fall for you?
Ryley Berry: I have a boyfriend
Lucas Tanner: He's a lucky man
Ryley Berry: Lucas, I don't think we'd really have a chance. I love Ryder so much
Lucas Tanner: Your boyfriend's going to be gone next year and I'll be around. Not him.
Lucas Tanner has logged off
Ryley sighs and exits off Facebook Messenger on her iPhone. She puts it down after locking it. She opens up the document with her History paper on it. She types up things that don't seem to make sense, not completely focusing. Lucas likes her as more than a friend. Does she like him?
No. She can't like him. She already has a boyfriend who she loves so much.
She turns off her laptop, leaving the History paper alone for the night. She just feels really tired right now.

The next day in Glee Club, Ryley's called everyone to come into the auditorium for her song. She's got the band behind her including Brad the piano player. She has a microphone in front of her on the stand and she's ready to perform her song.
"My song is a song by Rihanna. She's an amazing singer and performer and all but she's not exactly the best of people to look up to." Ryley explains.
The band begin to play.

The club begin with just clapping but they all stand up one by one to give her a standing ovation.

After Ryley's performance, the club head back to the choir room.
"I have an interesting choice for a performance." Angie says.
"Please do not say what I think you're going to say." Kitty says.
"What do you think I'm going to say?" Angie asks.
"A Miley song." Kitty says.
"You read my mind." Angie says.
"I'll sing it." Ryley says. She walks up to a nearby guy who sits with a stereo playing. She asks to borrow it and finds that the guy has the song she's looking for. She plays it then the other New Directions members recognise the song.
[Jake:]
I'm so fresh man

[Ryley:]
I'm in the club high off Purp with some shades on

The club go down the hallways, dancing and getting other people to join in.
[Ryley (New Directions Girls):]

Drinking out the bottle
I got no respect (ay)
The music stops. The club turns around to see Sue Sylvester standing with the stereo in her hands. Anger on her face.
"Where's you coach?" Sue asks, gritting her teeth.
Finn is in the mix of the crowd and raises his hand.
"Never have your club singing that song again." Sue says, pointing her finger. She throws the stereo on the ground and it smashes into pieces. She storms off down the hallway, pushing innocent bystanders into the lockers.
Everyone stands around in shock. The guy who owns the now broken stereo chases after Sue, carrying the pieces with him and hoping she'll buy him a new one.

After some of the other members performed other songs in the next days, the New Direction were in the auditorium ready to perform their end of the week performance on Friday. Finn's joining them on the stage for the performance.
"Are we going to be twerking?" Angie asks.
"If you want to." Natalie says.
"I want to." Ryley says, trying to twerk but failing.
"Let's just begin this performance." Ryder says.
The band begin to play.
[New Directions (Jake):]
It's our party we can do what we want (no drama)

We can kiss who we want
We can sing what we want
They dance around, forming a half circle, facing the seats where no one is sitting. Everyone gets their shining dance moment in the middle. Kitty is first, twerking perfectly.

Jake goes into the middle and shows off some of his epic dance moves, doing a flip during it.

Angie and Ryley go into the middle, awkwardly dancing and both try twerking but fail.
[Kitty (New Directions):]
Red cups and sweaty bodies everywhere
Hands in the air like we don't care
Angie and Ryley drag Marley into the circle to join them in dancing.
'Cause we came to have so much fun now
Bet somebody here might get some now
Ryder is next, doing the caterpillar in the centre.
If you're not ready to go home
Can I get a "Hell, no!"? (Hell no)
Blake does moves that you'd normally see some guy trying to be cool dancing doing.
'Cause we're gonna go all night
'Til we see the sunlight, alright
Gabe ends up bringing Angie into the centre to dance with him.
[Ryley with New Directions:]

Doing whatever we want
Natalie shows off her sweet moves into the circle centre.

Benny dances a bit awkwardly since he is tall and kind of awkward (in his words like he's told most people before, he dances like Big Bird from Sesame Street).
[Kitty & Ryley with New Directions:]

Elliot does some pretty awesome dance moves that are kind of hip hop themed.

Abbi does some 'crunk' kind of moves in the circle centre.

Troye and Hailey, who've become really good friends, joke around in the circle centre. Both try twerking and are pretty good.
[Kitty:]
To my home girls here with the big butt
Shaking it like we at a strip club
Remember only God can judge ya
Finn tries to dance in the circle centre but can't cause he's terrible. He then tries to twerk but fails.
Forget the haters 'cause somebody loves ya
And everyone in line in the bathroom
Trying to get a line in the bathroom
We all so turned up here
Getting turned up, yeah, yeah
Ryley and Ryder dance in the circle centre. It's kind of slow but romantic moves.
[Ryley:]

Dancing with Molly
Kitty tries teaching Finn to twerk on the sides as Jake and Marley dance in the centre, romantically.

Benny and Natalie also dance together, not slow but in a romantic way.
[Kitty & Ryley with New Directions:]

Kitty drags Finn into the centre when it's empty after Benny and Natalie finish. She then nudges for Finn to twerk but he looks embarrassed. The club clap for him to dance while they all sing with Kitty and Ryley leading the song.

Finn twerks and it looks kind of awkward (but hilarious) so they clap and all smile, laughing while they sing.

"That was so much." Blake says.
"Finn, you need more twerking lessons and I can help if you need it." Kitty says, patting Finn's shoulder.
"I think I'm good not twerking ever again." Finn says.
