I ate lunch with Mark today at the hospital. I brought him a book of poems and short stories by Edgar Allen Poe- one of his favorite writers.
“Sub.”
“Yeah?”
“Do you know why reading Edgar Allen Poe makes me hungry?”
“Why?”
“Because he’s a Poetato chip.”
Then he started laughing so hard that he almost dropped his slice of pizza.
“Mark.”
“Yeah?”
“Do you know why talking to you makes me hungry?”
“Why?”
“Because you’re cheesy.”
He started laughing so hard that he was in pain.
