When I woke up, I wasn't wrapped up in the warm, tranquilizing, too comforting sheets. Instead I was buried in the simple patterned cotton sheets of my own bed. I sat up instantly, wondering how in the hell get back home. I looked over to the clock and cursed under my breath realizing I was going to be late for school. Quickly taking a shower and dressing in some ripped skinny jeans, my black Dr. Martens, and a simple red and black t-shirt. I pulled my hair up into a oh-so-I-don't-even-care-messy bun. Grabbing my shoulder bag, I raced towards the front door.

Once I hit the warm muggy California air, for the second time today what I expected to be there..wasn't there. The usual blue Lamborghini wasn't parked perfectly in my driveway with a patiently waiting Bryce. Instead it was replaced with the emptiness of my driveway. Disappointment and a little bit of worry flooded me. But I soon brushed it off. I nearly had to run to make it to school on time. By the time I came into my first period class I was probably looking like a hot yellow glazed doughnut.

Jade was sitting in her usual spot, filing down her nails. She looked up and smiled at me when I sat down beside her. "What have you been doing this morning?" she teased eyeing me. "You and Bryce got at it again?"

I huffed. "Don't...even...start." I said breathlessly.

Jade raised her hands up in defense. "I was just asking that's all." she giggled.

I frowned and looked away from Jade. Ever since Gwen showed up Jade and I haven't been seeing much of each other as much as we used to. Hell when I first got here it was just me and her. The thickest thieves out there. But now it was she pushed me back on the back burning because her former best friend was back in the picture. Then again, I'm used to being pushed away.

The late bell rang then, and just when Mr. Tyler was about to close the door, Jay's happy little face popped into the classroom. "Mr. Lewis you're late." Mr. Tyler's booming voice said.

Jay just shrugged. "Actually, if we gonna get technical, the late bell was ringing as I came in so therefore I'm not late. I was walking as the bell was ringing not after."

I rolled my eyes at Jay's idiotic ways. "Alright smartass just take a seat before I write you a detention slip."

Jay turned and headed towards Jade and I. Jay flopped down in the seat beside me. I noticed then a small bruise on his jawline. It looked fresh almost. I also noticed that Jay came to school with nothing but a notebook and a pen. What the hell? Where's his books!

"Where is Bryce?" I whispered over to Jay.

Jay fake pouted. "Well damn I can't even get a hi? Hello? Good morning?" he smirked. "I see somebody got the d put on them."

My face quickly reddened remembering the incident Jay and the others walked in on. "Jay!" I exclaimed punching him in the arm.

"Hey! It ain't my fault you all hyped off Bryce's pipe game!" he chuckled.

"He's right!" Jade chimed in.

I narrowed my eyes at both of them. "Fuck you and fuck you."

Jade just laughed as a mischievous grin spread across Jay's face. "As much as I would love for you to f-.."

I gasped and hit him, again. "You're so fucking nasty!"

He laughed in return. "You love me!"

I signed. It was true, unfortunately, I do love Jay. He's one of my best friends out of the crew. Unfortunately, I can't say the same thing about little miss friend hopper over there. He's always there to put a smile on my face. "Yeah yeah. Now back to the matter at hands. Where's Bryce?"

Jay's face turned a glimpse of serious for a moment. "He's not going to be at school today." he said almost in a business like tone.

"Why what happened?" I frowned. "Wait, how did I get home last night?"

"He didn't tell me. All I know is him, Tyke and Fenix had to go out and handle some things." I couldn't help but notice Jay clench the steering wheel tighter. "Bryce brought you home last night, that much I do know."

I nodded deciding not to say anything. What the fuck is going on with Bryce?

The school day seemed to drag on. I was there physically, but mentally I wasn't there at all. I was too wrapped up in my own thoughts and worries. My mind probably played out a million and two scenarios in my head of what possibly could be happening. I even checked my phone over and over throughout to day to see if he would at least text me, but no. Plus Jade was too busy yapping about her and Q's relationship drama to let me breathe. Also not to mention did she bring of the whole near sex fiasco every chance she got.

I was beyond happy when I got to walk out of those suffocating walls and back into the fresh warm air. I started my way home, since I figured Bryce might be there or maybe not. Either way I had to wait on him to come find me. I wonder what he is doing though. I wonder how Jay got the bruise on his jaw too. Is that from whatever business the crew had to handle? Was the reason they sent Jay to school and nobody else so I wouldn't worry if Jay convinced me too? Ugh, I need to stop worrying everything is gonna be okay...I think.

I rounded the corner and the sound of tires squealing caught my attention. I didn't even have time to blink before two men dressed in black grabbed me.

"Get the fuck off me!" I screamed trying to kick my way free but no avail.

One of the men covered their glove covered hand cover my mouth. I bit down hard onto his hand. The man cried out and almost dropped me, but the other guy caught me. "What the fuck! The bitch bite me!"

I would have cussed his ass out if it wasn't got the fact the other guy had covered my mouth now too and was pushing me into the car. Without any choice I landed on the plush black leather seats of the unknown car. I turned back around and the two guys locked the door. I began pounding on the window as hard as I could.

"Save your engery my dear Shayla," a deep and also famaliar voice spoke. "Nobody is here to hurt you. "

When I turned to face the unnamed voice I gasped. Raymond. How in the world did he find me? Raymond sat coolly on the opposite side of the car. His arm was hanging over the back of the seat and was dressed in one of the best trailored Armani suits I've ever seen. He looked pretty much the same since the last time we met.

"W-What do you want?"

Raymond chuckled, deep and husky. "My only intention is to speak with you sweetheart."

I narrowed my eyes at him. "Don't call me that."

Raymond raised an eyebrow at me as he shifted in his seat. "Very well than Shayla. As I stated before I only want to discuss some business with you."

I straightened up a little in my seat. "And what is this business you speak of?"

He smirked at me. "What is your relationship with my nephew?"

Is this guy serious right now? "We're together."

"Together how?"

I narrowed my eyes at him. "He is mine and I'm his. Does that answer you question?" I snapped.

Raymond just looked amused by my reaction. "Well since you are apart of Bryce's life now, I would like to ask you has my nephew told you what is going on between him and I? Or better yet who he really is?"

Who he really is?

I frowned a little which only fueled Raymond's amusement even more. "What do you mean?" I asked trying to sound as noneffected as I possibly could.

Raymond chuckled and fiddled with the hair on his chin. "I'll take that as you have no utter clue what is going on at all."

I remained silent because it was true. I didn't know anything about Bryce and what he's about or what his doing. But my gut was telling me whatever this was it was only getting worse. "Why don't you just leave Bryce the fuck alone? It's obvious he doesn't want anything to do with you."

I had no idea where all this buried courage was coming from but it was...electricfying and I liked it. Raymond just stared at me and it seemed like we staid that way for a long time. Raymond was the first one to move. I stilled as he closed in on me. His giant hand gripped my chin in his palm making me look him dead in his eyes. His eyes were the same shade of brown as Bryce's expect Raymond's where more green then Bryce's. I was terrofied of this man, but I'll be damned if I let him know that. Raymond smirked down at me.

"I think you should get you facts staright before you start assuming the worse of people." Raymond began playing with a curl with his free hand. "And I am a man with very little patience and I do not tolerate a little girl like you talking to me like that."

I narrowed my eyes at him. "Look Shayla, I'm not going to hurt you." His eyes hardened. "But if you ever talk to me like that again. I will without hesiation."

With that he released me from his grip. "You may go now."

Not even wasting anytime I gripped the door handle and dashed out the car slamming it as hard as I could. The car raced off down the street and I couldn't help but feel completely helpess right now. I turned around and gasped. I was home, which only means.

Raymond knows where I live.

"C'mon pick up the damn phone!"

I've been calling Bryce nonstop for the past 20 minutes. Leaving voice mails, text messages, e-mails, Facebook messages, anything that I could get ahold of Bryce with. But he didn't respond to anything. I'm over here on the edge and when I need him the most, he isn't here. Hearing his voice mail again, I slammed the phone down on the bed. I hadn't known I was shaking until I finally stilled. What the hell have I gotten myself into?

My phone began buzzing and I quickly answered it. "Bryce where-"

"Princess it's me."

I frowned. "Oh sorry Jay, I thought you was.."

He chuckled. "Bryce, I know."

I sat down on the bed. "What'd you call for?"

"Just come outside and get in the damn car woman."

Before I could say anything else the line went dead. I shook my head, grabbing my things and headed downstairs. I needed to see Bryce and when I see him...he is gonna get it. Jay's car was parked perfectly in my driveway and I hopped in the passenger seat. Neither Jay or I said anything until we got on the road towards Bryce's place.

"So are you going to tell me what's going on with Bryce?" I asked.

He shook his head. "It's not my place Princess."

"What do you mean? I'm you're best friend aren't I?"

Jay frowned at me. "Don't do that."

"Do what?"

"Try to use the guilt trip on me."

"No I'm not."

He chuckled. "Yeah whatever. You might as well give up trying to interrogate me because I'm not telling you shit. You gotta wait to talk to Bryce. He'll-"

"This is bullshit!"

Jay shook his head. "Calm down Shay. Worrying about it isn't going to change the outcome. Just be patient which I know is a lot to ask you since you don't have a patient bone in your body."

I scoffed. "I do so."

Jay laughed. "Yeah we'll see."

We finally made it to Bryce's house after that and we both got out of the car and headed up into the massive house. There was only a few cars parked in the driveway, so I'm guessing the crew and Fenix is probably here. Which ain't gonna change that fact that his ass is about to get chewed the fuck out. I nearly kicked in the door when we reached the porch.

"Told you. No patience."

Ignoring Jay's teasing I headed straight for Bryce's office. I didn't know why I went there first, but I did. I sung open the door to find Bryce sitting on the couch rolling up a blunt on his lap. He looked up at me with a sly smile and I guess he noticed that I wasn't in a good mood, he frowned.

"What's wrong?" he asked setting the half way rolled blunt aside.

"What's wrong? What's wrong?!" I screamed. "Where the fuck have you been?! I've been calling you nonstop but you didn't answer!"

Bryce stood now and was walking towards me slowly. "I'm sorry Bambi, my phone was turned off. What's the matter? What happened?"

"Your uncle happened!"

He frowned. "What you talking about?"

"You're stupid ass uncle got his fucking boys to kidnap me and put me in his damn car! He asked me what's going on between you and I and I told him. Then he asked me if I knew what was going on with you and him and if I really knew who you were. Then after that he left me go and you wanna know where he dropped me off? My fucking house Bryce! He knows where I live! And I was scared and helpless and I didn't know what to do!" I cried out. "I needed you! But you wasn't there!"

Bryce tried to embrace me, but I quickly shoved him away. I could tell he was trying to stay calm but I didn't care. Bryce signed running his hands through his hair. "Look Bambi we need to talk."

"You think?"

Bryce snapped his eyes up at me. They were much darker than before. "Alright what do you want from me Bambi? Huh?"

"I want the truth."

He shook his head. "I used to be apart of a infamous gang Bambi. Remember that day I told you about me saving my house when I was little? Well I didn't didn't you the full story. When my dad died, my uncle basically looked after me and my mom. He told me that I was the man of the house now and it was my job to provide for my family. I was too young to get a job and I was too old to be doing little shit like mowing the lawn and shit. So my uncle gave me a window of opportunity and I couldn't refuse."

"My uncle is one of the most powerful OG's around here and I'm the next to take over since I'm his blood and all his kids are girls. I was only 13 when I started out in the streets. I did the little shit at first like selling drugs and whatnot. Then as I got older and my uncle taught me all there is to know about the game. By the time I turned 16 I was going on jobs and I was the best at what I did. I was all about that life back when I even wanted to be the next OG of the 58 Street Demons. But when I found my mom in my uncle's bed one night and I flipped shit."

"She's been sleeping with him since a little bit before my dad died. My fucking mom stole herself out for money. She really didn't give a damn about me or my sister. All she cared about was buying the newest red bottoms on the market. My uncle was someone I looked up to, but after that day I couldn't respect him."

"I told him that I was done with the 58 and to never fucking talk to me again. And until recently, I haven't seen or spoken to him. He's trying to get me to take over the 58 now but I refuse to go back to that life. My uncle is the Chief in command around here, everybody or somebody has to answer to him. My uncle found out that I owe him over a quarter million dollars because of I was in command of one of the jobs going on one day."

"And since I'm not coughing up the money, he's coming after you. Since he knows that you're my girl he's going to use you to get to me in any aspect possible. But I'm not going to let anything happen to you. I can promise you that."

My mind was completely shut off, I didn't know what to do. I didn't know what to say. Bryce just patiently waiting for me to respond. But I couldn't it felt as if all the wind had been knocked out of me and all was left was me gasping for air. I looked up at Bryce, all traces of the Bryce I knew, just gone. The Bryce I was looking at was someone else. Everything around me was beginning to feel too close, too tight around me. I needed to get out of here, and I did.

Quickly turning on my heels, I dashed out the office quickly. Not before I heard a loud cracking sound coming from the office. My vision was blurring due to the amount of stubborn tears pooling my eyes. I didn't even notice where I was going until I knelt down into the soft damp sand. I bit down hard on my lip so the sobs wouldn't dare come out.

Who he really is.

Who he really is.

That's all I could think of. Who Bryce really is, and he was the man that I didn't know about his past. Who's was a former gang banger, who has blood on his hands. The same person that I've fallen in love with. The same person that as of right now, I can't do without. I thought I had family drama but Bryce takes the cake on this one.

"Bambi,"

I didn't move an inch even though hearing how broken he was in his voice made me squirm. "You don't deserve any of this and I'll understand if you don't want to be with me anymore."

I signed as he took a seat next to me. "Bryce I-" I trailed off trying to get all my words together. "I'm not used to all of this. Before you I was just a quiet girl with a lot of problems that nobody seemed to care about. Then you come along and show me all these great things and how to be happy. Deep down I knew you came along with some baggage, but you're going to have to give me a little time to adjust to all of this."

Bryce didn't even look at me, he just stared aimlessly at the ocean in front of us. "Who would I be to leave you now, when you need me the most? I'm not going anywhere Bryce."

Slowly, Bryce turned and looked at me. His gorgeous eyes was hazy as he stared at me. "Bambi I'm not asking you to stick around for what's to come."

I grasped his hand in mine. "No you didn't and you didn't have to. Because I'm going to be by your side no matter what."

"But-"

"No more buts Bryce. You need to stop pushing me away when the tough gets goings. You need to believe me when I saw I'm in this, all of it."

Bryce scoffed and shook his head. "Fuck Bambi I l-"

Before I let him say anything else I kissed him with all the passion I possibly could come up with in my body. I meant everything I said, I was going to be with Bryce no matter what the cost was. Because that's how much I loved him. Truth be told I am scared shitless of what's going to come but I have to let me fear go and let my love raise above it all. Because Bryce is worth it all in the end.

Third Peron's POV

The hospital was empty surprisingly, besides the numerous doctors and nurses hanging about. The man dressed for the part walked with his head held high towards his destination. Some of the female nurses were surprised by how good looking the man is and why was he here of all places. The man just smiled in return, not even fazed by their stares.

He approached the front desk with a pale brunette behind the front desk. "Can I help you sir?" she spoke.

He flashed her a friendly smile. "Yes ma'am. I would like to know where Doctor Dennis's office is please."

The brunette nodded. "She's in down the hall and her office number is 247."

"Thank you." the man said before heading towards the office.

Rule one: Always be one step ahead of your enemies.

And the time of the matter is called for rule number one to take into action. He stopped in front of the cherry wood door with the silver engraved 247 on it. He nodded swiftly and about a second or two later a beautiful light skinned woman with milk chocolate eyes stood before him. He was taken back by how beautiful she was. But he shouldn't be too surprised; she is the mother of Shayla Dennis after all.

"Can I help you?" her voice came out like milk and honey.

The man smiled. "Yes, are you Doctor Dennis?"

The woman nodded. "I am, is there something wrong?"

The man shook his head. "No. May I come in?"

Dr. Dennis was hesitate at first but soon stepped back to allow the handsome stranger in her office. She couldn't deny he was strikingly handsome but also very familiar in a sort. The man stood a seat in her burgundy colored love seat as she took her usual spot in her office chair. Placing her chin neatly on her hands she spoke; "And what can I help you with Mr.-"

"Kelly. Raymond Kelly."
