Jade trudged along the soft, damp moss of the forest path. The tree's soft whisper against the wind was like a lullaby, soothing and warm. It was so welcoming and calm. The feeling of security was all around when, abruptly, everything changed. Her light smooth steps, turned to rough ridged stomps on the tough, rock path filled with twigs. She could no longer hear the tree's swaying movements with the breeze, they were replaced with the snapping sound of twigs being crushed behind her. For a second she could have sworn there was someone following her, her crunching foot steps were not alone. she jerked her head to get a quick glimpse of what she thought was a tall man, towering over her, but she soon came to realize it was just a thin tree, bending close-to close to the path. Frightened of her surroundings, she began to sprint. The eerie dark, green forest past in a blur beside her. she felt betrayed, like the sweet, welcoming forest had tricked her, lured her into this hell she was now trying to escape. There was still some light left in the sky, quickly being submerged by deep grey, smokey clouds. she did not want to still be here when the only thing that somewhat kept the slight feeling of safety in her heart, disappeared behind the darkness.
The pebbled path blurred below her as she felt a surge of adrenaline. The steady thump of her footsteps echoed in her ears and she felt a bead of sweat roll down her forehead. The only things stopping her from escaping the woods was her physical limits.The night had always exhilarated her; allowed her a freedom seldom experienced in her station. Behind the cloak of darkness, she could run like the tall-horned stag, waving his white tail in a gesture of peace instead of alarm. Her laughter, breathless and sporadic, was an even cadence that mingled fluently with the nightly chorus sung by the woodland beasts.
As the canopy overhead thickened, her steps grew muffled by the pine needles that blanketed the forest floor; the ground no longer cold beneath her soles. She paused. Suddenly slots-slashed across her chest as a broad shoulder collided with her.
"OW!" She cried out, Jade turned rubbing her shoulder, looking for an explanation, she looked up to see familiar eyes filled with a atrabilious gloom shading the infective positivity which he normally beheld.
"Jade! You came! I thought you'd never forgive me!" Davids cockiness soon became present.
"David what the bloody hell are you talking about?" Her eyes roved.
"My messages...why else would you be here?" He skeptically scanned her, while she pulled out her phone to see:
New seven messages from David:
David: I'm really sorry please I promise it won't happen again! xxxx
David: We need to talk...
David: Meet? xx
David: Please answer me!!
David: Meet me in the woods along the path? x
David: I'm getting the impression your still angry at me. xx
David: I'll be waiting...
Jade looked up at David, who's gazed studied Jade warily.
"That is why your here right?-For me- I mean for us... not anybody else?" He stood with his hands placed behind his back anticipating her response.
"Yeah, yeah of course!" she sighed.
"Jade I am really sorry!" He gingerly solidified becoming less confident by the second.
"I know David stop apologising, the only reason I didn't respond to your apology is because I had some family issue alright-I know it was a shitty thing to do, so I'm sorry too!" She smiled.
"So we good?" He asked. she nodded, he gladly wrapped his arms around her and embraced her into a hug.
"EWW! why are you wet?" He asked.
"err... I fell in a lake!"
"Oh my god are you alright?" his face dropped with fear.
"I'm fine, stupid your starting to sound like my mum!" she giggled.
"Nah I'm the Daddy type!" he smirked.
"Seriously not you too!" his eyebrows furrowed.
"What do you mean not you too?" He questioned.
"Never mind lets go!" she grabbed his wrist and urged him along.
"No I've packed us a picnic!- I made grilled New york strip steaks, that I had marinated in balsamic vinegar and seasoned with salt and pepper. I have also par boiled some baby white potato's, and tossed them in olive oil, red wine vinegar, and herbs. I made a foil packet and placed them on the grill about half an hour before the steaks. And a simple salad of avocado and tomato. Thought it be different than KFC!" He opened a picnic mate and lit candles.
"WOW! I would have been happy with KFC!" He laughed.
"Whats the fun in the expected?" he placed his hand in hers.
"What are you doing?" She recoiled under his touch.
"Making a grand gesture?" he shrugged.
"Okay sorry!"
1 hour later
"Truth!" Jade announced as they walked along the path.
"Hmmm...Do you like like anybody and what are they like?" David asked
"Hmm... kind of and he's compassionate and funny, we've had are differences but we've worked them out!" She smiled, " Truth or dare?"
"DARE!"
"Take off your shirt and leave it off!"
"EASY!" He lifted his shirt but all I saw was his perfectly chiseled abs flexing under the light cascading upon us.
"Done checking me out!" He sniggered smugly.
"I pick dare!"
"Okay... give me a quick strip tease!"
"YOU ASKED FOR IT!" She began swaying her hips, starting to pick up the pace, seductively stroking her leg, and then turning to David and slapped him around the face.
"I'm not giving you a strip tease you horny fucker! go watch porn or something!" he laughed.
"Come on you got me naked, its only fair I do the same!" She stared daggers at him.
"Your an Idiot!"
"Truth!" He stated.
"Do you like like anyone?" she sniggered immaturely.
"Yeah..." He gave that quirky smile, it gave her the feeling as if he knew something that she didn't. Caressing her supple cheek, he lifted her chin; their noses almost touching. She could feel the warmth of his breath brushing the top of her lip. She started back into his hardened grey eyes. He moved up the last half inch so their lips could touch. Softly.
"DAVID! I've got to go!"

She scrunched her eyebrows together and tipped her head to the side. The world passed in a blur of Black and white lights. The hiss of the tyres over the smooth tarmac was lost under the pounding bass of Her music.
"Jade are you alright?" Her Dad placed a hand on her knee.
"Fine!" she bluntly added.
Her eyes moved in a saccadic rhythm as she watched the traffic passing by out the window of her car, The wind was getting fiercer now, whistling between trees as it started picking up the leaves of the floor. The stars in the sky were brighter then usual, they were shining and twinkling in the clear black sky. It was like glitter on a black piece of paper. Time was going very slow, She didn't know how to pass time. It was starting to get very cold now, so She curled up into a ball to make sure She stayed warm. As she sat there her mind blank her eyelids started to get heavier and heavier, until a familiar silhouette fluttering within a sea of homeless figures, sleeping on a cardboard bed restlessly.
"DAD! DAD PULL OVER!" he immediately turned into a layby.
"What -whats wrong?" he asked worried.
"See that boy he's a really good friend, but I didn't realise he was homeless!" she sighed.
"Well invited him to stay with us then!- hurry up!" She rushed to his side.
"SUNNIES! HAYDEN!" Hayden looked up an in looking up almost cried.
