As I embrace my love inhaling his scent, I smelled something different on him something weird but I let it go and enjoyed the moment, he pulled back and stared at me with so much emotion running from his eyes, his mouth is formed into a smile, I moved my hand to his cheek caressing his face making sure I wasn't dreaming he leaned in to my hand and putting his hand on mine, tears fell from his eyes as he embraces my hand on his face, probably thinking the same as I was
“Finally” he whispered his eyes still closed and a smile playing on his lips
“Crystal!” I looked up to see Sam smiling down at me tears also running down his face
“Sam” I said with a smile Daniel had already let go of my hand and helping me up I stood up and looked at Sam, he extended his arms towards me and I made my way into them hugging him
“I've missed you so much Crystal Salvador Scott” I laughed and leaned back looking at him
“I've missed you too Sam Scott” he laughed looking at me
“Don't forget about us!” screamed a familiar voice and my face brighten as I looked behind Sam to see Anna and Jenny smiling with tears running down their faces we all ran to meet each other half way, we all jumped into hugs with tears flowing freely
“Never ever leave us again!” said Anna hugging me tight
“And never ever break your promises!” said Jenny leaning back giving me a fake glare and I smiled at both of them
“I'll try not to make promises that I cant keep, and as for never leaving you guys...I'll try” they both nod with small smiles on their faces, I turned to look behind them to see an old man and a young girl standing aside, I could smell the earlier scent I smelled on Daniel radiating off the girl, she was smiling but had tears in her eyes, but she wasn't looking at me, she was looking at someone behind me and I slowly turned to see Daniel, but he wasn't looking at her but at me with a hint of guilt in his eyes but it left as soon as he noticed me looking intently at him I looked back to the girl feeling like there was something going on but before I could ask the old man spoke up
“Hello my Queen” he said walking over extending his arm to me I took it and shook it
“My name is Reginald, i'm the royal physic” I shook his hand and nod
“Nice to meet you Reginald” he smiled and let go I looked around and saw two wolfs in the distance
“Who are they?” I asked no one in particular and Jenny answered
“My royal body guards” I nod but my eyes ran around looking every where trying to find the one person I was actually thrilled to meet but I couldn't find her
“Where is my daughter?” I asked again to no one in particular
“She's sleeping at home” answered Daniel no next to me, my body stiffened worried about my daughters safety
“Don't worry we have a dozen vampire and werewolf guards around the castle and my parents are there with her too” Daniel answered I nod but I didn't relax
“Lets go, I want to see her” I said looking to everyone, they all nod and Jenny turned to her wolf getting ready to run, her royal guards stood next to her just waiting for her signal I turned to look at Daniel looking at him with a small smile and grabbed his hand, but I didn't miss the small sound of someone gasping and I knew who it was but I let it go
“Shall we?” I asked and he nods looking at me lovingly we started running through the forest followed by my small family and the two new members, although I kinda felt like the girl is somewhat untrustworthy but I shoved it back and kept on running excited to see my daughter I didn't even bother going through the doors I just jumped to the first balcony knowing that she was there, I landed gracefully on the concrete and slowly made my way to the doors seeing the slightly dim light in the room, I slowly opened the door and walked in to see my beautiful little girl sleeping on the bed, tears fell from my eyes as I walked near the bed
She looked like me I thought as I neared her she slowly steered and opened her innocent little eyes to look at me, realization hits her eyes and huge smile formed on her full lips
“Momma!” she exclaimed my heart melted even more I sat on the bed next to her
“Hi baby girl” I opened my arms for her to jump on to me and she did, she hugged me tight and I did the same tears fell from my eyes as I held her to me tighter, she leaned back with a smile on her little face, I looked at her, she was very beautiful, innocent and all mine
“I've missed you mama!” she said in her cute little voice and I smiled
“I miss you too baby girl” she smiled, the door opened but I didn't bother to see who it was, she turned to look at the door, her soft curly hair bounced with the movement
“Daddy, mama is back!” she said excitedly
“Yes she is baby” he said coming closer to us I could smell the girls scent on him, it smelt fresh but I shoved it back for later, he kissed my temple and stared at our daughter
“Are you leaving me again mama?” it broke my heart when she asked me that
“Never again baby girl, never again” I said the last part as a whisper, she smiled so big
“Hop on to your bed” I said pulling the covers aside, she went to lay down and I lay beside her staring at her yawning
“Good night mama” she said her voice tired I smiled
“Good night baby girl” I said caressing her beautiful hair I felt the bed dip behind me and I knew Daniel was laying next to me his arm came around my waist holding me tight, and for this time only I let him, I shoved my anger aside and enjoyed this little moment knowing that later on its gonna be different, I stared at my beautiful little girl till I fell asleep
I felt cold, very cold I slowly opened my eyes looking around the dark room, my head not registering where I was, I blinked a few times to adjust my eye sight to the darkness I looked around and saw the pink walls, with wall stickers of 'Princess' and flowers all over the walls then I saw the small pink tea party table and chairs on the far side wall and the small couch in the middle facing the fire place something moved next to me and I looked down to see my little girl and it all came back to me, I smiled looking down at her I kissed her forehead and covered her I turned to look behind me to see an empty spot next to me I slowly got off the bed and walked towards the door carefully and quietly not to wake up Eva, I did the same with the door and as soon as I shut it I looked around I saw that our room was across from Eva's room I looked down at my tattered dress
“Huh” I said confused I didn't even notice the dress I had on or how it looked like, I decided to change before I go look for Daniel, I walked into our room and noticed the fading scent of Daniel, like he hasn't been in here for a long time, which made me feel sad and angry, sad for the pain he had for losing me, then anger for something I hope he didn't do
I grabbed a pair of jeans and a tank-top and walked to the bathroom for a quick shower, after I had done dressing up I walked out trying to catch his scent but it was a little hard cause its every where, I could just ask him knowing he'll hear me if his walking around, but I wanted to surprise him I walked towards the left hallway I walked down the stairs towards his office, I turned a corner and froze in my tracks, my heart stopped and my breath left my lungs,my body frozen to the floor, and my eyes wide in shock, and disbelief
“W-w” I couldn't form words I wanted to scream out 'What the hell?!' but my voice was a whisper and my mouth couldn't form any words
“No!” he screamed shoving her aside wiping his lips
“I cant do this!” he said looking at her, his back was to me so he didn't see me frozen in place there but I had saw that the girl had saw me but the glint in her eyes made me know that she was up to no good and that the next part is going to break me
“Why? I thought you like it” she said batting her eye lashes
“No, It was just one time” he said shaking his head, I felt like I was forced to watch a horrible movie playing in-front of me
“One time? Ha! It was more than one time!” she exclaimed her hand moving to his arm and he moved back
“No!” he screamed at her shaking his head he turned around to walk away and froze as he saw me still in the same position, same facial expression he looked even more shocked than me
“Crystal...” he said softly but the damaged had been done, I heard and saw everything I needed to know to prove my suspicions he slowly raised his arms up in front of him and took a small step forwards, his action snapped me out of my shocked stance and into a deadly pissed off woman as soon as he blinked I ran faster then ever towards them but my eyes were set on the girl she was smirking at me like she just won some silent battle, she didn't even see me coming too, I grabbed her neck hard and shoved her to the wall feeling my power tingling through my body
“Crystal!” I heard Daniel scream my name but I ignored him I stared at the now frighten woman in my hold
“You dare mess with me” I said looking at her she had duged her nails in my skin but I didn't feel anything but hate and anger
“You really messed with the wrong person” I said my left arm was holding her up and I shoved my right hand in her chest holding her heart in my hands
“A broken heart for a broken heart” I squeezed her beating heart in my hand she screamed and I could hear Daniel screaming at me to stop, I turned to look at him and saw that he was stuck, he pounded on the invisible wall looking at me and to her his mouth forming the words 'stop' but nothing can stop me right now he looked at me again but this time he looked shocked
“Betrayer!” I screamed and my hand started to squeeze hard on her heart as she screamed
“Crystal” I turned to my other side to see Sam walking cautiously towards us
“Please stop, Evangeline is crying” when he said my daughters name my hand stopped squeezing, and looked at him shaking my head a little
“She wants her mama” I shook my head again trying to get out of the faze I was in
“That's it Crystal, slowly let her go and lets go see Evangeline” he said slowly I shook my head again and slowly pulled my hand out of her chest all the sudden I felt arms on my shoulder and smelt Sam's scent, he slowly pulled me away from them and I saw Daniel running to her to check her pulse tears fell from my eyes as my heart broke Daniel stood up and extended his arms towards me but I backed away from him and into Sam's arms
“Crystal” he said softly but I was to hurt, to angry to even face him
“Do not ever call my name again” I said slowly walking away with Sam holding me up right, I felt so weak that I could walk on my own, Sam held me up for a while but I had to gather myself up before I head to my daughters room, I didn't want her to see me weak, we stopped and I let go of Sam's arms that where holding my arms and waist
“Are you ok?” I nod taking deep breaths I could feel Sam's concerns but I ignored it
“Are you sure your fine?” I nod exhaling
“Yes I am” I said standing up straight exhaling another breath and proceed to walk it with a fake smile on my face, she looked up at me her face puffy from crying
“Mama I had a nightmare” she said tears fell from her eyes, I smiled and climbed into bed with her
“What was your nightmare baby?” I asked cuddling her to me and she sobbed a little
“I dreamt that you went away again” I closed my eyes shut and held her to me
“I will never go any were, and even if I do I will always find a way back to you...promise” tears started to fall because it was the same thing I had said to Daniel and I kept my promise, but he didn't keep his
“Mama” I shoved the thoughts behind and looked down at my daughter
“Yes baby” she smiled showing her perfect white teeth
“I love you” I almost cried but I stopped the tears from falling
“I love you too my little angel!” I hugged her and she made her self comfortable and slept soundlessly I walked out closing the door and fell to the floor with fresh tears of sorrow, my heart felt so broken and betrayed, I slowly got up stumbling over my legs, I ran not knowing where i'm going I just wanted to get as far away from there so I could let out the scream that has been wanting to let out, I reached the balcony, I jumped down to the gardens and let out my screams knowing no one will hear but hoping he heard me
I fell on my knees sitting on my legs I looked up at the sky letting out another scream, why didn't I see it when I was up there? How long was I up there? How long was I so blinded by his betrayal? All these question ran in my head as I say on my legs just staring on to the sky hoping I get an answer
“Crystal?” instead I got him I stood up and glared at him
“Leave me alone Daniel!” he looked at me with a sad face his eyes were showing how much guilt he was in I wasn't sure if he was guilty he got caught or guilty cause of what he has put me through and I wanted to just break him in half take his heart out feed it to the dogs, I wanted him dead that's what I wanted, but deep inside it wasn't what I wanted
“Please let me explain” he took a step forwards and I backwards his right arm extended to me but I refuse to take it
“It was a moment of weakness” I was still glaring at him not believing every words he said but a part of me wanted to, but it was easily crushed
“I wanted to feel someone's touch, I wanted your touch but...” he trailed off his arm is now on his side and he glared at the ground
“You know what...I should be mad at you, you left me” I laughed humourlessly at his statement
“So me sacrificing my life for your return made it ok to fuck her and turn everything around on me?” I laughed humourlessly again
“I didn't ask you to die!” I shook my head at him
“You asked me to bring you back, to save you and for that to happen I had to make a sacrifice! How many times have we been through this, and how many times have you lost me and still your to naïve to see that I have to die but I still comeback for you no matter what!” I screamed at him pointing my pointer finger at him but still keeping a distance
“You didn't have to die!” he screamed at me and it boiled my blood
“You stupid son of a bitch! What was I suppose to do? save you and let the others die! Or just let the world die and save you!” by then my mood has alter the elements making it pouring rain
“No one had to die!” he screamed back
“A sacrifice had to be done to save you, your life was to valuable for them! To save you one must die! And I died saving you, but you didn't have the common sense to acknowledge my sacrifice, to have faith in me to keep my promise to always come back to you!” he didn't say a word he stood there staring at me he finally realized what I was saying
“I died for you Daniel, I died for our daughter, for our family, but with a promise...that I will always find a way to come back....for you” tears fell and my voice cracked a little we stood still under the cloudy night, getting soak to the bone by the rain
“How can I fix this?” he finally asked and I shook my head
“You can't fix it” I shook my head he stared at me begging me to tell him how but the damage is done there isn't anything he could do to fix what he has broken
“Please let me fix it!” he begged but I shook my head
“There's nothing left to fix Daniel” I said then I ran as fast as my legs could go, I will let myself go just for tonight, and after tonight it will all change
I could feel someone following me I looked back to see that he was following me, he had this look of determination on his face and it made me push even harder, I felt him coming closer so I jumped to a tree and to another I did this with a few more other trees then I started running, hoping he'll get distracted with the tree's but of course he didn't give up following me, I saw up ahead a water fall, my head telling me it might be the best option, as I neared it I used my legs to push me off the cliff my hands in-front of me getting ready to dive, but he caught my legs and flung me to land, I twisted my body so I landed on my legs instead of my head
“You will not walk away from me!” he screamed I looked up to see his red eyes glowing and his fangs bared, and his action pissed me off
“You dare bare your threat at me threatening me!” I screamed and he just stood there
“We will talk about this” he demanded
“There is nothing to talk about” I know I was just mad when I said that but I didn't really mean what I said
“you do not undermine my authority!” then he threw himself at me his hands balled into fist and he aimed it at my face but I moved the opposite side making him stumble he turned around fast and ran to me again this time I didn't see him coming and he tackled me to the ground pinning my arms to the ground
“We will talk!” he demanded I glared at him
“When hell freezes over!” I said then I lifted my head and used it to hit his face making him let go, then I straddle him punching him over and over again letting my anger out on him he caught my arm after the sixth hit and pushed me back making me fall on my back but I was fast and flipped over getting up I saw he was running towards me, I waited till he came close to me and lifted my leg and smashed it to his face making him fall hard then I twisted behind him moving his head aside to show his neck, my fangs visible then I bit into his neck, his hand trying to grab me but I took a hold on it and twisted it behind his back making him groan
My hold on him was very tight every time he moves his arm its just gonna make it painful and possibly be broken, I took some of his blood making him a little weaker, then I marked him the mark of the betrayal, for as long as I live with a broken heart he has the option to win me over, or bare the mark and do what it means, but the mark wont go anywhere as long as I live, the only time it comes off if he wins me over or if i'm dead again but I don't see myself dying any time soon
“Don't under estimate my power, and don't estimate me!” he laid on the the ground groaning
“I am someone you should fear, as of today I am your worst enemy!” he coughed rolling to his side and holding his mark
“You can try to win me back, but let it be known its gonna take a hell lot of convincing to get me back!” I kicked him once then turned around and ran, despite my leg being hurt I ignored it and ran back to the castle, I was met by Sam, Anna, Jenny and the old guy Reginald
“I know its not my place to say but you need to know the meaning of this mark, the-” he was cut off by my glare
“I know I haven't been a vampire for too long Reginald! But I assure you I know everything that got to do with that mark!” I was up in his face now glaring down at him he swallowed a lump and nods
“Anyone here object to what I just did speak now!” my voice boomed through the castle walls, they all stood with heads bowed except Jenny, she just stood there quietly I turned around and stomped my way to the library, that place always calms me down, I sat on the sofa and glared at nothing in particular, my thoughts ran from here to there about everything that had happened, questions upon questions, I felt my head spin
“Sam!” I said knowing he could hear me since he was just outside the door, he came in closing the door behind him, then he turned to look at me
“You ok? You look like hell” I rolled my eyes at his comment
“I feel like I just crawled out of there too” I said sighing leaning back on my chair
“I have questions that need answers and I would like to hear them from you” he nods
“How long have I been dead?” I looked up at him, he sighed and looked at the floor
“5 years” I too looked at the floor
“How long has he been screwing her?” it pained me to ask but I needed to know
“Just once, that happened before the first sign of your arrival” I closed my eyes and took a deep breath
“That you know of” I said completing what is on his mind and his nod confirmed it
“When was my first sign of arrival?” he looked at me and smiled
“Eva dreamt of you coming back, she dreamt of you training her to fight” he smiled fondly I and I smiled mirroring his smile
“She was so excited about it she couldn't go back to sleep” he chuckled
“But we thought it was just a dream of hers but two days later Reginald got a vision of your arrival, and that's when it happened” our smiles dropped and we fell in silence
“Do you think I was mean to put a mark on him?” I looked up at his face wanting his honest opinion and he looked at me knowing that I needed to see his reaction
“Yes and No...Yes just because the small brotherly part of me is telling me and No because that sensible side of me” I looked at him confused
“Explain please” and he chuckled
“My brotherly side is telling me that you were because I don't want my brother walking around with a betrayal tattoo on his neck, but my sensible side is telling me that you did the right thing, but to be honest” he stopped looking at me kinda weary
“go on” I encourage him
“I think you guys need this separation, you been dead for 5 years and his been lonely for 5 years, I'm not saying what he did was ok but i'm saying his a man he has urges, but still he should have waited for you, especially knowing that you were coming back, I just think you guys need to find yourself's first before sparking the light again” I was staring at the floor now, nodding to what he was saying I admit I fell for him fast I didn't even stop to think about taking it slow
“Thank you for your honesty Sam” I said looking at him with a smile he smiled back
“Any time Crystal” I hugged him
“Now i'm going to go check on Evangeline, and you just stay here and relax” I nod pulling back from the hug, he kissed my forehead and got up to leave, I sat back on the sofa my head lost in thoughts.
