(Niall's P.O.V.)
I slowly rolled over in bed trying not to wake my sleeping girlfriend. I had gone to bed feeling more drained than normal. Now I was lying awake at two in the morning fighting off the nausea in my stomach. We had a crazy busy day today with an interview, sound check then a concert that night. I carefully got out of bed, checking to make sure Y/N was still sleeping. I walked into the hotel bathroom and closed the door behind me. I went to the sink and splashed my face with cold water. When I looked at myself in the mirror I looked absolutely dreadful. I searched around and Y/N's bag hoping she had some medicine. To my luck she did. I gulped down a capful of the pink medicine then crawled back in bed with her.
When my alarm went off a few hours later not only did my stomach still hurt but now my head was pounding. I quickly shut off the alarm and got out of bed. Y/N rolled over and rubbed her eyes.
"Morning Nialler," she smiled.
"Morning beautiful, I'm gonna get in the shower real quick," I smiled trying to act normal. I went into the bathroom and turned the shower on. Before I got in a gulped down some more medicine. The longer I stood in the shower to more nauseous I got. I got out and started to get dressed. I was avoiding Y/N because I knew she would notice how awful I looked. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful. I was packing up the rest of my things when she came up to me. She knelt down and kissed my cheek then pulled back.
"Nialler you feeling ok? You feel a bit warm," she said putting her hand on by head.
"I'm fine, yeah," I lied. She wasn't buying it.
"Are you sure Niall, you look a bit pale," she persisted.
"Promise," I lied again. I hated lying to her but I really couldn't afford for anything to know I was sick. She didn't ask again but I knew she wasn't fooled. When we got all of our things in our suitcases we walked down to meet up with the other boys who were eating breakfast. The smell of the food made my stomach turn. But I knew I had to eat. I reluctantly filled my plate and forced myself to eat it.
"We've got to get moving boys we've got that interview at nine," Liam told us. We all got up and made out way to the bus. I sat down next to Y/N and laid my head on her shoulder. She ran her fingers through my hair while she talked to Louis. I shut my eyes and focused on my breathing hoping to keep my stomach where it belonged. I must have dozed off because next thing I knew Y/N was waking me up.
"Hey bud, we're here." I opened my eyes and sat up. "You sure you're feeling alright?" she asked one last time.
"Just tired. Didn't sleep well last night." That wasn't a complete lie. She nodded then kissed me.
"Alright buddy, good luck." She stayed on the bus while the boys and I got ready. I went in first so I had some time to relax before the interview. My breakfast tossed around in my stomach and I was worried about being sick. When Lou was done with me I hid in from the other boys in the bathroom. I had become extremely nauseous and that seemed like the safest place for me. After sitting on the floor for about ten minutes I felt my throat get tight as I began to gag. I turned my head over the toilet as my breakfast made its way back up my throat. I retched painfully for a few minutes before I felt well enough to stand again. I made my way back to the boys pretending that nothing had happened.
"Hey there you are, where you been?" Liam asked.
"Just walking around," I lied.
"You all ready then?" Liam asked. I nodded. We were led into a room and sat down on a couch and waited for the women interviewing us to come in. I stayed pretty quiet while the others boys chatted to each other. They didn't seem to notice. When the women came into the room the other boys got quiet.
"Morning boys," she smiled. She sat down across from us and started talking to us. I started to feel sick to my stomach again. I squirmed around in my seat and Harry turned at looked at me.
"Alright?" he whispered. I just nodded. He nodded then looked back at the interviewer. I wasn't sure I was going to make it through the whole thing. I counted my lucky stars when the interview ended. We started to head back to the bus.
"I'm gonna hit the toilet really quick," I told them.
"Why not just use the one on the bus?" Louis asked.
"This is quicker," I lied heading off the restroom. I got in and found myself knelt down in front of the toilet once again. I held my stomach as it seized up repeatedly. When I was finished it took me a minute to catch my breath. I stood up as soon as I could and went back to the bus. The boys and Y/N were all talking about the show that night.
"Hey babe, there you are," Y/N smiled.
"Sorry about that." I sat down next to her and put my arm around her. I tried to act normal and talked with them all the way to the stadium. We walked onto the stage and grabbed our mics. Y/N sat down in the seats like she always did and watched us. I managed to make it through the whole sound check but not without all the guys thinking something was wrong. When we walked off the stage Liam was the first that stopped me.
"Hey mate you alright? You sounded a bit tired out there."
"Yeah, I'm gonna rest for a bit before the show I'll be fine." He nodded and patted my back. I went back to my dressing room were Y/N was waiting for me.
"Hey babe," she smiled. "You alright?"
"Yeah perfect. I'm just gonna lay down for a little bit."
"Alright sweetie, here I'll stay with you." She pulled me down and I laid across her lap. She ran her fingers through my hair which I loved. I was able to relax a little. Next thing I knew I was sound asleep.
Y/N woke me up what seemed like only a few minutes later.
"Nialler, you got to get ready." I rubbed my eyes and looked up at her.
"What time is it?" I asked groggily.
"It's 6:30."
"That's impossible I've only been asleep for a few minutes."
"Niall you've been asleep for two hours. Babe I'm worried you're getting sick."
"I'm alright, I'm getting up." I got up slowly and went to get my hair done. I sat in Lou's chair once again and listened to her talk.
"Nialler you feel a bit warm. You feeling ok?" she asked me.
"Yeah, just woke up from a nap actually couldn't be better." At this point I wasn't fooling anyone.
"You sure sweetie?"
"Yeah, really excited for this show." Lou stopped asking me questions and just got me ready.
"Alright Nialler, looks like you're all set."
"Thanks Lou." I stood up and hugged her.
"Good luck tonight." I smiled as I walked out the door. As soon as I was out of sight I rushed to the bathroom dropping to knees once again. I retched and gagged until there was nothing left which left me dry heaving. I felt awful. I was really starting to regret not telling anyone. I had to take a minute to catch my breath. I was so weak. I stood up and stumbled. I stabled myself on the wall until the dizziness passed. I took a deep breath then walked out to meet the boys.
"Ready Nialler?" Liam asked. I just nodded. I grabbed my microphone as we got ready to go on stage.
"Let's do this," Harry smiled. I followed them onto the stage already feeling the sickness back in my stomach. The music for Clouds started and my vision started to blur. I pushed through most of the song but I couldn't make it through the whole thing. The whole room started to spin.
"Niall?" Liam turned and looked at me.
"Help me." My vision went dark and that was the last thing I remember.
I blinked a few times trying to let my eyes adjust to the bright white lights. I looked around and saw Y/N and the boys sitting by my bedside. I tried to sit up but I was stopped by the pain in my head.
"Easy mate, you took quiet a fall," Liam told me.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Your fever was really high Nialler. You were dehydrated too. Doctor said you had probably been throwing up all day," Y/N explained.
"I had," I admitted.
"Why didn't you tell us mate?" Louis asked.
"We were so busy today. I didn't have time to be sick."
"We were really worried about you bud," Y/N sighed.
"I'm sorry guys. The longer I went the more I wished I had say something."
"Do us a favor Niall, next time tell us," Harry teased. I laughed a little.
"Deal." I was released soon after that and the boys and Y/N watched over me the next few days until I was better.
