A week ago, our producer told us that it's been two months since we've met up with Trinity and went on a trip to LA to meet her boyfriend, Jay.
"Oh, yeah! It has been two months," I said.
"Time flew, dude," Max said.
"Who should we call up first?" I asked.
"Let's talk to Jay, then Trinity."
Yesterday, we texted Jay that we wanted to FaceTime with him. He said we could do it today, around 5.
Connecting..
A familiar face appeared on my Mac laptop.
"Hey!" I exclaimed.
"Hey, what's up guys?" Jay asked.
"What's up with you?"
"Nothing. I'm just doing a little studying," he said.
"Of course, of course–gotta keep those grades up. This is your junior year, right?"
"Yeah, we just started a couple of weeks ago."
"Awesome. Uhh, how have things been between you and Trinity?"
"They've been alright. I usually check up on her every now and then to see if she's okay. We've texted each other a couple of times," he said.
"So you guys are just staying friends?"
"I mean, yeah, for now."
"Oh, for now?" I asked and chuckled.
"Yeah. I wanna to be with her again, but I-I really don't know what to do at this point. I'm lost," he said.
"Do you still write? Is it still a way to express your feelings?" Max asked.
"Yes. It's funny you brought that up because I actually wrote a song," Jay said.
"Wow, really?!"
"Yeah.." He smiled.
"What's the song called if you don't mind me asking?" I asked.
"It's called Trust, and it's about our relationship—how I really want her to trust me again, and how we shouldn't throw 3 years of us being together away."
"Cool, cool. How long did it take you to write?"
"Ehh about a week," he said.
"Are we able to hear it?"
"Yeah, I put it on Soundcloud."
"Awesome. We'll check it out," I said.
"Okay. This experience was fun, by the way. Thank you," Jay said.
"Glad we could help. We hope you and Trinity figure things out. Good luck," I said
"Thanks," he replied.
"No problem. See you later."
Jay held up the peace sign, and the video chat ended.
"He sounded a bit sad," Max noticed.
"Yeah, but it's understandable. But it's Trinity's turn–she's always bubbly," I said.
I clicked on her contact.
Connecting...
"Hey!" We greeted a smiling Trinity.
"Hey, guys," she said.
"What's up? How's school? I know you guys started recently," I said.
"Yeah, I'm actually in my dorm right now. I got back from class a few minutes ago."
"Cool. Now, I think you know the main reason why we called. How are things with Jay? He told me you guys were friends."
"Yeah, I mean... yeah. We text each other occasionally."
"Do you wish you two were still together?" I asked.
"Sure, but we broke up for a reason," she said.
"Did you know that he recently wrote a song about you?" Max brought up.
She raised her eyebrows.
"Really?"
"Yeah, he told us. It's on his Soundcloud account."
"I bet he told you guys to tell me so I would be tempted to listen to it. Am I right?" she asked with a wide smile and narrowed eyes.
"Definitely wrong. We're not a promo team. Listen to it if you want," I said.
"Okay, I just might...What's the song called?" she asked.
"Trust."
"Trust.." She repeated and bit the inside of her cheek, trying to hold back a grin.
"Well, we just wanted to call and see how things were going. I wish you two could work things out," I spoke.
"Yeah, of course. Thanks. Bye, guys." She said and waved.
"Bye."
Trinity ended the call.
"That's a nice way to wrap up the episode," Max said.
"I liked this episode. It was...eventful."
"Definitely."
I looked into the camera lens Max was holding. "Well, that concludes this episode of Catfish."
I put my hand over the other and covered the lens with them.

I closed out of the FaceTime window, and stared at the home screen of my laptop.
I knew if I'd listened to Jay's song, I would get in my feelings, which I hated, but I really wanted to hear it. I had a feeling it was about our breakup.
What if it was a diss?
I opened up Safari and typed soundcloud.com/justinbieber into the address bar.
The page loaded, and I scrolled down to his Tracks.
I saw Trust, and my heart skipped a beat. I took a deep breath and clicked the Play button.

Why did I listen to this?
Trust was such a beautiful song and knowing it was about me made it more beautiful.
I wiped my eyes to prevent the tears from falling. I hated being so emotional.
The song screamed "Take me back!" but I was whispering no. Of course I missed Jay a lot, and like he said in the song, "Let's be honest with ourselves

To answer his question, no, I didn't want our relationship to end that quickly. For God sakes, I broke up with the man a day after we met, but he had to remember that what he did was wrong. I couldn't just get back together with him that easily.
The door unlocked, and my roommate walked in.
"Hey, Trin," she said and shut the door behind her.
"Hi, Shane," I said.
I shut my laptop and placed it on the floor. I laid back against the headboard and sighed.
"Are you okay?" she asked.
"Mhmm," I replied.
She sat down on her bed and shook her head.
"Is it Jay again?" she asked me.
I sighed and nodded.
"Of course."
"How do I get over him?" I asked.
"It's simple. You don't."
