extra long (over 2,000 words jesus) because there won't be an update for a while,,, i'm going on vacation nice

"Ow, Jimin, that fucking hurts." Yoongi hissed. Jimin sighed as he rubbed the bleach into Yoongi's hair.

"I told you it was going to hurt. But you didn't believe me." Jimin said. He put the shower cap snuggly on Yoongi's head and laughed at how silly he looked. Yoongi glared at him from his position on the toilet and Jimin smiled at him. "We let the bleach sit for a few minutes and then wash it out, and then we can put the actual dye in."

"Alright, hand me my chocolate." Yoongi held his hand out for the candy and Jimin dropped him a few pieces. Yoongi shoved them all into his mouth, and Jimin took it as a chance to talk about Hoseok.

"So, do you really think Hoseok would rather hang out with Taehyung than you? I mean, you've been friends forever, and I'm pretty sure he likes you a lot more than he likes anyone else. Have you seen they way he–"

"Jimin, stop." Yoongi said, resting his hand on Jimin's wrist. Jimin looked down at him and sighed. Yoongi shook his head and clicked his tongue. "It's pointless anyhow, Hoseok is always making other friends, I'm used to him leaving once in a while."

Jimin's eyes widened a little, thinking he'd made a breakthrough. Of course, he thought, Hoseok tries to get over Yoongi by making friends and distancing himself from him. Why didn't I think of that? "Does it make you mad when Hoseok finds new people to hang out with?"

"What is this?" Yoongi asked, wiping some fairy dust off the back of the toilet. Jimin's heart caught in his throat and he hurriedly pushed all of it onto the floor, ignoring the fact that Yoongi had changed the subject.

"Nothing, it's nothing." Jimin said. He laughed awkwardly and continued wiping off the now clean toilet, Yoongi watching him with amusement.

"It's okay, Jimin, you could have told me you were into drag." Yoongi chuckled to himself and Jimin blushed a deep red and punched Yoongi's shoulder.

"Don't test me, I could totally ruin your hair right now." Jimin said. Yoongi pretended to zip his lips closed and sat back on the toilet. Jimin could hear Hoseok and Taehyung laughing loudly next door. He rolled his eyes and sighed, Taehyung was ruining the plan, and if Seokjin yelled at him for messing things up, he couldn't even fathom what he had in store for Taehyung.

Suddenly the laughing stopped and the familiar rings from the Great Book erupted throughout the apartment. "Shit," Jimin muttered to himself, putting down his licorice. Yoongi looked up from his phone, eyebrows knit together in confusion.

"What is tha–"

"Jimin go get Taehyung right now!" Seokjin practically yelled. Jimin could tell he was furious, and Jimin could only think of the stupid things Taehyung could have possibly done.

"Hyung, I'm kind of busy, and there's kind of someone in my apartment." Jimin said, trying to make it seem like he wasn't talking to no one. Yoongi was looking around the bathroom for Jimin's cellphone, but Jimin didn't have a cellphone, he didn't even have a landline.

"Jimin, I will not tell you again, go get Taehyung. Now." Seokjin said. Jimin nodded to no one in particular and held his hand out for Yoongi's house keys. Yoongi dropped them into his palm and Jimin ran out of his apartment as quickly as he could.

Jimin burst into Yoongi's apartment to see Hoseok and Taehyung making out on the couch. Jimin dropped the keys on the floor and crossed his arms over his chest. "Are you fucking kidding me?"

"Jimin," Taehyung said, pulling away from Hoseok. Jimin just looked between the two of them, his mouth agape.

"You have known him for three days!" Jimin said, flipping his arms around manically. He wasn't sure what he was feeling, but betrayed was definitely one of them. Taehyung just looked at him, and Hoseok looked at if he had seen a ghost. Jimin was furious. Taehyung had been sent to help him, not kiss one of the people he was trying to make fall in love. "You– you asshole!"

"Jimin, seriously–" Jimin left the apartment abruptly, leaving the door open and Hoseok and Taehyung staring after him.

"I didn't know you guys were a thing," Hoseok said, Taehyung shook his head and flopped down on the couch next to Hoseok.

Jimin stomped back over to Yoongi's apartment and picked up Yoongi's keys off the floor. "We're not a thing. You can have him, I don't fucking care. I guess I don't matter anyway. You never wanted to help me."

"Is this about your wings?" Taehyung gaped, climbing off the couch. He poked Jimin in the chest and squinted his eyes. "How selfish can you get? I would kill not to have this life, I would die to be normal, to be able to fall in love and get married. Take advantage of this, Jimin. Maybe you're better off a human."

"I can't believe you, you were supposed to help me! Do you even care if I'm stuck here forever? Do you even care that you're breaking the rules? Do you—"

Jimin felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned around to see Yoongi, shower cap still on his head and a gentle smile on his face. "Jimin, enough. You're friend is talking my ear off, I need you back."

"You're dying his hair? You dye my hair." Taehyung said, grabbing one of his pink locks as if to prove his point. He looked suddenly deflated, like someone had taken a pin and pushed it right into his chest where the anger was building and let it all flow out of him like a river.

"Yeah, and I take shits in the bathroom. Thanks, captain obvious." Jimin pushed past Yoongi into the hallway and went back to his apartment, where Seokjin was still talking angrily. He was onto ranting about Jungkook getting stuck in things, and how Namjoon kept breaking things.

"Hyung, I'm sorry, but I have to wash out Yoongi's hair now, I have to go." Jimin said. Yoongi leant his head over the bathtub and Jimin scraped the bleach out of his hair, watching it wash down the drain.

"Did you go get Taehyung? Let me talk to him." Seokjin said. Jimin wrapped a towel around Yoongi's head and sighed.

"No, he's still over at Yoongi's with Hoseok. I'm not bothering with him anymore, I'll handle if by myself." Jimin ran his hands through Yoongi's hair and shook it out. "What do you think about blonde? We could leave it this way."

"What do you think? Would it look better blonde or grey?" Yoongi got off the toilet and looked at himself in Jimin's mirror, running his fingers through his wet hair. "No, I think grey. Let's do grey."

"Alright, I can do that." Jimin put the gloves back on and squeezed the dye into Yoongi's hair. He rubbed it around, not missing the way Yoongi seemed to lean into his touch.

"Are you and Taehyung a thing?" Yoongi asked suddenly. Jimin sighed and shook his head.

"Once in a blue moon. We used to like each other, I guess, but that flittered out because of work stuff. I guess we thought that if work wouldn't let us date other people, we'd have to date each other. Turns out that's not allowed either. We'll probably both die alone. Well, maybe not Taehyung, he'll find a boy to fall in love with and I'll have nine cats all named after the dwarves from the Lord of the Rings."

"You won't die alone, Jimin. You'll find a boy or a girl to love and you'll live together until you're old and decrepit and have to wear diapers. You may still have cats, but you won't be alone, I promise." Yoongi said. Jimin grabbed the shower cap and slipped it back over Yoongi's head.

"You and Taehyung were a thing?" Seokjin's voice rang out. Jimin jumped and brought a hand to his chest, ruining his white shirt with dye. "Why didn't I know about this?"

"Dear god, hyung, I didn't know you were still here." Jimin said. Yoongi laughed slightly and Jimin glared at him. Jimin leant against the door frame and pulled off his gloves as he  listened to Seokjjn ramble about how no one ever tells him anything, and that he always feels out of the loop. "Hyung, seriously, can we talk later?"

"Sure, sure, whatever, no one ever wants to talk to me." Seokjin promptly closed the book and Jimin shook his head.

"He is such a drama queen sometimes, I swear." Jimin said. Yoongi just nodded and went back to typing on his phone. Jimin busied himself picking at his cuticles while Yoongi's hair dye sat.

"Is it done?" Yoongi asked every few minutes. Jimin was exasperated by the time Yoongi's phone dinged, indicating that his hair had dat long enough and they could wash it out. Jimin practically ripped Yoongi's hair out as he washed the dye out of it, and Yoongi grabbed onto his wrists. "Hey, you okay?"

"Perfect, let me finish this or it will set weird. You don't want your hair a fucking weird color, do you?" Jimin said, shaking out Yoongi's hair. Yoongi let him, watching as various emotions ran over his face.

"You like him, don't you? You like Taehyung." Yoongi said once his hair was done and the risk of Jimin ripped his hair out was gone. Jimin laughed dryly and shook his head.

"No, no I don't like him. He pisses me off to no end, and I hate him and he's so annoying, but I love him– platonically. He's my best friend. If we were together it would be like incest." Jimin said, laughing at his past self for thinking that him and Taehyung would work out. "You wouldn't understand, but I feel really betrayed at the moment. I can't tell you why, which is shit, but– you know what, never mind. Never fucking mind."

"I've never heard you curse this much." Yoongi sounded amused, but Jimin was far from it. He glared at Yoongi for a fraction of a second, his fingers twitching to grab his face and punch him. Or kiss him. Jimin wasn't sure, but he wanted to unleash his anger on Yoongi somehow, and how it ended for Yoongi had yet to be decided. Maybe he should kiss Yoongi as a sort of revenge on Taehyung. Jimin wasn't quite sure what it would accomplish, but he'd do it if it meant making Taehyung mad. "Look, I'm going to go home and send Taehyung over here. You two are going to talk, and everything is going to be okay. Okay?"

"Fine, but if I kill him you're paying for the funeral." Jimin said. Yoongi laughed and flashed him a quick smile before leaving the apartment. Taehyung arrived soon after he left and the two of them looked at each other for a few seconds before Taehyung frowned.

"I'm sorry," Taehyung said, moving towards Jimin to hug him. Jimin stepped backwards, nearly tripping over his couch and shook his head.

"You– you're going to make it so I never have my wings back. I know that Hoseok is going to fall for you, it's in your magic, for gods sake. I'm going to fail the mission and never get my wings back and it's going to be your fault." Jimin said, wrapping his arms around himself.

Taehyung dropped his arms and shook his head, laughing to himself. "Well maybe, if you hadn't already fucked up your chances at not failing the mission I wouldn't be here. It's not all me, Jimin. You can't blame me for something that isn't my fault."

"You didn't have to kiss him!" Jimin yelled, stomping his foot. "If you would have stayed in your lane, this wouldn't have happened!"

"I think you're just jealous I never liked you back. Now that I've found someone that might like me back you can't take it." Taehyung said, disposition as calm as ever. Jimin couldn't believe he was so calm. Not when there was so much on the line. "You know you can't fall in love, you know–"

"You've known Hoseok for three days. You've known me for twenty years. I want to know why all the sudden I mean nothing. I want to know why Hoseok is so important– I want to why, after everything we've done together, you betray me by kissing him–"

"You know what, Jimin? You're so damn worried about yourself that you can't see straight. Can't you see that you're living every matchmakers dream? To be able to fall in love with someone who doesn't have wings? To be able to live like and actual person, to be able to put your own happiness first? I know you want your wings back, but I can't even begin to fathom why. You're living the dream, Jimin. I won't see you throw it away over a pair of feathers attached to your back." Taehyung said. Jimin had tuned him out, knowing that he was going to call Jimin selfish. Jimin didn't want love if it meant he couldn't have his wings. If that meant he was self-absorbed then so be it, but he needed his wings. He needed to show them– everyone– that he deserved his wings just as much as the next person.

"This isn't about having my wings, Taehyung!" Jimin yelled, exploding off the wall and grabbing onto Taehyung's collar. "This is about me, Park Jimin, proving that he's not some worthless waste of space. It's about me proving to you, and Jin hyung, and my parents and the Council that I can do this. I may need help, everyone needs help every now and again, but this has to work out for me, Tae. I can't leave this world a loser. If they decide to take my wings away permanently then fine, but I have to prove them wrong. I have to."

Jimin let go of Taehyung's collar and ran his hands over his face, dropping to a crouched position on the floor. He felt Taehyung hovering over him for a few seconds and then he heard the door shut softly. Jimin wanted to cry. He'd messed up the best friendship he'd ever had for nothing. Who cares about wings when you have no one to fly with? Who cares about being able to love when there is no one to love you back?

Jimin felt a pair of arms wrap loosely around him, and the smell of fresh hair dye assaulted his nostrils as Yoongi laid his chin on Jimin's shoulder. "You'll be okay, Jimin. He'll come around. Until then, we can eat licorice and watch reruns of Keeping Up With the Kardashian's."

If Jimin hadn't felt so horrible, he probably would have laughed.
