if you asked min yoongi why he had stopped writing his usual sad, angry lyrics, he would probably lie to you. he'd probably look at you with a straight face, and say that he just isnt a troubled teenager anymore. that he didnt have anymore misery to write about, and thats that. but that isnt the full truth. sure, yoongi had grown up a bit and moved on to more complex topics regarding life, but the reason his lyrics had turned from troubled to something close to poetry, was jimin.
jimins smile turned his words from venom to honey, and there was nothing he could really do to stop that. he couldnt stop the way jimins smile burned into the back of his eyelids and how his voice was forever buried into his mind. it was bound to happen, yoongi had already been drowning in his dark eyes from the moment he met the boy. and, as usual, yoongi just couldnt find himself to admit that to anyone.
when people wonder who the boy with dark hair and oceans for eyes is, yoongi just turns away. says that its just a fictional person he writes about to express how he feels. he doesnt mention how jimins laugh makes him feel drunk and how the way jimins eyes turn into crescents when he smiles makes his stomach flip. he doesnt mention it, because he doesnt know how. yoongis usually good with words when he writes but when it comes to jimin he cant think of a single word to describe how he feels.
and when fans hear his lyrics, its never the same. they all take it differently, each applying it to themselves so it seems like they get it. like they understand what he feels, and how he thinks, but they never really will. every night he spits lyrics to a large crowd, words filling the sticky club air, making all of them feel apart of something. the feeling of the bass in his veins and the rhythm in his head is his favorite thing, but now he cant help but compare it to evenings spent with jimin. and hes afraid those evenings might even be better.
sure, everyone knew, the great min suga is gay. it was a few years back, when news spread of his sexuality, but yoongi couldnt really care less. who hes into shouldnt have to determine what kind of artist he was. and, of course, jimin accepted him immediately, just like the angel he is. granted, he was the same, but it still felt nice to know he wasnt perceived any differently. jimin felt more like home than his own skin and bones, and he knew that he had already fallen.
one night, an especially cold one where yoongi is locked up in his studio working relentlessly on new lyrics, he misses a text. its a short one, but yoongi just cant find it in himself to tear away from his work in fear that he might loose his train of thought. so, he ends up not being able to check his cell phone until the next morning, cursing himself for waiting so long when he finally gets around to reading it.
