I'm changing a few things with the whole ritual thing. But it's pretty much of what happens before the ritual.

Present
I sped down the road passing a sign which read 'Welcome to Mystic Falls'.
It was a small town from the looks of it.
From what I have been told Katerina is here...but so is Klaus. Apparently there Katerina who now goes by Katherine has a doppelgänger named Elena.
I pulled up in front of a restaurant called Mystic Grill.
I guess they do not do originality here.
I step out of my 'borrowed' car.
Walking into the place I walked right to the bar.
"Bourbon please." I say. The blonde bartender nodded before placing a glass in front of me and pouring the liquid inside of it.
"Nat?" I turn my head and smirked.
"Damon Salvatore." I said standing up. He smirked walking over with a man behind him.
We embraced each other.
"Do I want to know?" The man behind him asked. We pulled apart.
"Ric this is a good friend of mine, Natalie Makarov." .
"Really Damon?" He said. Damon rolled his eyes.
"Not like that." He stated. "She's a lesbian." He whispered rather loudly.
"Yes thank you Damon." I said sarcastically. "Oh yes I forgot something." I said before slapping Damon across the face gaining everyone's attention on us.
Ric choked back a laugh.
"That was for never telling me Katherine was never in the tomb." I stated and slapped him on the other cheek. "And that was for not telling me she's in Mystic Falls." Damon adjusted his jaw.
"Hey I'm just saving you from heartbreak okay? She's a heartless bitch who screws everyone over." He stated. A clenched my fists.
"Uh, Damon." Ric said. Damon looked somewhere else and I turned that way to and saw her.....Katherine.
"Katherine." I whispered about to walk over there until Damon grabbed hold of my bicep.
"Easy there my Russian Ballerina." I glare at him for the nickname. "That's not Katherine." I looked over to her again where she was with a guy with blonde hair.
I ripped my arm from his grip.
"So that's the doppelgänger?" I asked him as I stared at her.
She looked just like Katerina. No doubt she is beautiful but she is not Katerina or I should say Katherine.
"They shouldn't be here." Damon mumbled before walking over there. I stayed behind.
"So it is true,no? That Klaus and Katherine are in town." Ric sighed.
"Yea it's true. I would know because Klaus possessed my body." He told me. I lightly scoff.
"Of course he did." I said.
"How do you know Klaus?" He asked me as we sat back at the bar where I drank my bourbon.
"Long story short I knew Katherine when she was still human and I was there when Klaus was supposed to use her for the sacrifice. But as you probably know we escaped and became vampires." I explained.
"Looks like their leaving." I look over at the entrance where Damon, Elena and the guy left.
"I presume the ritual is tomorrow." He nodded.
"Yea. It is."
"Do you know where Katherine is?" I asked him. He nods.
"At my loft. That's where Klaus is staying. He has her under compulsion so she can't leave." I nodded. "But Damon slipped her some vervain so she could resist further compulsion." I nodded.
"I know I just met you but can you get me into your apartment? I have to see her." I told him. He looked hesitant. "Please." I begged.

Ric opens the door to his loft and cautiously walked in.
"You can come in." He told me. I stuck my foot through before stepping in.
'Thank you.' I mouthed. He nodded.
"I don't know how long Klaus will be gone so I suggest you don't stay long." I nodded as he quickly left. I walked further into the place. I came to what appeared to be a living room. I carefully listened for any sound but heard nothing.
Perhaps Klaus moved her elsewhere.
But that's when I heard it. The tiniest creak in the floorboards behind me. I quickly whipped around grabbing the person and pinning them to a nearby wall.
I looked into the persons eyes. The same deep brown eyes I fell in love with century's ago.
He eyes widened her mouth left agape.
"Natalia?" She said. Her face twisted into an almost smug look with an evident smirk on her face. She shoved me off of her before crossing her arms.
"Long time no see." She said acting calm. I looked at her.
She has changed. I looked her over.
"You've changed." I comment. She half-heartedly laughed.
"Well Natalia-" I cut her off.
"Natalie." I stated. She raised an eyebrow.
"Well, Natalie 300 years will do that to you." She said.
"Perhaps."
"You shouldn't be here." She stated, her face becoming void of emotion, dropping her arms to her sides.
"Why, worried?" I asked teasingly. She lightly scoffed.
"Of course not." She lied. "Just because we had a little fling back then doesn't mean I'd be worried about you."
Now it was my turn to scoff.
"Little fling?" I asked incredulously. "We were in love with each other Katerina." I stated.
"First off it's Katherine. Second, we were, as in we used to be in love." I felt a pang in my heart.
I lightly shook my head.
"It broke me after you left.....I didn't even look for you until now. I just...I want to know why. Why you left me." I told her.
It was hard to read her.
"You want to know why I left you?" She asked taking a step forward. "Because I didn't love you. And now isn't changing anything of how I feel about you because honestly I don't care about you."
"Even after all these years I could always tell when you are lying to me." She narrowed her eyes placing her hands on her hips.
"You think I'm lying? Fine. Think however you like because I don't care." She stated. I smirked then shrug.
"If you say so." I said plopping down on a couch.
"What are you doing?" She asks.
"I'm sitting here, waiting for Klaus to come back." I said nonchalantly.
"You do realize he will kill you right?" She said. I look at her amused.
"Careful Katherine it almost sounds like you care about my safety." She look frustrated.
"Can you just leave? You got what you came here for." She stated. I shrug.
"Not until you tell me why you really left." I said standing back up.
"I told you already." She said. I sped in front of her so I was a few inches away from her.
"I don't buy it."
"What don't you buy?" She asks taking a step back.
"That you left because you didn't love me. Your a good actress but your eyes gave it away. I know you better then anyone Katherine." She looks away from me. I gently place my fingers under her chin and made her look at me. Her face was full of regret.
My face was inches away from hers.
"Please." She begged. I closed the gap between us. She grabbed me and slammed me into a wall before putting her lips back to mine into a fiery yet passionate kiss. The sound of the front door opening is what pulled us apart. We were both breathless from the kiss.
Katherine pushed me out an open window.
I bit back a yelp as I fell three stories. But I luckily landed on my feet. I ran off back to my car where I got in a drove off to the Salvatore Boarding House.
