I laughed chastly. "Wonderland? Like the children's movie? I'll be going to find my friend now." I said turning to go back the way I came.
Twiddle Dee stepped in front of me. "We're only trying to help you, Niall."
"You can't help someone who doesn't want it, Dee." His brother chimed. I shook my head.
"Thank you but no thank you." I said turning around again to go the other way.
"He's going to get himself lost."
"Well he was never found in the first place you muppet."
Their banter grew farther and farther away as I continued to walk into the forest. "Liam? This seriously isn't funny. I want to go home, Nando's first, but home all the same."
Hearing no response I kept walking until my feet tired. I sat on a rock and looked around. "Where the fuck am I?"
I heard a soft chuckle behind me and turned around to see nobody there.
"Don't be alarmed." I heard in front of me, the voice sounded familiar. I turn back around and still see nobody.
"Who are you?" I say aloud, standing up, ready to fight if I had to. I'll be damned if I get raped in the woods.
"Now, now. Settle down. Up here, blondie." I heard from above me. I looked up and saw Harry in a tree.
"Harry. Why are you in a tree? Have you seen Liam? What are you wearing?" I ask. He's wearing a striped shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his shoulders, with matching bottoms, ears and a tail. EARS AND A TAIL?!
"My name isn't Harry." He says flicking his tail looking down at me. "I'm the Cheshire Cat. Feel free to call me Ches." He smiled creepily and rolled over lazily.
"Have you seen Liam? He was running around in a white suit and-" I started.
"You mean the White Rabbit? I think he went to see the Mad Hatter." Harry/Ches said before hopping down from the branch, landing lightly on his feet.
"White Rabbit? What are you talking about Harry?" I ask getting slightly annoyed, thickening my accent.
"I told you I'm not Harry. Have you-" He started walking towards me seductively. "Seen the Twiddles, yet? I'm sure they would have told you where you are." He wrapped his tail around my legs softly and walked around me.
"Twiddles? Oh you mean the weird boys who talk in riddles? Yes I've met them. I think they've gone mad, because they think that this place is Wonderland, from the child's movie." I said turning around to keep him in my sight.
"It is Wonderland, most everyone is mad here." He replied simply stopping in front of me, a wide grin on his face. "You're looking for the White Rabbit?"
"No. I'm looking for Liam." I say. He chuckles.
"What does this ' Liam ' look like? I don't recall having any Liam's here in Wonderland." He said, his ears twitching slightly.
"He was wearing all white, and he was running." I said crossing my arms.
"You're talking about the White Rabbit again." Ches laughed. I sat down on my rock.
"I'm talking about Liam! Can you help me find him or not?" I say. I honestly felt like punching him in the face. Annoying cat.
"I can't help you find Liam, but the White Rabit went that way." He said and pointed before hopping back onto his tree branch. He started to hum softly. I looked in the direction he had pointed to.
"And the momeraths outgrabe...." I heard him sing softly, as if he were fading. I looked back to where he was and saw nothing.
"Stupid cat. I mean, Harry." I shook my head and started in the direction he pointed out.
"I probably shouldn't trust him, he's obviously on drugs or something. Most likely whatever the Twiddles are on. Exctasy, maybe. I hope not. His mum wouldn't be happy about that." I was talking to myself, to keep from listening to nothing.
Being in pure silence freaked me out. A tea cup flew past my face and broke on the tree it hit. I stopped walking and looked to see where it came from.
"It's time for tea! Gather round, my little friends. For it's time for tea!" That voice. Louis? I followed his voice and came to a rather long table sitting in the middle of a clearing.
Seated at the table was a mouse, a rabbit - probably the one who dug the hole I fell into- and Louis, who was seated at the end.
They all turned to look at me.
"No." Louis said looking me in the eyes.
"No? I didn't even ask anything." I said.
The rabbit hopped up to me and I fought the urge to kick it. Pesky creatures.
" Would you like to join us for tea?" The rabbit asked me as it's nose twitched.
" Did the rabbit just speak?" I asked backing up a bit.
" I'm a hare, thank you very much.The March Hare to be exact." He said adjusting his waistcoat.
"My apologies. Did the hare just speak?" I hope it sounded sarcastic like I wanted.
Louis nodded. "All animals speak here in Wonderland."
I threw my hands up in defeat. "Again with the Wonderland bullshit."
Louis got up and walked over to me.
"You're rather cute aren't you." His eyes glinted. " This is Wonderland. Didn't you wonder how the Twiddles knew you're name without you telling them?"
I looked up at him. How did they know my name? How the fuck does everyone know I saw the twiddles.
" He should join us for tea, Hatter. Tea calms the maddest of minds." The hare said again then hopped into a chair.
"I'm not mad. You are. The lot of you." I said as Louis grabbed my hand and led to me the end of the table.
"Tsk tsk. You need tea. After tea we'll go see Absolem. He'll know what to do."
"Absolem? Who is that?" I asked as Lou pulled out a seat for me and I sat down.
"He the most wise in all of Wonderland." Said the mouse softly, carrying over the sugar dish. She wore a dainty pink dress and she sat next to my hand.
" I thought everyone was mad here." I said quoting Ches.
" I said most everyone is mad here." Ches appeared across the table with his feet up on the table, a cup of tea in his hand. I rolled my eyes and scoffed.
"Obviously." I said. Lou served me a cup of tea and sat back down in his chair.
"Thanks, Louis." I said reaching for the cup.
"Louis? My name is Mad Hatter, everyone calls me Hatter." He said seriously before sipping from his cup. I shrugged and drank some tea.
"He called me Harry earlier, and the White Rabbit he called Liam." Ches said flicking his tail.
"Speaking of Liam - I mean the White Rabbit. Lou-Hatter, have you seen him?" I asked turning to face him a bit more.
"Of course I have seen him, he is a good friend of mine you know." Hatter replied chuckling.
"He was here recently?" I asked. He shook his head.
"You just said you saw him." I felt my brows knit together.
"Because I have seen him, just not recently." Hatter said setting down the cup.
March looked up and hopped onto the table and started pulling my hand."Move down, move down!" He laughed.
"I was fine where I was." I say as we all move three seats down. I frown as I see that I left my tea behind.
"Ches what brings you here today?" Hatter asked pouring more tea.
"Well, you said you'd visit Absolem. Wouldn't want to miss a prophecy, would I ?" He chuckled raising his eyebrow.
