**Masons POV*
“I can’t believe we get a week off from school for thanksgiving.” I said as I leaned over the pool table with the pool stick in my hand.
“Yeah I know, thank god for renovations.” Rob said with a laugh as I knocked 3 balls into the pockets.
“But its extra time…” I began to say before Rob interrupted me.
“For you to make Andy fall madly in love with you? Yeah, cause extra times what you need.” He said sarcastically as he hit 2 striped balls into the pockets.
“And what does that mean?” I asked annoyed.
“Nothing. Nothing at all.” He said as he shrugged.
“I don’t know about you but for some reason I think this ridiculous plan to get revenge is actually really good for Andy.” Rob said and I looked at him questioningly.
“It’s just they all treated her like shit. She was never able to do anything about it before she left for Paris. No matter how many people threatened them they never stopped. I feel like this is giving her more confidence and its definitely helping her let it go and move on…” he said and I nodded with understanding.
“Yeah, I’ve noticed that too.” I said as I remembered everything she went through in the past.
When they use to torture Andy she never let them see how much it actually hurt her. She never cried, never frowned, never let them see she cared…but she let me see.
Some days after school she would go upstairs and cry herself to sleep, I even remember walking in on her.
Andy was the strongest person I know, but even the strongest people have to let their emotions out.
And I noticed how confident she’s gotten. The way she talked, walked, was totally different. She wasn’t afraid to be noticed anymore…
“Well maybe it wasn’t the best idea making her date guys while you are madly in love with her…” Rob said as he noticed the puzzled look on my face.
“Yeah I see that now…” I said with a sigh.
“I don’t know man, I think you should just tell her how you feel…”Rob said and I looked at him like he was speaking another language.
“No, no, no…I cant! I’ve known her my whole life; we’ve slept in the same bed. Her brothers would murder me and chop me up into a million pieces!” I said frantically.
“Chill out…” Rob said.
“Listen I’m going to tell her…eventually. But I just have to feel her out, see you know if she’ll totally freak out when I tell her. Plus she told me that she probably wont date another guy for a month or two, maybe by then she’ll see how perfect we are together…” I said as I leaned against the wall.
“And then maybe you’ll ride on a horse into the sunset.” Rob said in a high-pitched girl voice as he fluttered his eyelashes.
“You're an ass.” I said.
“No but its serious you know Andy, she is the most oblivious person on planet earth. She wont notice anything.” He said and I shrugged knowing that was definitely true.
“So if that happens then she’s totally going to give up this plan? She’s not going to get revenge on the 2 assholes that deserve it the most? Because if anyone deserves to be heartbroken its Matty and Ryan. That’s like revenge for every girl in our school…” Rob said.
“I don’t know…I don’t know at all.” I said as I nervously ran my fingers through my hair.

“Well hello beautiful, how does it feel to be a single woman?” I asked Andy as she got in my car.
“Nerve wrecking.” She said as she let out a breath.
“What’s your problem?” I asked as I drove down the street.
“Well I was hoping that Michael would let me stay home today since we have a 2 hour assembly,” she said with a sigh.
“Why?” I asked.
“I really don’t want to see Rick, and for some reason I don’t think he’s going to take this break up as easy as Mark did.” She said as she leaned her head against the window.
“Oh you thought that was easy.” I said as I looked at her with wide eyes as we stopped at the red light.
“Well it seemed easy, since I made sure to stay as far away from as I possibly could…” she said with a nervous smile.
“Don’t worry babe, I’ll be right by your side the whole time.” I said as I pulled into the parking lot.
“Thanks Mase, I could always count on you.” She said as I parked the car.
We walked into school side by side with my arm around her waist.
“Chill Andy everything’s going to be fine.” I said before we walked into school and she nodded as she let out a deep breath.
As we got into school I looked around making sure the hallway was clear of Rick which it was, and then continued to walk with Andy into the auditorium.
“Andy, Mase, over here.” We heard Rob say.
We walked to the middle of the auditorium where Rob sat with Eric and Tom. When we finally took our seats I could feel Andy relax beside me.
“Told you it was going to be okay.” I whispered into her ear as the principal stood on the stage with 3 other woman.
Just as she was nodding her phone vibrated in her pocket. When she took it out she saw it was a text from Rick and looked at me nervously.
“What’s it say?” I whispered.
“It says we need to talk…” she said with a sigh.
“What’re you going to say?” I asked and she shrugged. I took her phone from her hands and responded to Rick’s text.
‘There’s nothing to talk about. -A’ I typed and hit send as Andy looked at me questioningly.
‘Yes, there is Andy. –R’ he responded.
“Just ignore him.” I said and she nodded as she put her phone in her pocket and kept her eyes focused on the stage.
“I can’t believe there actually talking about careers.” She said in a whisper.
“I know, time flies when you spent most of it in Paris.” I answered and she laughed.
I spent the rest of the assembly watching Andy listen intently to what the people were saying about planning for the future. I couldn’t help but notice how beautiful she looked as she sat there so interested in what was being said
When the assembly was over I never left Andy’s side. I knew she was worried about seeing Rick and I knew why, he was clearly very persistent.
As we walked out of the auditorium into the hallway I could already see Rick waiting at the end of hall against the lockers.
“Oh no.” Andy said as she noticed him.
“Don’t worry…” I said as I walked beside her.
“Andy can I talk to you…alone.” Rick said as he looked at me.
“Rick, no… I’m not doing this with you” She said as she let out a deep breath.
“Andy please.” Rick said as he took a step closer to her.
“You're the only girl that I actually cared about…” he said and I noticed her look away with sadness.
“It doesn’t matter…” she said.
“Yes it does.” He said as he grabbed her arm firmly and that’s when I decided to get involved.
“Hey man, get your hands off of her.” I said strongly and his eyes met mine with anger.
“Back off Mason.” He said.
“Is there a problem here?” I heard Aiden ask from behind me as he walked towards us with Alex beside him.
Rick stepped back and looked at Alex and Aiden with fire in his eyes but you could tell he would never challenge the twins.
“No.” Rick responded.
“Good, because if there was then we would have a problem.” Alex said and Rick nodded slowly.
“Come on Andy.” Alex said and she followed her brothers out of school leaving Rick and I standing in front of each other.
“Stay away from her…” I said before I left without looking back.
**Andy’s POV**
“So are you going to tell us what that was about?” Alex asked as he and Aiden leaned against the car as I let out a deep breath.
“Nope.” I said popping the p.
“Alrighty then…” Aiden said as Mason called my name.
“Are you okay?” Mase asked and I nodded.
“Are you lying?” he asked and I shrugged.
“I know what exactly what’s going to cheer you up…” he said and I looked at him questioningly.
“A game of one on one.” He said and I smiled.

After I went home and changed into a pair of converse, black basketball shorts, a grey Nike sweatshirt, and my lucky Mets cap covering my long braid.
“Oh look who’s back, shady's back.” I heard Mase say as I walked outside.
“Shut up.” I said as he looked at me with a bright smile and eyes filled with interest.
“What?” I asked him puzzled and he shook his head as we walked side by side down the block to the park.
“Tell me.” I said as I lightly shoved him making him drop the basketball and chase it down the block as I chuckled.
“It’s just…” he began to say as took a deep breath.
“Just…” I continued waiting for him to catch his breath.
“You look like the old you...like before you grew up…” he said and I nodded.
“I see your lucky cap survived.” He said and I laughed.
“I remember when your dad gave it to you, it was way to big for you but you still wore it around.” He said.
“Yeah…”
“You do know I like this you as much as I like all grown up you…” he said after a few moments of silence as we turned the corner.
“Oh really?” I said sarcastically.
“Yup, I know you don’t believe me but its true.” He said and I nodded.
“Well lets see what you think after I kick your ass…” I said with a laugh as we walked into the empty park.
“You wish Payne.” He said as he bounced the ball to me.
“No, I know Louis.” I said as I bounced the ball back to him.
We played together for almost an hour, blocking and shooting, running around the court laughing as we played.
I stood in front of Mason crouched waiting for him to try to take a shot as he dribbled the ball in front of me. Just as he was about to dribble closer to the net I blocked him and stole the ball from him and quickly dribble the ball closer to the hoop and shot the ball into the hoop.
“Swish, that was all net.” I said with a smile.
“So close Mase, but yet so far.” I said with a smile.
“One more Mase and were tied…” I said with a smirk as I bounced the ball in front of him waiting for him to take it. My eyes were concentrated on his green eyes that were so focused on getting the ball. He took the ball from me so quick I almost didn’t see it, but thankfully I did.
Just as Mase was going to hop up and shoot the ball I hopped up with my arms up trying to block his shot. But somehow when Mason shot the ball into the hoop I tripped over his foot causing me to fall over onto Mason.
“Ow…” Mason said after a few moments.
“I’m so sorry Mase.” I said as I lay on top of Mason who laid on top of concrete.
“Are you okay?”
“Yup…” he said.
His face was inches away from mine, for a second my breath caught in my throat. For some reason I was flustered from the position we were in as I watched Masons eyes travel slowly around my face, lingering over my lips.
“Uhm…we should probably get going…” I said as I got up and he nodded.
“Andy, I think you’re bleeding,” he said gesturing towards my knee.
I looked down and lifted up the shorts to see a bloody scrape on my knee.
“Just another scar to add to my wonderful collection.” I said and he laughed.
After that we walked all the way home and I took a shower and got changed into baggy pajamas pants and a small power ranger t-shirt.
“Is anyone feeding me?” I called as I walked into the kitchen.
“Michael and John are working late…” Chris said and I nodded.
“So I guess that means I’m not eating.” I said as I took a seat at the kitchen table.
“Well I’m going out and I have no clue where the twins are.” He said.
“Great…” I said with a sigh.
After I walked down the block to Masons house and knocked on the door.
“Oh hello Andy come in.” Masons father said with a smile.
“Thanks Mr. Louis.” I said.
“Andy for the millionth time call me Tommy, I know you long enough for you to be calling me Dad.” He said and I chuckled.
“Sorry Tommy.” I said with a smile.
“Where’s Mason?” I asked.
“He’s in the shower, you can go up if you want. I’m assuming you’re here because no ones cooking dinner at your house.” He said.
“You know me to well.” I said with a smile.
“Well you're very lucky that I’m not attempting to cook tonight, I ordered pizza.” He said and I smiled.
Since Masons mom died, his dad tried to do all the cooking but he wasn’t very good at it. That’s why Mason came over for dinner usually and brought some back for his dad.
“I love your cooking.” I said as I walked upstairs.
“You're a bad liar.” I heard him say when I reached the top stairs and I chuckled.
I laid back on Masons bed waiting for him to come out of the shower. I looked at his bedside table and smiled at the picture frame that held a picture of Mase and I when we were 7 and missing teeth.
“Hey.” Mason said and I turned to see him standing in front of me wearing a towel around his hips. His beautiful sculpted muscles were on display and just staring at his half naked body made my heart race.
“You are so hot…” I said as I stared at his perfectly cut abs, and he just laughed.
“I know…” he said with a smirk and I threw a pillow at him.
“What was that for?” he asked.
“For being cocky.” I said.
“So I’m guessing you came here to eat all our food?” he asked as he searched his closet for a shirt and pants.
“Yup.” I said.
“Are you staying over?” he asked.
“Most likely.” I said.
“I would turn around if you don’t want to see all my goodies.” He said and I rolled my eyes as I turned around.
“Okay I’m good.” He said and I turned around to see him fully clothed.
I spent the rest of the night talking and laughing with Mason and his dad as we ate pizza.
After we ate Mase and I went back upstairs and laid on his bed together watching “Safe Haven”.
“Mase have you ever been in love?” I asked randomly. I don’t know if I wanted him to say yes, or no…
“I…I…uh… I don’t think so…” he said after a few moments and I nodded with sadness from some reason.
“Have you?” he asked and I shrugged hoping he would accept that answer.
To be honest I wasn’t sure what love was, I knew it was something you felt but I wasn’t sure how I was supposed to know.
I knew love was an amazing magical feeling. Where you want to be around someone all the time because they make you happy. No matter what happens you always want to be with them.
“What do you think love is…” I asked Mase as he gently caressed my arm with the hand that he wrapped around me.
“Well…” he said and he let out a deep breath.
“I think… its an amazing bond and emotion you share with someone special, someone that you love with all your heart. You want to make them smile and laugh, you wouldn’t let anyone hurt them, you would do anything for them…” I heard him say as my eyes began to shut as my mind began to wander with thoughts of loving someone like that…
I couldn’t help but feel like those are all things that I felt for Mason, my best friend, and the person who I couldn’t live without.
I knew I loved Mason…but for some reason I couldn’t help but feel that it was more…it was different.
“Andy…” I heard him say but I was too exhausted to open my eyes and answer.
I felt the covers being pulled over my shoulder and then Masons gentle lips pressed against my forehead.
“I love you Andy…” I heard Mason say in almost a whisper, like if it was actually apart of my dream, but I knew that it wasn’t…
It felt different than any other time he usually said it…it felt real…
But before I could even think any more about it I fell into a deep sleep. Where I dreamed about receiving and giving love like Mason described…
