Abby's POV
I am awoken from my deep sleep by Maddie "whhhhaaaat?" I groan
"Get up"
"Noooooo" I wine like a five year old and that is when she opens the blinds to reveal the bright light that we call sunshine but right now I'm thinking it's more like Satans spawn. I pick up my pillow and burry my head under it
"The light, it burns!" I shout and she starts laughing
"Okay vampira you can get up now" she says while closing the blinds and I slowly get up and stretch.
"It's 9AM on a freakin Saturday what could possibly be so important that you had to wake me?" I say and she smiles, one thing I have learned about her is that she smiles a lot. She should write on her job description talents: smiling everyday. Well actually that's not 100% true, I never really got her ex- boyfriends name right so let's just say that it's Kyle, when he cheated on her I could see how much pain she was in. She wouldn't laugh, talk, laugh, nothing. It was truly her personal demise.
"Well I wanted to have a chat with you before we go out with the guys later"
"Wait? I wasn't informed of this. Where are we going and when?"
"Well we are going to that cool jump place" She says and I arch my eyebrow
"Isn't that play for teens and kids?" I ask and she nods
"You know the guys, plus it will be really fun" She says while nudging me and I give in
"Ugh fine! So what was it you wanted to talk about?" I ask and she smiles to a point where her cheeks are rosy red, at least she's happy
"Well, actually I wanted to talk about you and Caiden... Like where do you guys stand with your relationship?" I knew this question was coming and the true answer is, I don't really know. I mean I hated him for half of this year but now that I know the truth, I don't know what I feel. And then I dodged his kiss to make it look to Maddie and Anthony that I was joking but I think it hit him hard and I felt really bad... But I don't know if I am ready to date him yet, I mean for this whole year I believed that he killed my brother.
But he didn't I think to myself and that's when I realize that she is snapping her fingers in my face
"Hello? Where'd you go?" She asks and I shake my head
"I just got caught up in thinking, sorry"
"You don't have to be sorry. If your uncomfortable then we don't have to go later-"
"No, I want to, I really do"
"But?"
"But I guess the truth is I am really scared of being in a relationship with Caiden. I mean I know that he liked me since we were 14 but still... I just don't know if I am ready" I say and she nods
"I totally understand, you don't have to rush into anything when you don't want to but in my opinion, I really think you two should give it a shot" She says and I plop on my bed
"Why must life be so complicated?" I say randomly and we both sigh
"Because if life wasn't complicated, we'd all be happy people and the earth just doesn't want that for us"
"Poetic much?" I say and she throws a pillow at me
"Shut up. I got you up early because we leave in an hour so get dressed princess" She says and I get up, go into the bathroom to wash off my face and brush my teeth, then I go into the closet and pick out Jeans and one of Wesley's old sweaters that still fits me, I mean for 14, he looked like he should be 17 facial wise and body wise.
I quickly brush my hair and put it in a pony tale, grab my sunglasses, wallet and keys and head out of the door with Maddie. We meet the guys in the student lounge and then we head out.

We just got here and things are kind of awkward between Caiden and I meaning we haven't really talked much, we talked about the freakin weather!
"Guys, you go ahead I'll meet you upstairs, I have to go to the bathroom" I say and they go but Caiden stays behind
"You don't have to wait"
"It's okay, I want to" he says and I nod
"If you insist" I say while walking in and I come out a few minutes later and I head to the staircase
"What are you doing? Why don't we just take the elevator?"
"No its only two flights we will survive"
"But the elevator is quicker why can't we-"
"No Caiden, I'm taking the stairs" I say but then there's a sign on the staircase door that says Cleaning, use elevator
I stomp over to where Caiden is waiting and he has a smirk on his face
"Looks like we'll be taking the elevator after all" he says and I slap him as we get into the elevator
"Shut up" I say teasingly but then I feel my anxiety rise. You see, I am majorly afraid of elevators not only because of the movies but because when me and Wes were 13, we got stuck in the elevator that was in my dads company building and we didn't get out for hours
We are up midway and then the elevator shakes and stops and the alarm goes off. I can feel my anxiety rising at an all time high, okay just breath Abby breathe. I can't. I can't do it, we are trapped in here and I am hyperventilating but Caiden notices as I sink to the floor
"What's wrong?"
"Can't. Breathe" I say in between short breaths and then he starts freaking out
"Don't worry, people get stuck in these things all of the time. They usually survive" he says and I give him a death glare
"Not. Helping. At. All. Caiden" I say in between sobs. I can feel my heart pounding and my soul screaming HELP ME! But I can't get anything out. I am still that little girl who is afraid of everything
He sees me getting worked up so he slides over to me which makes the elevator shake and me scream, but he grabs my hands "hey, look at me. We are going to be okay, this happened a lot. Just breathe in... Out" he says and I do exactly as he says but then I start crying so I lay on his lap
Once I finally catch my breath, I thank the lord that I did not stain his pants with my drool but then I pull away in the opposite corner which causes the elevator to shake again but I breathe and everything is okay, I wrap my arms around my knees and pull my knees to my chest and look anywhere but at Caiden
"This is the manager speaking, we are having malfunctions with the elevator but the repair man should be here in about 3 hours. Are you okay in there?" The manager asks, I am in way to much shock so Caiden gets up and talks through the speaker
"Yes we are okay thank you for notifying us" and he goes back to his corner
Maddie's POV
I look at the elevator only to see that it is stopped between floors 2 and 3 so I go tell the manager
"Um excuse me sir, I think something is wrong with the elevator"
"I know mrs, we've been having malfunctions with it all week, the repair man is coming later on today though" he says and I nod, I don't see Abby or Caiden so I text her
M- where r u?
A- stuck in elevator with Caiden, it's happening again. GET ME OUT
I freak out at her message, she told me that this happened once before when she was 13 and she couldn't breathe, she freaked out and started screaming even though she was with her brother. I rush back over to the manager
"Sir, my best friends are stuck in there" I say and he nods
"I'm sorry but I told you, the repair man is coming -"
"N-n-no you don't understand, my friend has a phobia of elevators knowing her boyfriend, he probably made her take it and she's freaking out sir. Please at least give them a heads up of what's going on, she will not do well if she doesn't have a sense of what's going on. Please" I say and he rushes over to what I am guessing is the elevator speaker and starts speaking into it
"This is the manager speaking, we are having malfunctions with the elevator but the repair man should be here in about 3 hours. Are you okay in there?" He asks and there is no response
"Yes we are okay thank you for notifying us" a voice that I recognize as Caiden's says and I sigh in relief
Abby's POV
"You know you can talk to me right? That things don't have to be super awkward" he says and I nod
"Did I do something wrong?"
"No, I'm sorry Caiden. I'm just freaking out right now and I know that I should talk to you but I don't know what about because things are very awkward for us right now" I say and he scoot he's over which causes me to tense up as the elevator shakes but I manage to bare it
"I'm sorry that I tried to kiss you. I know that it was too soon but I really do like you Abby and I have since we were 14. Even when I was being a player, that was my way of grieving but you thought that you could sit at the back of the class, and dye your hair and I wouldn't notice you? I noticed. Big time. As gross as this sounds, I got my first boner that night that you kissed me at my birthday party but when it was a dare I was disappointed. I noticed you in graduation, I noticed you every year and I watched you sprout. You may not have known it but even when you try not to be noticed, it only made me notice you more. I knew what was going on with your family because your mom called my mom and asked if you could live with us but my mom only said no because she knew that I liked you. Abby, I really like you" he says and I smile
"That's sweet and gross at the same time. But in a good way, Caiden I really like you and all... But I don't know if I am ready to have a relationship with you yet. After all, half of this year I was convinced that you killed my brother" I say with a chuckle
Caiden's POV
Just those three sentences was enough to kill me. If words could kill you, I'd be six feet under already. My heart has been axed into pieces and there is nothing I can do about it so I get up and put on a fake smile
"Okay, take your time" I say while walking to the other side of this f*cking elevator. Great just great I have to spend two more hours trapped with her.
