"those who fall, sometimes fall too hard," I murmured under my breath as I stared at the boy with the dark blue eyes.
I was lying down on the white bed I'd waken up on, watching the boy who refused to speak again. his voice had been cold but his eyes betrayed his tone; I could see the fear and uncertainty written in them, making me even more afraid of this strange white place we both seemed to be trapped in.
he didn't seem to know where we really were, but he definitely wasn't happy here. I wondered to myself how long he'd been here for, and why he was here.
he sat on the ground with his back to the wall and as if there was a heavy weight on his shoulders. his chapped lips were shaped in a fixed frown and his eyes were bloodshot and defeated, like he hadn't slept for days. just looking at him made my heart feel heavy; there was something about him that made me want to help him. save him.
again, I felt a wave of familiarity hit me as he and I stared at each other quietly. I decided to myself, for whatever reason I couldn't fathom, that if I figured out how to leave this white world, I'd take him with me. if I could save myself, I'd save him, too.
