I pick up the stick
Hold it near the flame
Watch it light up at the tip
The little stars are out to claim
They claim the darkness
Making it their own
Looking like little fireflies
Floating, flying on their own
The gentle crackling sound it makes
Reminds me of the crushing of paper
And as it reminds me of these simple facts
I can't stop myself from feeling as high as a sky-scraper
I laugh at the feeling
Of pure, undiluted delight running through my veins
Oh how these little things
Have a pleasant effect on me, protecting me from the pain
And you, you stand beside me
Holding a crackling flame of your own
Words betray me
As I see your face, in the light, glow
Take me by the hand
Pull me close and hold me tight
Hold your Sparkler out in a gesture, grand
And kiss me in its gentle light....

Ah well, the poem is a sorry attempt at a poem, it sounded more beautiful in my head :P
My exams started today!
(Yikes I sound so cheerful in the line, believe Me I'm not)
So I don't know when I'll be posting next, either its the next week or three weeks later, but that shouldn't stop you from comment, voting and PMing me :D
Reason for writing about a sparkler, because they are beautiful. Don't believe me? Look at the pic posted with the poem, then you'll look at things my way
Another reason was that the previous week, we had Diwali (its the festival of lights, go look it up!) and there was this momet when all of us just stood in a circle with sparklers in hand and I felt so good and thought I'd write a poem about it (but the poem doesn't do justice to how I felt :P)
