ADDISON'S POV
After dinner, which was amazing can i say, we got ready to sit around open fire pit and marsh some mellows. The timing was just right. It was about 9pm so it was dark out and there was a slight breeze that made it nice to sit outside. Which it always is in Florida.
I sat next to Jack on one of the benches and may I say he is hilarious. He keeps making corny jokes and pick up lines. You know, the ones that are kind of bad but are the ones you cant help but laugh at. See jack is someone i can see my self with if i had to choose. I don't like him like that, but i guess what i mean is, how he treats girls and doesn't just fool around but really wants a decent relationship. He is a great student and has a major talent on the football field on the defensive line. I wish guys were more like him. But instead majority of our school is filled with a mixture or parkers and joshs.
Vicki was playing hard to get with Josh. All he did was try to hit on her or make smooth moves. But deep down inside i knew she just want to give in and jump his bones right there, right now.
We have known these boys since we were little. And funny how we all used to be in the same class in elementary school. Mrs. Saven's class, room 214. Its interesting to see how people change throughout the school levels. I actually used to like parker in middle school. I thought he was the cutest boy in the whole grade, until he hit puberty and became a number one asshole.
"Hey Addison, are you from Tennessee, because you're the only ten i see" he said one of his corny pick up lines trying to flirt with me. I looked down and blushed.
"Aww that was cute Jack" I commented still ending up with a slight blush on my cheeks
"Oh come on i know you like me Addison." Jack said tying to wrap his arm around my waist and pull me into him.
"You are a adorable, i think we could be great friends" I sadly say patting his shoulder to man up
"Friend Zoned" Parker and Josh hollered making Jack embarressed. And as a result both got smacked upside the head by Victoria.
I love my best friend.
I looked over at Jack to see his face buried in his hands and a little blushing. Aww i feel bad now. I wrapped my arms around him to give him a nice hug.
"If it makes you feel any better, I'd choose you any day over those asswipes over there." I giggled giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"I second that!" Victoria laughed as well.
"Hey! Choose me, not him!" Josh gasped grabbing her waist and starting to tickle her.
I actually had fun tonight, we all talked about school and funny stories that happened when we were little. If some one were to walk in, they would think that we had all been best friends since we were born.
Parker keep sneaking glances at me and i sadly couldn't help but sneak glances at him as well. I knew he wanted to say something else to. Like words were right there in his throat but it's like his brain wouldn't let him open his mouth to let them out.
After we all ate tons of Marshmallows and decided that we were full. Parker and I said bye to everyone as they left because it is a week night and that means we still have school in the morning to look forward to. They all left and now it was just me and Parker standing together alone.
We both couldn't look away from each other. He kept opening his mouth to say something but then would shut it.
Whatever, I didnt feel like talking to him anyways. And i shouldnt have to after what he pulled in english today.
As i started to walk up the stair case, i felt his hand gently hold my wrist. "Wait, I- um. Well - I." He dropped my hand and said "Sleep tight."
WTH.
I watched him run up the stairs towards his room and slap his forehead, probably for saying the most weirdest and awkward comment ever.
Today was a long day for sure. I have no idea what tomorrow will bring in school or here. I guess we will just have to see.
I climbed into bed realizing that this was my first night here. It was kinda scary if you think about it. Just moving here today and it has gone by so fast.
* Next Morning*
I woke up to my alarm playing "Free Fall" by After Romeo. I looked at my clock seeing that it was 6: 30am. Ughh time to get ready. I did my regular routine; Shower, brush my teeth, blow dry my hair because it's already straighten and now to figure out what I'm going to wear. I decided on a gray short sleeve shirt with Black leggings and my white flip flops. I'm surely impressing no one. I got my Phone and book bag and headed down the stairs into the dining room which was huge. I said good morning to Fred who was at the table eating already.
"Good morning Addison. Are you Hungry?" Fred motioning to the table filled with fruit.
" Um no it's okay, thank you though. I'm not really a breakfast person, so i am just gonna head out." I said telling the truth. Im never really hungry in the morning.
As i was about to walk into the hall way, Parker knocked right into me. Which made me glare at him. He went to the table to get an orange and stuffed it into his North face backpack.
" Parker be a gentleman and give Addison a ride to school, would you?" He begged.
"Oh no that's not necessary. I have my own car."
I looked up at him and gave a disgusting look which made him chuckle.
"I insist Addison. Let me drive" He said making me go wide-eyed. When the hell is he ever considerate other then to him self.
I just put on a fake smile to his parents and walked into the hall.
I climbed into the passenger seat while he went to the other side and climbed into the driver's seat. We finally hit the road toward school but we never said a word to each other. It was the most awkward silence i have ever encountered and all i did was look out the window next to me.
Without even looking i could feel his eyes burning holes into me and i just wanted to yell at him.
"Stop starring at me Parker." I said annoyingly.
"Talk to me then. I always want to say something to you, but I'm afraid whatever i say will end up me getting slapped."
"Then don't say anything stupid and i won't have to slap you."
We finally got to school, but before he could even shut the engine off i raced out of there so fast.
" Oh thank the lord" Finally taking a deep breath. I am really gonna try hard to ignore him the whole day even though he is in basically all my classes and he is my ride home. Oh this is going to be great.
I finally got to my locker and did my 3 number combo. That's When i started to realize the stares coming from the kids at school. And then i finally heard it. "That's the girl that slapped Parker yesterday?". Crap they are talking about the fight me and the asshole had during class. Just great. I wonder how long this story will go on for.
Whatever Addison, Just ignore it.
I sighed and finally got my morning books out of my locker for classes. I glanced over to see Victoria walking over to me with her books in her hand and a grin on her face.
"Girl! You are the talk of the school this morning" She squealed thinking that this was such an exciting thing for me.
But it wasn't. I hated all the attention. Especially this kind of attention for slapping a guy.
"Why is it that big of a deal? I dont understand." She just gave a are you joking with me look.
"You slapped the most popular guy, in our town. It's a big fucking deal." I still dont get it but whatever floats their boat.
Victoria was going to say something else when she went wide eyed looking at something behind me. I suddenly felt it. Hot breath, abs against my back, his strong cologne that i smelt in the car this morning. Parker. I turned around slowly to see Parker just starring at me with his usual ass smirk. Just great.
"Speaking of the asshole himself." I frowned.
" Well Hello gorgeous" Josh said which made me look to see him side grabbing Vicki by the waist. She raised her hand and pushed his face which made his whole body be pushed into the hallway.
This surely got some of the people's attention already. More gossip in the shit hole.
I realized that Parker was still behind me so i closed my locker and faced him with my hands on my hips
" What do you want?" I hissed.
" Oh nothing we just wanted to come see you girls." They said non-chalont like we have known them forever. Which we have, but you know what i mean.
" Whatever. can you like stop acting we are the bestest of friends and leave us alone?" Vicki said pushing them out of the way so we can both get to our classes. "You've done enough already Parker."
We stopped in our tracks when someone called out to only two of us. "Miss Williams and Mr. Adams!" Well shit. I was hopping not to run into my principal today. "Come with me please."
I looked at Victoria with eyes yelling help me but she just blew me a kiss and walked the opposite direction towards her class.
Mrs. Tanner was our principal. At age 43 she looked much younger than she actually was. She was actually a really nice woman so i'm hoping this wont end in a mark on my record.
Walking into her office, Parker and I both took a seat across from her desk. As she took a seat as well and smiled at us, she began to talk.
"I want to discuss the events that happened yesterday morning. Addison, you know that it is against the rules to assult someone and to leave school property during class hours. Parker, everyone knows Addison lost her parents in a tragic way and that was very disrespectful of you to say that to her. You both are one of the schools brightest students, top of the class even. I do not want to punish you and i wont give you a mark on your records but i do have to give you something to do." I could hear both Parker and I let out a big breath we must have been holding this whole time she has been talking to us.
"Mrs. Tanner, I want to apologize for disrupting the class and for leaving school grounds when i know i shouldn't have. After Parker said those hurtful words to me, i just couldn't breath and couldn't be at school. I'm sorry."
She nodded to me. "Thank you Miss Williams for your apology." Tanner paused for a minute waiting to see if Parker would say anything or apologize to me but that asshat didn't open his mouth. Figures. Then she continued. "Mrs. Wilson needs a few extra hands in the library today after school restocking books and checking in the ones students have dropped off. If you both do this then there will be no other consequences. Do we have a deal?"
"Yes, Ma'am." We said in unison to her
Walking out into the hallway, Parker was right on my tail.
"I cant believe you." i paused and rephrased that sentence "No, actually wait i can definitely believe that you wouldn't apologize to me after you did that."
"Whatever Addison." Is all he said as we reached our classroom door and took our assigned seats. Thankfully only the late bell had rung and our teacher hasn't started class yet.
Right as i sat down Josh turned around and placed his elbows on my desk.
" Your friend is like really beautiful" He said smiling like a little boy in a candy shop
" If you play around with her, I'll fucking kill you and make sure no one finds you. Got it?" Showing off my best fake smile to him. "She isn't some toy. You don't get to hurt her just like all the other girls."
He raised his hands in response like he was innocent then turned to Parker. "So how was the punishment?"
Parker rolled his eyes at his best friend. "Dude our punishment is literally to restock books and shit in the library. That is going to be such a piece of cake to do."
Cocky much? Has he ever put books back before in a library? Well this should be fun to watch.
" Well hello guys" I heard a girl say. I looked up to see none other than Porsha Washington. One of the prettiest and sweetest popular girls in the history of popular girls.
" Well hello to you too Porsha" Parker said giving her the eye swap. Boys are so Ughhh!
She looked up at me and smiled.
" Addison! I heard what went down with this ass sitting next to me." She punched Parker in the chest make him groan in pain. " Don't worry ill beat him up later for it." I laughed as he went wide eyed in horror of Porsha possibly beating the shit out of him.
I stayed quiet not knowing what else to say.
"Anyways, I wanted to know if you and Victoria wanted to come to my big blow out party tomorrow night at my place?" She beamed making me go wide eyed.
" You....want me... to come to your party? Why?" I asked really confused.
" Well why not silly?" she said in a high pitch voice
" Uh s-sure ill come" I said giving her a nice smile.
"Oh and Addison?" She paused looking really sincere "My dad died when i was little, if you need anything or just want to talk, just text or call me."
"Thank you Porsha."
"And as for you." She turned to Parker "I will personally run you over with my car if you hurt her."
I've never seen a boy, especially Parker go white in the face so fast because a girl threatened him.
As she walked away i let out a big scream. In my head obviously! I would never do that in public. My mini me was dancing like a freak getting her boogie on. OMG i cant wait to tell Vicki. Ill just text her now

The rest of English was decent. Our teacher read aloud one of the books we were reading for class. I was concentrating on trying to listen to her and take notes about what she was saying. But i couldn't help but again feel Parker's eyes burn holes into my side. I wish he would stop doing that.
As the bell rang, signaling the end of class, i grabbed my books and made my way to the door. Passing time was the worst. It was the 5 minutes between classes where everyone was either standing in the hall talking to their friends, running trying to make it to their next class, or being slow as a snail. I hate the later one of the 3.
Anatomy and Physiology was my next class i was walking towards when i felt a presence next to me. I looked over to see jack smiling.
"Hi Jack." I laughed trying to push us through the crowd of high schoolers.
"I want to personally apologize for what Parker said to you yesterday. He shouldn't have said that to you and you had every right to slap him. Actually you had every right to kick him on his ass." He said holding open our A&P class door which we shared.
We didn't have assigned seats to he followed me to the back and took the lab chair that was next to mine.
We were getting our material out when i looked over at him and had a are you serious look on my face.
"You shouldn't be the one apologizing for anything. He is the one who hurt me. Not you. I am not going to accept your apology because that's not the one I'm looking for. Maybe you should tell him that."
"Just so you know, Josh and I let a full blown wrath out on him before we all went out to the pool." He paused and gave me his adorable heart throb smile before continuing. "I also may have punched him a few times in the gut for you."
I held my heart like i was in love. "My hero."
We both laughed and started working on our assignments for the rest of the class.
The last classes i had went really quickly and by the time i knew it, it was already 4th period which was lunch for me and Vicki but we can leave if we wanted to. And its also the Bad Boy's lunch also.
I met Vicki at her locker because i already went to mine.
"How did it go with Tanner this morning?"
"Crap! I forgot about that!" I said whining to my best friend and lightly banging my head against the metal of our lockers. "Parker and I have to restock books in the library after school today."
"Hey that isn't that bad! Actually that would be the best punishment ever, especially for you since you love books and practically live in there sometimes" Victoria giggled.
"I know it's not bad. That isn't the part i'm groaning about. Its the fact i have to be there with Parker for an hour and a half. Did you know he didn't even apologize to me yet for saying those things." I replied.
She looked passed me and grinned. "Well don't look now but the asshat is walking down the hall towards us. Im going to go to lunch and study. But please do tell me all the juicy details."
"I hate you sometimes" I hissed.
"I love you too!" She screamed down the hall as i looked over my shoulders to indeed see Parker heading towards me. But being the oh so nice girl I am, i didn't wait up for him and made my way around the corner to the entrance of the library.
Mrs. Wilson was at her desk when i first entered the door. She looked and smiled at me shaking her head. "You bad girl! You never get into trouble! My favorite student and she's already getting sent to the principals office." I knew she was joking as her sentences were said with a hint of amusement.
"Ha Ha very funny Mrs. Wilson. It was all Parker's fault by the way" I retaliated while reaching over to start with the stacks of books i knew needed to be put back on their appropriate shelf.
I didn't pay attention at first when that fool walked in , as i just wanted to get my part of the work done so i can get out of here. Not even 30 minutes in to working and i hear him hissing at me trying to get my attention. So i whipped my head around to face him at one the other end of the isle i was in.
"How in the world do you know how to do this stuff." He looked at the books in his hands confused out of his mind.
"Oh is this not the easy peesy work Parker Adams thought it was going to be." i said in a baby voice pouting my lips in a cute way.
"You are mean you know that? I've never done this before nerd." He rolled his eyes.
"Just because i like the library and am smart enough to figure out how to put books in alphabetical order, unlike some people, doesn't mean i am a nerd." whacking him in the arm with a book. "Your bestie Jack loves the library, but i don't think you would call him a nerd now would you?"
"Whatever, Ill figure it out myself." He stated going back to where he was working.
I finished my half of the books and started helping out at the front desk scanning books back in. This was by far the easiest part of all and something i enjoyed.
As i was scanning a book in, from the corner of my eye i could see someone approach the desk, but i wasn't prepared for who i was about to see. I looked up to see none other than Christian James. Not only was he like the sexiest guy at my school but also my high school crush since freshman year. I think my heart just exploded.
"Hey Addison." Was all he said and i wanted to burst. Attractive I know.
"Um-Uh Hey Christian." Okay not so bad Addison. This isn't so bad so far.
"I didn't know you worked in the library." He said leaning his head over to the side giving me his drop dead smile.
My cheeks were definitely turning tomato red right now.
"I don't work in the library. Just helping.... sort of."
"Well i just needed to drop this book off." He paused and then continued, still smiling. "I wasn't going to stop by today and just drop it off tomorrow but now I'm glad i brought it in because of the beautiful girl that got to help me."
Holy flubber nutter. Was he talking about me? There was no way on earth he was talking about me. Right?
"Who is the beautiful girl?" I probably sound clueless but i had to know if he was talking about me.
He chuckled letting his head bob down and looked back up straight into my eyes. Biting his lip he responded, "You are really cute, you know that Addison? That beautiful girl i was talking about was you."
Here lies the body of Addison Nicole Williams. Reason of death: Christian James called her beautiful!
im pretty sure my eyes were wide open but not as wide as they were going to be with what he was going to do next. Christian took a pen and a piece of scrap paper that was lying on the counter near him and started to scribble something on it. I didn't realize until he handed it to me that it was his number!
"We should hang out sometime. I mean if that's okay with you." I nodded a little too fast ending in me laughing at my self for most likely looking like a weirdo. I tore a part of the paper on the bottom and wrote my number as well and handed it to him. "Now you have my number too."
"Ill text you later Addison." He winked as he walked away, out the library doors.
My day has officially been made.
I hadn't realized what time it was until Victoria poked me in the side and started tugging me out.
"Girl you look like you have gone mad in the head." We both laughed at what she just said as i went into a full blown story of what just happened between Christian and I, and how Parker was still an idiot but then went back to talk about Christian again.
In the end i could say i have officially rendered my best friend speechless, which says a lot because Victoria loves to talk.
"Thee Christian James gave you the holy grail, aka, his phone number and wants to hang out. I should've sat in the library and ate my lunch to watch this!" She whined pissed off that she missed this historical moment that we will probably tell our children.
Just as i was about to say something else. Vicki and I both hear 3 pairs of footsteps walking behind us. We knew exactly whose feet those were hot on our tail.
I leaned my head back and groaned loud so they can hear me while Vicki was laughing.
" Awww did you guys miss us that much? See i told you Victoria they were obsessed with us." I laughed looking back at them and smirking
" I know they must really like us Addison" She laughed looking back at them also.
A body squeezed in-between us and wrapped their arms around our shoulders. I knew it had to be Jack as Josh is too much of a wimp to try to do that to Victoria and Parker wouldn't dare try it on me because he is afraid ill kick his ass.
"My favorite girls." He said giving us both a squeeze before walking on past us and through the front doors of the school.
We finally reached the parking lot, Where me and Vicki hugged goodbye and that i will see her tomorrow. We don't have classes tomorrow because it's a teacher day so woo hoo for us. I was beginning to walk home when i heard Parker's voice calling out to me so i turned around to face him.
" I thought i was giving you a ride?" He said leaning against his Black BMW.
"Ugh I wish i just took my car this morning!" I said turning around and glaring at him.
"My car is so much better than yours" he said being his cocky self
"Just shut up and drive us home." I said pushing him away from the door and getting in.
He ran to the driver's side and got in as well. I was hoping the ride would be like this morning and be somewhat quiet but sadly it wasn't because he had to open his mouth.
"Why were you talking to Christian?" He asked sounding mad.
"Why were you watching me talk to him?" I stated back
"Touche" He said pausing before he opened his mouth again. "You shouldn't hang out with him, he isn't a good guy."
"What is it to you whether i hang out with him or not Parker? You and I aren't friends, even then you cant tell me who i talk to and want to hang out with." I rolled my eyes. What is his problem.
"Whatever, don't believe me. Its just a matter of time after you hang out with him that he will hurt you." Can't he just be quiet already.
"You and all your whatever's. Also if he hurts me then that would be my mistake and its my choice to hang out with him. So just leave me alone and stop butting into my life." I said firmly just as we got into the drive way.
I got out of the car and headed up into the house so i can go straight to my room and start my home work. Once i got to my room i threw my book bag down and plopped my butt right on the the carpeted floor. All i had to do was finish my English homework which was just revising my essay and draw a picture of something that i Cherish for my Drawing class.
I grabbed my headphones and popped them into my ears as i turned my phone on and listened to Popular by MIKA ft. Ariana Grande. I'm like obsessed with this song. At the same time I'm revising my stupid essay.
"My problem, I never was a model. I never was a scholar. You were always popular, You were singing, all the songs i don't know. Now you're in the front row. Cause my song is popular. That's all you ever need to know." I sang belting out the chorus which is my favorite.
