~Daryl's P.O.V.~
On the way to Atlanta I couldn't stop thinking about how I yelled at Haley. I felt bad but I was angry. But I knew she must have a good reason, and I didn't even let her explain. We made it to a building and began to come up with a plan. We're going into the hospital, we're gonna bring back our people.
"At sundown we fire a shot into the air. Get two of them out on patrol. Then once it's dark enough that the rooftop spotter won't see us, that's when we go. We cut the locks on one of the stairways take it to the fifth floor" Rick said
I began to get distracted while thinking about Haley
"I open the door, Daryl takes the guard out"
I concentrated back when I heard my name from Rick going over the plan
"How?" Tyreese asked
"He slits his throat" Rick said looking at Tyreese "This is all about us doing this quiet, keeping the upper hand. They're not expecting us. From there, we fan out. Knives and silenced weapons. We need to be fast" Rick looked down and continued drawing out the plan "Tyreese, Sasha, take them. Daryl, you take care of whoever is in the kitchen. I got Dawn. If they're smart, the rest of them will give up. Then it'll be five on three. Sox on three once we get a weapon to Beth"
"Twelve on three. The wards will help" Noah said
Tyreese nodded "That's the best case. What's the worst case? All it takes is one of those cops going down the hall at the wrong time. Then it's not quiet. All hands on deck. We're talking about a lot of bullets flying around"
He's right. Once you really think about it
"If that's what it takes" Sasha said
"It's not. If we get a couple of her cops alive out here, we do an even trade" Tyreese suggested
I softly nodded. He's got a point
"Theirs for ours. Everyone goes home" Tyreese said
Rick stood up "Yea, I get it. And that might work" He looked at Tyreese "This will work"
I shook my head "Nah, that'll work too" Everyone turned to look at me "You say this Dawn, she's trying to keep it together right?"
"Trying and doing are two different things" Noah said
"You take two of her cops away. What choices does she have?" I said knowing I was right "Everybody goes home. Like he says" I said pointing to Tyreese
Rick kept looking at me knowing I was right. We got out weapons ready and began to head out. Rick began to walking next to me
"I could see you've been distracting yourself lately. And I know it's because of Haley. But right now I need you to focus on getting Beth and Carol back. That's all that matters"
I nodded "Yea I know" I looked down and we continued walking as we got into position. Noah came back from throwing gun shots and the police car came drifting in. Two cops came out and drew their guns. We put out guns up and went into position
~Haley's P.O.V.~
I opened my eyes and groaned as I slowly sat up. I clinched on my stomach
"Hey easy"
I turned to see Michonne
"What happened?" I softly said
"You passed out middle of walking"
I chuckled and fully sat up "Great" I sarcastically said
I turned to see Gabriel scrubbing the floor and Carl standing above him
"But I know why" She said
"Why?" I cleared my throat
"Your wound. It wasn't cleaned up. It was infected"
I slightly picked up my shirt and noticed a white bandage across my stomach. I looked up at her "Thanks"
She nodded "I will be back" She said patting my shoulder "Get some rest"
I nodded. She stood up and left. I stayed sitting down taking a deep breath
"Glad to see your up" Carl said as he rocked Judith
"Thanks kid" I smiled
Judith softly cried and Carl tried rocking her
"Can I?" I asked
He nodded and handed her to me. I rocked her softly and began humming a song. She cuddled and got quiet. The next morning I noticed Gabriel was still in his room. I stood by the window and noticed it was quiet outside. That was a good sign. We all sat around
"So do you think they will be back?" I asked
"Abraham and his group?" Carl asked
"But I still can't believe Glenn and Maggie went along" Michonne said
"To be honest I don't think Eugene knows how to end all this" I said
"He's a scientist" Carl said
"Yea but we can't stop this. No matter what" I said
Michonne nodded as she made a face to Judith and smiled
"What do you guys think about Gabriel?" I asked
"He's okay. He gave us shelter" Carl said
"He just seems off, and odd" I said
Out of nowhere we heard yelling, it came from right outside. Then we heard growls. No no this can't be good. We all stood up. Carl left the room and sprinted towards the door
"Carl wait" I said but he was already at the door
Michonne handed me Judith. She ran to Carl
"Get back" She said. She banged on the door with a machete as Gabriel continued to yell. Or atleast it sounded like him. She tried over and over till it finally broke. Gabriel ran in and walkers followed. My eyes widen
"Get back" Michonne said
Carl began to shoot and Michonne took out her sword.
"The rectory, come on" Gabriel said
He lead us to the room and we ran in. He closed the door
"That's where I got out, come on"
We got into position and climbed into the ground to get out. It hurt because of my stomach and my foot but I ignored the pain. We made it outside and Gabriel came out last.
"I can't run anymore" Gabriel said
"We're not running" Michonne responded
We sneaked to the front again Carl and Michonne killed the rest of the walkers. They closed the doors to the front doors and locked the walkers that were inside. We stood outside the church
"Great, now what" I said balancing myself on one foot
I turned to look at Gabriel "What the hell were you thinking?!" I almost yelled and I ganged up on him
"Hey. Haley. Come on. Don't" Michonne said holding me back
I angrily walked a good distance and just stood thinking. Now we don't have a place to stay. Glenn is who knows where. Daryl most likely won't even forgive me. My foot isn't completely healed. My wound still hurts. The growls only got louder in the church, they were beginning to break down the door. Tearing it apart. We began to take steps backwards
"Where do we go?" Gabriel asked
"Well we would still have the church if you hadn't left" I snapped at him
Before we knew it a big fire truck crashed into the front of the church. A big sigh of relief flew over me when I realized who it was.
