The next morning Jasmine wakes up to the smell of fresh coffee and bacon. Her stomach rumbles and she jumps out of the bed.
Entering the kitchen she stifles a yawn and rubbs her eyes. Gibbs chuckles at the sight of her. "Good morning, sleepyhead." he says while cooking their eggs.
"Morning." Jas mutters. She sits down at the table and closes her eyes again.
"Now don't fall back asleep. Today is the day for payback." he grins evily at her when he places her plate infront of her.
"What do you mean, Gibbs?" She looks up tiredly.
"Today is family day. We're going out so you have about fifteen minutes left before I put you in the car no matter the state your in."
Now that wakes Jasmine up, this doesn't sound bad at all. "A family day, really? Do you mean just you and me or..."
"No, Ziva, Tony, Abby and Tim are coming aswell..."
"Oh..." Gibbs has his back to Jasmine but he could hear the disappointment in her voice. He smirks because he knew what she was waiting for. Revenge is so sweet.
"Have you finished?" She nods and Gibbs sends her upstairs to get ready.
Soon the team arrives one by one and they are only waiting for Jasmine to reappear.
"Jasmine, hurry up! If your not down here in three seconds I'll make good of my threat and get you." Gibbs hollers from the bottom of the stairs.
"Okay okay I'm coming." Jas stomps down the stairs. Gibbs grabs her arm when she is next to him and pulls her closer to his side.
"Hey cut the attitude. I want to spend a nice family day with you and you're not helping with the way you are acting right now." he whispers in her ear.
Jasmine shrugs and pulls her arm free walking away muttering "It's not a family day like this"
"What was that?"
"Oh nothing." Jas walks in the living room and is greeted by the sight of the team sitting around the room waiting.
"Morning guys." she says sulkily.
"Oh, my lady choose to join us. But what seems to be the problem this wonderful morning with the little miss sunshine?" Tony teases and pulls her down on the sofa next to him.
"Tonyyyyy, let me up." the girl whines.
"No. First you tell me whats wrong."
"Its nothing. Lets just have a good day." she lies and jumps up to join the rest by the door.
"Everyone ready?" Gibbs asks while taking his keys and walking out to his car. The team and Jasmine follow and Jas, Ziva and Abby sit in Gibbs car while the boys would follow them in Tims car.
Gibbs starts the car and five minutes later the questions start.
"Hey Gibbs were are you taking us to?" Abby asks.
"Surprise, Abs" he answers.
"But Giiiiiiiibbs, come on just give me a hint, I don't like not knowing whats going on and you know that." she complains.
"Stop it, Abby. You're acting like a spoilt kid. You don't want me to treat you like one..." Gibbs growls.
Abby pouts and crosses her arms huffing childishly. Ziva rolls her eyes at Abbys antics and Jasmine just stares out her window lost in her own thoughts.
" Are you alright, Jasy?" Ziva nudges the girl to get her attention. Jasmine nods and turns back to looking out the window.Ziva shrugs and sighs. The girls moods are changing so fast you couldn't possibly keep up. Just let her be for now, maybe she'll come around. Ziva thinks.
Ten minutes later Gibbs stops the car infront of a big park.
It looks nice with its long meadows and picnic tables, a basketball court and a big fountain in the middle.
"Wow Gibbs, its really cool. Look at the fountain it's wonderful." Abby jumps out the car and almost knocks Tony over who exited Tims car at the same time.
"Hey Abby careful." he grumbles.
"Okay guys, everyone grab something from the trunk and follow me." Gibbs orders.
They grab all the things Gibbs packed and headed towards a secluded table. It is near a group of trees so they would have some privacy with all the families around them.
While the others set the table with food and drinks, Jasmine stands there with her arms crossed and her face in a stony expression.
"Jas, what's wrong with you? You've been acting strange all morning tell me whats wrong." McGee suddenly stops next to her and puts his arm around her shoulder.
Jasmine leans against him and rest her head on his shoulder. While Tony is the goofy, funny and imature older brother, McGee is more serious, caring and the one you could always count on to help you out with your problems.
"It's stupid and... and.. oh it's nothing really." the girl starts but decides against telling Tim.
"Jasmine whatever it is that is on your mind it is not stupid." McGee scolds slightly.
She only shrugs.
McGee squeezes her shoulder. "Now no more of that. Talk to me. I'm trying to help you here."
Jasmine swallows hard before speaking.
"This is supposed to be a family day but for me there is something missing for it to be complete."
"You talking about something or someone?" Tim asks pointetly.
"I hope I'm not that much to late. My appointment took longer than expected." a voice suddenly says behind them.
Jasmine whirls around, smiles brightly and hugs Jenny.
"Oh, I must have forgotten to mention that you were coming later Jen." Gibbs says grinning smugly at the young girl infront of him.
Jasmine glares at him. "That was mean, Gibbs."
"What..? I told you it was time for payback."
"Yeah but I thought... You know what forget it. The main thing is that now Jenny is here aswell. Now it's really a family day!" Jas states.
Gibbs ruffles her hair. He looks and winks at Jen, who blushs and smiles.
"Can we eat already, now that we're complet?" They could hear Tonys stomach rumble loudly. Everyone laughs and finds a place at the table.
"Hey Boss, this food surprisingly is really good" Tony compliments with his mouth full of chicken sandwich.
"Now what is that supposed to mean DiNozzo?" Gibbs growls playfully.
"Ahh.. you know.. it's just that I thought you would live on take out and bourbon." Tony stutters embarrassed.
Gibbs reachs over and SMACK. Tony rubs the back of his head, shrugging and grinning slyly.
Gibbs shakes his head also grinning. "There are many things you don't know about, DiNozzo."
After they ate Ziva, Tony and Jasmine head over to the basketball court to play for a little while. Abby and Tim stay at the table talking about new computer programs and Tims new book.
Gibbs and Jenny walk a bit down the path towards the fountain and sit down on the edge.
"It was a pretty good idea of you to come here today. A few relaxed hours is what the team needs after all the hard work they had to do over the last weeks and for Jasmine it's time spend like this that helps her overcome her grief." Gibbs states and watches his kids having a good time.
"I know but it's also nice for the two of us to get away from work and enjoy a bit of peace and freedom."
Right this moment the freedom was broken by Ziva shouting at Tony.
"Peace and freedom.. yeah right, but not with this brood around." Gibbs growls.
They watch as Tony and Ziva begin to wrestle with each other.
"Uh.. Jethro, I think you should intervene before she really hurts him." Jen looks concerned when Ziva pins Tony down and twists his arm painfully behind his back.
Gibbs stands up, shaking his head.
There is never a dull moment when you have kids. He thinks and jogs towards the basketball court to prevent Ziva from killing DiNozzo.
