My eyelids fluttered open, revealing the bright full moon that shown through thebranches. My hand still lay on the dirt that Zelda lays beneath.The hairs on the back of my neck stood on end, fear made it's presence known. Thefeeling of being watched grew.
The woods aren't safe at night.I stood. My limbs ached from the lack of use. Two pairs of red eyes appeared fromwithin the branches of a tree. Growling sounds had emitted from bushes beside me.The only protection I had on me at the moment was a silver dagger. I'm sure thereare to many to fend off with just a measly knife.
I gripped the dagger tightly in my hand, hastily making my way out of the woods.Running down twist and turns, I'm still able to hear the low hiss of skulltulas.Glowing dots illuminate everything. Making the world around me splatters of black,dark green, and red.My lungs burn from the long run. I feel my leg get entangled with the tree rootsbelow. The exit out of the forest is right ahead, I can see it. But, before I'm able toreach it, I trip.My face comes into contact with the cold, hardened dirt. Causing new cuts and afew bruises to form not only on my face, but my body as well.
I became lightheaded,the color disappears from my face and my vision blurs.My eyes sow themselves shut as I await the death the Goddess has chosen for me.Only..it never comes.The excruciating pain I had expected to feel, never came. The only thing I heard wasa grunt of pain, and a sword being unsheathed. My eyes open, only able to make outblurs of black, red, and silver. Every monster that was once after me, is now after
whoever was in front of my eyes.My eyes close, letting myself slip in and out of sleep. I find the strength to reopen myeyes, only seeing the blur of red eyes."Thank you.." I involuntarily mumble before losing my sight for the second time.
