jimin had been in an accident. previously, they had told yoongi that it wasn't very serious and he really had nothing to worry about. but a couple weeks later, when jimins condition started to worsen instead of improve, they scheduled him to go into surgery, with only a 50% chance of making it out alive. yoongis friends and family kept reminding him that jimin did have a half and half chance of coming back, and that was pretty good. but half wasnt good enough for yoongi. it wasnt good enough for him to not stay up all night for weeks, worrying about what the future would hold. it wasnt good enough to stop him from basically forgetting to eat almost every day due to all the things on his mind.
but after thinking about things for a while, yoongi decided to do something. so he went to go see jimin, earlier than he usually did. but this time, they werent just going to chat in the hospital room. "jiminie?" yoongi softly shook his boyfriends sleeping figure. he actually had to push himself to even wake jimin up at all, because he didnt want to disturb him. "yoongi? hey!" jimins eyes fluttered open and a lazy smile took over his features. he sat up slightly, running a slow hand through his messy hair as he did so.
"hey babe, we're going somewhere today." yoongi smiled gently at him while carefully unhooking the amniotic fluids that jimin was hooked up to. he was going to take the stuff with him though, because even though yoongi didnt know shit about all this medical stuff, he was pretty sure jimin needed this. "huh? oh- um- okay, then." jimin said as he sat up fully and let yoongi take his hand, while a confused look sat on his face.
so, yoongi quietly snuck jimin and himself out of the hospital (which was way easier than he initially thought) and on to his motorcycle that was parked outside. luckily, jimin had ridden on his motorcycle many times, so he didnt really have any trouble with it. yoongi said nothing about the location they were headed to, but jimin didnt really seem to notice anyway. he just silently held on to yoongis torso from behind and let him drive. about 5 minutes into the journey, jimin decided to speak up.
"you do know that im not really supposed to be out of the hospital, right?" jimin said, loud enough so he knew that yoongi could hear him. "i know." he replied, just as loud with a slight nod of his head. "and i have surgery in a few hours.." jimin added afterwards. "i know that, too." yoongi simply said, ending the small conversation with that. they drove the rest of the way in silence and by the time they got to where they needed to be, jimin only had about 3 hours left before he had to go in for surgery.
later, they had finally parked the motorcycle and yoongi was dragging a rather eager jimin to the shoreline of a beach that was nearby. "i know that your sugery is in a few hours, and thats exactly why i wanted to bring you here." yoongi said as he made a small gesture to the beautiful open water in front of them. jimin watched with wide eyes as many different colors took over the sky, as the sun starting to rise. "i wanted to make sure that i showed you something beautiful in the world, so that you can come back and see many more beautiful things with me." yoongi continued, gazing over at how amazing jimin looked as he watched the sky above them.
yoongi then grabbed both of jimins hands and had jimin look over at him. "and i know you said that you never wanted me to do or say anything different than i would usually do, just because of the situation you are in. and i want you to know that nothings changed. i have thought about this long and hard and am 100% sure about it.." yoongi explained, eyes finally coming up to meet jimins. "this is going to be a double deal, okay?" yoongi said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box. "i-is that?" jimin started, as his eyes landed on it. "yeah." yoongi answered him quickly.
"i promised that i would always take care of you, so.." yoongi slowly opened the box to reveal a tiny ring. tears started to spill from jimins eyes as he smiled widely at him, "y- yoongi..." but yoongi just kept telling him what he felt needed to be said, "-so you come out of that surgery alive, and let me keep my promise." he looked up at jimin with hopeful eyes. "o-okay. i'll come back. so please, wait for me." jimin cried as he took yoongis small face into his hands and pulled him closer, their foreheads pressed together.

as the final door closed to the surgery room that jimin was taken into, yoongi sat with his elbows on his knees in the waiting room. he clasped his shaky hands together and brought his head down to touch them. "please, please, please, please.." he quietly chanted to himself. hoping and praying, that jimin would make it. what felt to yoongi like three years later (which in reality was only a couple of hours), a nurse sweetly told him that he could now enter jimins room, where the doctor was waiting for him.
yoongi entered the room slowly, almost cautiously. like he was afraid that is his steps were too loud, it would mess with jimins current condition and somehow make the odds against him. "hello, you must be yoongi. the boyfriend?" a tall man with a mask said to him from the other side of the small room. yoongi nodded quickly and worriedly shifted his eyes over to jimin, who was laying motionlessly on the bed.
"i am happy to inform you that the surgery was a complete success! congratulations!" the doctor said, breaking the silence between them. yoongis head snapped up and tears started to form into his eyes. he almost ran and hugged the doctor tightly, but he refrained from doing so and managed to get out a thank you. once the man had left, yoongi took a seat on the chair beside jimins bed. "y-yoongi?" he suddenly heard jimins beautiful voice mutter.
he leaned closer to the bed and nodded quickly, tears falling down his face. "y-yeah its me. im here." "you waited for me." jimin smiled weakly, pressing his hand into yoongis clammy one. "of course i did." yoongi smiled, pulling out the ring "we made a deal, didnt we? im afraid you cant back out now!" "yoongi.." jimin said as his own tears fell down his face. "so, if you'll still have me. i'd like to spend the rest of our lives together." he continued, gently lifting jimins hand and slipping the ring onto it.
"yes- yes of course! yes!" jimin stammered out happily pulling yoongi into a quick kiss, making their tears kind of mix together on their pressed faces. "god, i really love you so much." yoongi whispered as he continued to look at jimin with loving eyes.
