"Figured with those big muscles you'd be able to lift more boxes than that" scoffed
"I'm trying here" Steve laughed
"Clearly not hard enough" I joked "isn't that right Sebastian" I said in a baby voice as I pet the cat, he was grey with the prettiest green eyes
"I'm so glad you named him Sebastian and not bagel" Steve plopped a box down on the floor
"Bagel was a cute name stop making fun of me for it" i whined covering my face with my hands
"Bagel, really?" He teased
"Screw you Rogers" I said throwing a shirt that i had unpacked at him
He just laughed slumped over onto the couch
"Is that the last box?" I asked
"Looks like it." He breathed "how do we have so much stuff when you didn't even have anything to your name"
"It's called decorating" I sassed
"Well how much 'decorating' did you do?" He chuckled
"You can tease me all you want but when everything's unpacked it'll look amazing" I assured him
Sebastian came up and started rubbing on Steve's leg "Whose going to watch him when we're out on missions" he questioned
"We could always ask Natasha" I suggested "I bet she'd love him"
"What if we take her with us? Who will watch him then?"
"I Would suggest Tony but we all know he'd probably make it an iron man suit" I joked
"Iron cat" Steve said raising an eyebrow
"I can see it now" I laughed
"My memory is a little foggy but I'm 99.9% sure that you said we were getting a dog" he said stroking Sebastian
"But look at his little face!" I said in a baby voice "he's the most adorable kitten ever how could you not love him!"
I continued unpacking all our new clothes, we recently went on a shopping spree because we decided that we couldn't wear our suits out in public anymore.
"How did we get like this?" He asked
"What do you mean?" I questioned cocking my head
"How did we get so domesticated?" He laughed "you used to be so rough around the edges and look at you now, So sweet and charming"
"I guess you bring the old me out" I smiled
"What was the old you like?"
"Happy." I sighed "but then again she didn't have to fight an
army of Robots"
He got up and walked over to me, he hugged me from behind and buried his face in my neck "I don't know I feel like the domesticated life suits us well"
"It will suit us better when everything's unpacked" I laughed and pushed him away
"I'm getting hungry, we should probably pick something up to eat from the store" I wrote down a list of things "assuming you can cook decently" I said handing it to him
"Why can't you do it?" He whined
"Because feminism"
"Ugh you always get me with that one" he complained
"Don't forget cat food" I smiled
He made stuck his tongue out at me before shutting the door behind him.
Sebastian hopped up on the counter And laid down next to the fruit bowl. I walked into the guest bedroom and unpacked the blankets and the towels when I heard the front door shut quietly. Almost inaudible footsteps Made they were down the hallway towards our bedroom. I pressed myself against the wall as they passed the guest room. I reached into the box I was unpacking and pulled a gun out of the bottom. I walked down the hallway and into our room as saw a women with long black hair standing with her back to me.
I cocked my gun "Hi Natasha" I smiled
She turned around "Seems you haven't lost your touch" she said with a smirk
I sat my gun on the table by the door and pulled her in for a hug "I don't Like the new look"
"Neither do I" she laughed "it's a wig, I have to wear it to sustain my cover"
"Already got a new mission?" I questioned
"Shield's up and running again, it's smaller nowadays considering we lost most of our agents to hydra" she explained
"Is fury cracking the whip?" I joked
"He seems to have retired as director" she smiled "for now. We all know he can't stay away for to long"
"Whose running the show now?" I asked
"Coulson"
"I thought he was dead" it took me a minute to wrap my brain around it
"A dead man walking" she joked "and one of his first projects is hydra"
She handed me a stack of files. "He thought these would be of use to you"
"What is Steve's assignment?"
"We'd prefer him not to know about Coulson just yet so we'll probably have you place him in a suitable environment"
I rubbed the back of my neck and let out a sigh, I wasn't ready to get back to work just yet but it seems as if I have no choice.
"I best get going before Steve gets back, wouldn't want him asking a million questions. Oh, and Kat" she said slipping something out of her Jean pocket "Coulson also wanted me to give you this" she handed me a plain black flash drive "be careful with the information and most importantly... Keep it away from Steve"
