WPOV:
I look over at Nico, who is screaming and thrashing about, still asleep. I switch on a light and scoop Nico up. His eyes snap open and he screams again, and I wince. I hate seeing him in pain.
"Sshhh... It's okay..." I whisper. He starts to calm down, closing his eyes shut. Tears start running down his cheeks as he sobs and buries his face in my chest. After a while, I manage to coax him out. He leans against my chest, his eyes squeezed shut.
"Um..." I'm worried I might scare him, but realise I should ask. "Was it about Percy?" I ask quietly. Nico nods slightly and I hold him closer. "It's okay..." I whisper. "You're safe in my arms... I won't let anyone hurt you."
Nico sobs and I hug him. "I'll always be here, okay? If you ever have a nightmare, just wake me up. I won't mind. I'll take care of you. I promise."
Nico nods as I lay down carefully. He lays on top of me, his head on my chest. I gently thread my fingers through his hair and he sighs, before drifting back to sleep.
Soon enough, I fall asleep too, my arms wrapped around Nico protectively.
