Your POV:
Today was the show. We've done it a million times so I wasn't nervous.
I saw all the kids in their seats during dress rehearsals. I also saw the national team. "Y/N come here." The owner said. "This is Y/N L/N. Performer here and soccer player." He said.
I waved.
"Soccer player?" I nodded. "What position?" Alyssa Naeher said.
"Forward sometimes Midfield. Wherever they want to put me."
"Ever play in goal?" Ashlyn Harris asked me.
"Once. Got a ball right to the face."
My social worker came over. "All the kids wanted to wish you luck."
"Okay." I looked down.
"Is this your mother?" Alex Morgan asked.
I shook my head. "Social worker. She's in foster care." She said. "Been with us since she was a year old."
I nodded.
"Oh."
"I've been in and out of homes."
"When she comes back to us it's always for the same reason." My social worker laughed. "She's a trouble maker, too much energy, doesn't listen to rules."
"That's the short list of my problems." I said. I looked back at my group. They waved me over. "Can I go now? I want to get this over with." I ran off.
No one's POV:
"Is she always like that?" Kelley asked.
"Yeah but it's been worse lately. We recently found out her birth parents had a kid before her. They kept that one but when she was born they gave her up after a year."
Hope stared at you. You didn't notice though. "How old is she?"
"Just turned 17. The oldest in the house."
Hope nodded. "What you thinking?" Carli asked her.
"She needs someone. I want to be that someone."
"I do too." Carli said. They watched you with your group. The show started and all the students showcased their talents.
After the show you and all the kids piled into the van.
Your POV:
"Hey wait!" I heard a voice. The national team was running after us?
My social worker got out. "Can we help you?"
"We'd like to spend sometime with Y/N. One on 23, if thats okay."
She looked at me. "You up for it?"
"I'll probably end up back here anyway." I walked off with the team.
