We were sitting on the bus one morning headed off to a new venue for the boy's concert in a few days. Liam and I were the only two awake at the time and we sat on the couch talking.
"Do you miss your family?" he asked me.
"Sure I do. But it's like being away at school. I couldn't stay at home forever," I replied.
"I suppose your right."
"When was the last time you saw your family?" I asked him. He sighed and sat back.
"I'd say it's been about eight mouths," he finally said.
"Wow," I replied.
"That's the nature of the job," he sighed.
"Yeah I guess it is," I said. Niall came out about that time. His hair was a mess and his eyes were red. He couched as he laid down on the couch putting his head in my lap. "You ok buddy?" I asked running my fingers through his hair.
"My throat is killing me and I'm all congested," he said hoarsely.
"You sound it, try not to talk too and irritate your throat," I told him.
"I'll get you some tea, mate," Liam said standing up.
"Is it just you're throat that hurts buddy?" I asked him. He nodded. I put my hand on his head. "You don't have a fever. Must just be a cold. We'll get some medicine in you and we'll just take it easy today, alright?" He nodded again. I continued to play with his hair until Liam came back with some tea and medicine for Niall.
"Here mate take these," Liam said handing him the pills and some water. He swallowed the pills and laid back down. "Sip on the tea it should help your throat mate," Liam said sitting across from us. Niall nodded. Liam popped in a movie and we sat and watched it until the other two came out. We told them Niall was a bit under the weather and we all agreed to take it easy that day. Niall fell asleep halfway through the movie.
"Hope he's alright for the concert," Louis said looking worried.
"We'll try to get him back on his feet. I think it's just a cold. If we stay on top of his medicine he should be alright," I said rubbing his arm.
"When is he due for more medicine?" Harry asked.
"Probably an hour or so," Liam said checking the time. Harry nodded. Liam put in another movie that we all sat around and watched. About half way through that movie Niall woke up. He coughed a little bit and sat up.
"How you doing buddy? I asked rubbing his back. He shrugged a little. Liam got up and got him some more medicine.
"Here mate," Liam said handing him the pills he smiled slightly and took them. "You want more tea mate?" Liam asked putting up his cup. Niall nodded. Niall laid back down across me as I rubbed his back. Liam came back with some more tea and sat back down. We watched the rest of the movie. Niall would cough every now and then but he seemed to be fine.
"I'm starving," Harry said after the movie was over. The others agreed.
"You wanna eat something Nialler?" I asked looking down at him. He nodded and sat up drinking the rest of his tea. I stood up to make him something to eat. He held up his empty glass. "You want more?" I asked him. He nodded and smiled at me. I took the cup from him and took it out to the kitchen. I made him some soup and more tea and myself a sandwich. I took everything back out to Niall who took the soup gratefully. "How's your throat feel bud?" I asked him. "Any better?" He nodded and smiled. "Good, we just need to stay on top of your medicine." We all ate lunch then the boys decided they wanted the play FIFA. Louis and Harry sat and played while Niall laid back down across me and Liam watch the boys play. I rubbed Niall's back as I watched them play. They were doing more yelling then playing.
"You fucking suck Styles!" Louis yelled punching Harry in the arm.
"Don't get mad just because I won," Harry laughed.
"I call for a rematch!" Louis demanded.
"I call playing the winner!" Liam said.
"You're on!" Harry said looking back at Liam.
"You haven't wont yet Styles!" Louis yelled. Niall laughed and then coughed. I couldn't help but smile.
"You doing alright bud?" I asked looking down at Niall. He cleared his throat and nodded. "Do you want some water?" I asked. He nodded then pointed to his empty mug of tea. "And tea, got it," I chuckled. He sat up letting me get up to get him some water and more tea. The boys started yelling again which made me smile. I came back with some water and more tea for Niall. He held out his arms for me to sit down so he could cuddle into me. I ran my fingers through his hair. "What happened?" I asked looking at Liam.
"Harry scored," he replied.
"Harry fucking cheats," Louis yelled.
"How am I cheating?" Harry asked looking over at him.
"I don't know you just do," Louis said. Harry rolled his eyes. Harry ended up winning that game too. He laughed as Louis stood up throwing the controller on the couch.
"Go at him Liam," he said switching spots with him. Liam picked up the controller and started playing. Louis sighed and sat back on the couch. I couldn't help back laugh at him.
"You get so into that game Lou," I laughed.
"Hey now, FIFA is not a game. It's a way of life," he said pointing at me.
"Oh my bad. Forgive me," I said sarcastically. He chuckled.
"How you doing Nialler?" Louis asked. Niall gave him a thumbs up. "You just love having your girlfriend take care of you," Louis teased. Niall looked up at me and smiled. I laughed.
"I can't even argue with him," I laughed. His smile grew and he laid back down.
"What!" Harry yelled.
"Oh yeah, that's right!" Liam yelled back.
"Ha! Serves you right. You're cheating doesn't work with Payneo!" Louis called.
"Best two out of three!" Harry said.
"You're on." With that they started a new game. I shook my head. I checked my watch.
"Hey buddy it's about time for dinner and more medicine. You wanna eat?" I asked him. He nodded. He sat up so I could get up. Louis and I both went to the kitchen to get some food ready for the other guys. By the time we were done Harry had beaten Liam in another game. "Bring the game to a halt and come eat guys," I called to them.
"To be continued!" Liam said jumping up. I took Niall his dinner and medicine and sat back down with him. He took his medicine and ate dinner happily. The other boys ate their dinner then jumped back over to finish their game.
"You done?" I asked Niall.
"Yeah, thanks darling." That was the first time he spoke since this morning.
"You sound a lot better buddy," I said taking his plate.
"I feel better. Throat's still sore but not nearly as bad," he said with a smile.
"You'll be just fine in another day or two," I said sitting back down. He laid head on my shoulder and I wrapped my arms around him.
"Thanks for taking such good care of me love," he said sweetly.
"Any time buddy," I kissed his head. Niall was back to normal after another day of rest and was just fine for their next concert.
