Karl looked down at the corn dog he was holding in his Left hand,A worried Expression on his face.
"Karl?"
Karl snapped out of his thoughts,all of a sudden,the early 2010s Music started playing again.
He looked up at his wife.
?:"what's wrong?"
Karl:"i don't think i want this corn dog anymore..."
His wife looked at him annoyed.
?:"karl,are you fucking serious."
Karl shrugged.
?:"you've been bugging me about wanting a corn dog ALL morning and now you don't want it?!"
Karl laughed.
Karl:"it looks weird!"
?:"i hate you.."
They laughed.
Karl and his wife were standing in the middle of the gym,decorated like a school dance and surrounded by a bunch of other adults who used to go here,it was a Highschool reunion.
It's been 10 years since Karl graduated,and he now had a completely different life.
He was married,had a kid,had a nice house,
He was the spitting image of the textbook happily married American dream.
Life was good,life moved on but....he was excited to see all of his old friends and teachers.
?:"should we go do shots with the jocks?-"
"KARL JACOBS?"
Karl immediately turned his head in the direction of his name being called.
He knew exactly who this was.
He heard 'his' laugh come closer and closer until he carelessly pushed a couple aside to stand infront of Karl.
Quackity:"as i live and breath?!-"
Karl:"Quackity!"
Karl gasped,they immediately hugged each other.
Karl had a huge smile on his face,he hasn't seen Quackity since they split up to go to different Colleges.
They Held each other like they were in broke back Mountain before eventually pulling away.
Karl:"I can't believe you made it!"
Quackity:"dude,ofcourse! Cant Miss out on a Chance to See all These people again?"
They were clearly Happy to see each other...

Karl looked Quackity up and down.
He still kinda dressed like he used too in high school,mostly black clothing but he pulled it off.
He cut his hair into more of a mullet,wich Karl didn't expect him to pull off so well.
He was still wearing that fucking beanie,
A beanie pared with a hoodie under a thick jacket and a Pare of black jeans.
Karl could tell Quackity was staring him down too,but he didn't seem pleased...
Karl took his hand off of his shoulders and backed up so he could do a little spin for him.
Quackity,as always,couldn't hide his confusion.
Quackity:"why do you look so.....Square? Like why do you look so Upper middle Class-Like"
Karl scoffed.
Karl:"because I am Upper middle class? I got a really good job,a kid and speaking of..."
Karl got Next to his wife and put his arm around her waist.
Karl:"a wife!"
Quackity looked at them for a few seconds.
They did make a pretty cute couple.
Quackity:"uh....wow! As if your...married! With a fuckin kid and a- woman?"
Quackity tried to say the things coming to mind while also trying to make sense.
They looked at Quackity confused.
Karl:"um..anyways,her names Ashley,we met on College"
Quackity smiled and shook her hand.
Quackity:"so nice to meet you! College sweethearts,huh?"
She nodded with a polite smile.
She had brown hair and a gorgeous face,
Beautiful smile too.
Quackity:"yeah,me and Karl used to fuck ALL the time in high school!"
He laughed like it was actually funny.
Karl's wife awkwardly laughed along while looking at Karl unsure.
Karl just smiled uncomfortably.
Karl:"he- he's just Joshin!"
Ashley laughed Like that made it funny.
Quackity wasnt really sure what to do right now.
He just kinda stood there,it felt weird.
Him and Karl were best freinds,they stuck together Like glue in middle school and high school,until things developed and....it turned into more.
They hung out every single day,Quackity would spend Nights in a row at Karl's house,
And Karl would do the same.
On graduation night,Quackity and Karl got really drunk and ended up having sex on the football field.
After that,they spent the summer together before going their separate ways,keeping in touch lasted for a good 4 and a half years until it eventually turned into only having each other as friends on Facebook and at that point no one used Facebook anymore so...
They grew apart,and that was that?
It was unfortunate,but they had their own lives.
Quackity felt a little embarrassed that he wasn't married yet,but it's not like he was in his thirties,and he never really expected to marry anyone other than Karl but...obviously,
Karl thought differently.
They looked really happy together,and a whole Kid? Like karl Jacobs actually had sex and impregnated a woman? It just seemed wrong.
Quackity wanted to be happy for him,he really did but....
Quackity:"karl,you wanna take a stroll through memory lane?"
Quackity suggested,referring to their school halls and classrooms.
All Quackity wanted right now was to have a long conversation with karl,just like old times,
And then have really good sex....also like old times.
Karl:"sure! Um,sweetie is it okay if we?-"
"Oh,ofcourse! You guys have fun"
She said politely as she kissed Karl's cheek and lightly squeezed his arm.
Quackity awkwardly looked away until it was over.
She patted karl on the back and he went off with Quackity.
They smiled at each other as they left the crowd,they didn't even care about anyone else there anymore.
They went Into the hallway,no one was there.
They could've walked too their trophy case to talk about the computer club award Karl got back then,or laugh about their old 2010 haircuts,they could've went to their old classroom or go outside,but Quackity had other plans.
He walked to a janitors closet,Karl knew exactly where he was going.
He laughed as he realized where Quackity was taking him.
Quackity opened the blue door for Karl.
They walked into the cramped janitors room,
Only one dim and exposed lightbulb on the ceiling to light the room.
Karl:"this place holds so much memories...."
Quackity:"yeah,and disgusting teenager bacteria."
He scoffed as he got a pack of cigarettes out of his jacket pocket.
Karl:"well,to be fair most of it is probably ours"
Quackity laughed.
Quackity:"that's true.."
Quackity put the cigarette in his mouth and smirked.
Quackity:"so,married huh?"
Karl sat down on the washing machine behind him and scoffed at Quackitys awkward attempt at trying to not be passive aggressive.
Karl:"yup,married for almost a year"
Quackity:"hey,why didn't you invite me?"
Karl laughed.
Karl:"liked I'd want you at my wedding!"
Quackity rolled his eyes.
Quackity:"alright,fair enough...."
Quackity looked at Karl,he remembered that Karl wasn't too fond of smoking.
Karl watched Quackity develop his little 'cigarette phase' when they were 16,But it was only a Phase so Quackity eventually stopped when he was 19.
I guess he got back into it..
Quackity took the cigarette out and put it back in its box,trying to act normal.
Karl smiled and tucked his hair behind his ear,
He couldn't hide it.
Karl:"sooo,uhh...what have you been up too?"
Quackity:"well....as you know,I got a bachelors in law,and after that I started working at this law firm,worked there for about 3 years while living in a dingy apartment all because I was saving up to take a year break from doing anything at all!"
Karl:"wait,so you just saved up a bunch of money to do nothing?"
Quackity:"Best decisions of my life,I have a nice house and an awesome life,all while not working! And when I run out of money,I'll just go back to work!"
Karl:".......wow....you've always had an interesting way of thinking.."
Quackity nodded proudly.
There was silence,Quackity tried his best not to grab the cigarette he just put away,but he wanted Karl to be comfortable.
Quackity:"sooooo what,are you Like,straight now? Or bi or something...."
Karl looked at him confused.
Karl:"uh....I haven't given it much thought These past few years,I'm in a straight marriage so There isnt really any Need to keep thinking about those types of stuff...."
Quackity nodded as he looked on the ground.
He expected Karl would grow into his sexuality since he's always been okay with it,but I guess he just passed it off as a Phase.
Karl looked around while he wondered when the awkward silence would end.
Karl:"what about you?"
Quackity:"oh,definitely Gay."
Karl laughed.
Quackity:"and Straight...I dunno- but how'd you have Sex with you wife? Like,does she peg you or do you just lay there and let her do all the work?-"
Karl:"quackity!"
Quackity looked at him.
Karl:"can you loosen up a little?! We're at a reunion,im glad to See my old friend again so let's just chill!"
Quackity:"chill?"
Karl nodded.
Quackity:"...but that's No fun? I'm just curious on what your life is Like These days"
Karl:"well- then just ask about how much Money im Making,what my kids Name is,
where I moved to?!"
Quackity:"but i don't care about any of that stuff?"
Karl sighed and rolled his head back.
Quackity:"wh- Karl we're Friends! Why are you being like this?-"
Karl:"we were definitely more than freinds-"
Quackity:"yeah,obviously,so why is it weird that im just asking you questions?"
Karl:"because your making it weird! Your acting like your expecting us to hook up again or something!"
Quackity looked at Karl and scoffed.
Quackity:"are you fucking kidding me?"
His tone changed,he smirked like he was ready to rip Karls throat out.
Karl shrugged.
Karl:"you- you bring me into this closet and ask me all these questions about my sex life- I'm married!"
Quackity:"what the hell happened to you? When did you become like this? Your acting like you don't have free will,Karl you are MORE than allowed to walk out of this closet mright now."
Quackity opened the door.
Karl looked at Quackity,this wasn't Supposed to happen.
He got off of the washing machine and walked over to Quackity.
He looked at the open door.
Should be A.) go back to his wife or B.) stay with Quackity even if it was really awkward.
Karl sighed and closed the door before running his hands up his face and Into his hair.
Karl:"Lex- lets not be like this...."
Karl leaned against the wall across from Quackity.
Karl looked at him,Quackity was still a little salty.
He crossed his arms and sniffed as he avoided eye contact with Karl.
Karl:"I really missed you..."
Quackity looked at him,he shrugged.
Quackity:"I really Missed you too..."
Karl smiled apologetically,feeling bad for the way he turned on Quackity.
Karl:"you got a girlfriend? Boyfreind?"
Quackity shook his head.
Karl:"how many freinds with benefits?"
Quackity:"probably like....4"
Karl laughed.
Karl:"Jesus..."
Quackity smiled.
Quackity:"yeahhh,im at the Point of my Life where most people I befriend I end up hooking up with...it's weird"
Karl:"you lookin for a meaningful connection?"
Quackity looked at Karl for a few seconds before answering.
Quackity:"uhm,I dont know,actually.....i have no idea what I want,guess I'm not really in a rush"
Karl:"I respect that,I got married at 26 and...."
Karl sighed and looked down.
Quackity tried to hide his smile,Karl seemed to regret his marrige wich was SAD.....but also kind of an advantage for Quackity.
Quackity wanted Karl to Tell him he regretted everything,Not moving in with him and taking a gap year,not getting married as a 'joke',not meeting up every holiday,not making time for him because things with his then-girlfriend were getting serious,Everything.
Quackity wanted Karl to admit that he's been inlove with him all These years,he'll leave his wife and kid to go be with him Like in brokeback mountian.
But deep down,Quackity knew he was being delusional,and after this Night,they'll Go back to being Nothing other than 'old friends'.
Quackitys smile faded as he realized.
Quackity:"you regnet it?"
Karl shrugged.
Karl:"I love my wife,shes my best friend...I love my kid...I just..."
Quackity looked at him.
'-wish i had Never married her and been with you instead' would be a nice way to end the sentence,but Karl had other plans.
He buried his face in his hands ashamed and frustrated.
Karl:"I just wish I would've never came here to see your dumb face..."
Okay,rude?
Quackity wasn't sure if that was a joke or not.
Quackity:"okay,fuck you too?-"
Karl:"you and your dumb face! And your stupid fucking axe cologne,your dumb borderline emo clothes and- you haven't changed!"
Quackity:"what are you mad about now?!-"
Karl:"myself! I thought I could see you but I can't,I still love you,I never stopped loving you and I really REALLY missed you fucking me!"
This was technically exactly what Quackity wanted to hear,but it didn't feel right.
Quackity crossed his arms.
Karl looked at him.
Karl:"Lex,never in my life have I ever been mad at you....but this is just...wrong time,
wrong place"
Quackity:"we could just hook up right now?"
Karl:"and cheat on my wife? I have a kid at home?-"
Quackity:"you want me!"
Karl:"not like this?!"
Quackity scoffed annoyed.
Karl was really complicating things.
It might not be the most moral thing,but Quackity couldn't care less about Karl's wife or his kid.
Quackity:"honestly Karl..."
Karl scratched his head and closed his eyes,
Ready to doze off,he knew Quackity was about to humble him.
Quackity:"your really fucking stupid,like actually your a moron,you come here,I just wanna talk to the person I loved more than anything and you turn it into a petty argument,like it's somehow my fault your faggot ass got married to a woman."
Karl didn't know how to react,but he knew Quackity was right.
Karl:"I'm sorry...I'm sorry Quackity...I'm sorry I got married,I'm sorry I love my wife,I'm sorry I had a kid...I'm sorry I cut you out of my life.."
They both wanted to cry at this point.
Quackity took a deep breath before he sniffed and looked away.
Quackity:"I fuckin hate you,man..."
Karl:"please don't say that.."
Karl voice sounded shaky.
They looked at each other.
Quackity looked him up and down,he decided to give it one last try.
Quackity:"you sure you don't just wanna hook up and...make up?"
Karl smiled,but Quackity the knew the answer was no.
He nodded.
Karl:"I'm sorry,Lex..."
Quackity felt a tear drop down his cheek,he quickly wiped it before anymore could come out.
Karl:"I can't,I really can't....god knows I really want too but....I'm sorry."
Quackity nodded and brushed his hair back before sniffing again.
Quackity walked over the door and left.
He didn't even say goodbye,he didn't even look back at Karl.
Karl felt like this was the last time he was gonna see Quackity,and that made him break.
He put his hands on his eyes,as if he could just shove the tears back into his eyes.
He sobbed,feeling like a kid,a toddler,a damsel in distress.
He didn't know who's fault this was,maybe this could've all been avoided if they stayed in contact,if Karl didn't propose to his girlfriend,
If he met up with Quackity more often.
But it was too late now.
