After Cana revealed that the lacrima in the sky would release lightning bolts if they were to discharge, Bisca quickly summons her sniper rifle as she takes aim at one of the lacrima.
Bisca : I won't let that happen!
Bisca then locks her sights on one of the lacrima and attacks it with her Stinger Shot and shatters the lacrima.
Lucy : All right!
Cana : Way to go, Bisca!
Bisca : I'll take care of all these—
Suddenly, Bisca was struck with lightning causing her to scream in pain before she collapsed on the ground. Levy then hurries over to Bisca and lifts her head off the ground and tries to wake her up.
Natsu : Hey! Say something, Bisca!
Levy : Bisca! Stay with us!
Lucy : What the...?! What's going on?!
Cana : Body link magic!
Lucy : Body link magic?
Cana : There's a spell on those lacrima that links the damage they receive to whoever causes the damage!
Lucy : Huh?!
Cana : In short, if you attack them, the same amount of damage will be directed back at you.
Levy : Oh no! If we don't do something, all the citizens will be...!
Cana : We have to take down Laxus! Let's go!
Lucy : I'll try to evacuate as many townspeople as I can!
Happy : I'll come with you!
Cana : There are still two Thunder Legion members out there! Be careful!
Lucy quickly runs off to warn the townspeople and evacuate them from the area while Happy follows her. Cana also runs off as Juvia goes with her so that they could find Laxus and defeat him before he activates the Thunder Palace.
Natsu looks up at the lightning lacrimas and grits his teeth in irritation as he couldn't believe Laxus would go so far.
Natsu : What is that bastard thinking?!
Natsu jumps over the railing and tries to jump off the roof but he runs into the invisible wall set up by Fried's enchantment. Natsu doesn't give up and charges at the invisible wall even though he knew he couldn't get past it.
Natsu : If you wanna be master so bad, then just fight Gramps! I've had enough of your crap, Laxus!
Levy : Natsu! Calm down!
Natsu : I can't!
Levy : Just listen!
Natsu : Damn! There's an invisible wall here too!
Levy : It's an enchantment.
Gajeel : We already know.
Levy : It's a type of script magic. I might be able to do something!
Gajeel : *surprised* What?!
Natsu : Really, Levy?!
Levy : I have faith you guys can stop Laxus!

Meanwhile with Lucy, she was walking through the streets of Magnolia as she was heading down to the town to warn everyone and evacuate them.
Happy : Why can't we just use the guild's loudspeaker?
Lucy : There's an enchantment that says only the master can use it during the Battle of Fairy Tail. They sure were meticulous about every little thing... Anyway, we gotta get the townspeople away from the Thunder Palace.
Happy : Actually, I don't think that's a good idea.
Lucy : Why not?!
Happy : There are lots of townspeople from other towns here from the festival. The city is jam-packed.
Lucy : But they're all concerned about those lacrimas!
Happy : Which is why it'll only cause a panic if we explain what they are. Tons of people will get hurt!
Lucy : But, then... What should we do?
??? : Yeah!
??? : What should we do?!
??? : Yeah!
Lucy looks to where the three voices came from and sees three totems floating behind her making her jumps slightly. The totems then open fire on Lucy as Happy acts quickly and grabs the back of her shirt and flies up into the air and lands on top of a building.
Lucy : What the heck?!
Happy : It's Bixlow!
Bixlow : Yo!
Bixlow then flies down to the ground and lands on top of the flagpole on a toy store that was across from the building Lucy and Happy were one.
Bixlow : Are you the newbie everyone's telling stories about?
Lucy : What do you mean by "stories"?! I'm almost afraid to ask!
Bixlow : You're a cosplay-loving, macho dominatrix with violent mood swings, right?
Lucy : What kind of crazy exaggerations did you hear?!
Bixlow : What are you supposed to be? A cheerleader?
Totem #1 & Totem #2 : Cheerleader!
Totem #3 : Cheer!
Lucy : *slightly embarrassed* This is...!
Bixlow : Okay, my babies! Get 'er!
Bixlow's totems respond to his command and start to fire their lasers down at Lucy and Happy forcing the two to jump out of the way.
Bixlow : I won't go easy on you since you're new and all, but we are in the middle of an intense game, you see...
Luy : Do you honestly think our master will let you guys get away with everything you've done!
Bixlow : We don't care what he thinks. By the time this game is over, Laxus will be the new master.
Bixlow commands his totems to fire their lasers at Lucy once again as she jumps back to avoid being hit.
Lucy : Those flying things are annoying!
Lucy grabs one of her golden celestial spirit keys and uses it to summon her newest celestial spirit, Sagittarius.
Sagittarius : You called, hello?
Bixlow : Oh! Celestial magic! Wait, your celestial spirits cosplay too?
Lucy : It's not like that! *to Sagittarius* Aim at those flying things! Okay?
Sagittarius : Understood, hello!
Sagittarius then aims his bow at Bixlow's totems as he fires multiple arrows at them and destroys them easily.
Bixlow : Oh, my babies! First you were frozen, and now you're blasted to bits?!
Lucy & Happy : All right!
Sagittarius : Thus, hello!
Bixlow : No! My babies!
Lucy : This is your last chance to surrender!
Happy : Your last chance!
Sagittarius : Hello!
Bixlow : Oh, my babies... My babies...! Gotcha!
Suddenly, a pillar of green energy heads straight towards Sagittarius and strikes the celestial spirit causing an explosion to emit and dealing a large amount of damage to the celestial spirit.
Lucy : Sagittarius!
Sagittarius : Hello...? I require a short repose... Thus...
Sagittarius, who wasn't able to handle the damage he took, disappears from where he was and returns to the spirit world.
Lucy : Oh, no!
Bixlow then commands multiple dolls in the toy store to fly up into the air and in front of Lucy.
Bixlow : Beneath me is a hobby shop! A treasure trove of dolls!
Lucy : What are those things?
Bixlow : It makes no difference how many of my dolls you destroy; their souls are what I control!
Lucy : Souls?!
Happy : Bixlow uses magic to possess dolls with souls.
Lucy : Then this time I'll—
Suddenly, one of Bixlow's dolls then flies over to Lucy and grabs her gatekeys out of her hand.
Lucy : My keys!
Happy : I'll get 'em back!
Happy summons his wings and flies after the doll that stole Lucy's keys but was soon kicked out of the air by another doll. Back with Lucy, the other dolls were flying towards her as she did her best to dodge all of them but she falls to the ground.
Bixlow : There's no turning back now. So sorry, cosplay girl. *menacingly* Give up your soul for Laxus. Baryon Formation!
The dolls then regroup before flying around in a circle while emitting a green light preparing to unleash another attack at Lucy.
The dolls then release a pillar of green energy at Lucy while Happy was stuck underneath some rubble and wasn't able to move, but suddenly, before the dolls' laser could reach Lucy, she was soon picked up by a figure who jumps out of the way of the laser.
Bixlow slightly looks down and sees the culprit who had saved Lucy.
Bixlow : Oh? Finally decided to show up, huh? You're joining the Battle of Fairy Tail? Huh?!
After saving Lucy just in time from Bixlow, Goku puts Lucy on the ground and checks if she was hurt.
Goku : Are you okay, Lucy?
Lucy : Yeah... Goku, be careful! That guy is...
Goku : By the way, what's with all the lacrima floating in the air? Are they fireworks for the festival or something?
Lucy : It's because of Laxus! He put those things up there! If those things go off, then the entire town is gonna be destroyed!
Goku : Laxus, huh? I knew he was a bad guy but I didn't think he would go this far just to become the new master. All right, I'm gonna settle things with him; starting with the Thunder Legion.
Goku turns around and faces Bixlow with a serious expression while Bixlow isn't intimidated by Goku's sudden appearance.
Bixlow : *chuckles* You're going to take care of the Thunder Legion alone, you say? You're a strange one.
Lucy : ( What is he thinking? He hasn't gone crazy, has he? )
Bixlow : At least make this a little bit entertaining.
Doll #1 : Entertain us!
Doll #1 : Make it fun!
Bixlow : Okay, are you ready? Let's rough him up, my bab—
Before Bixlow can finish his sentence, Goku suddenly appears in front of the wizard with a punch already thrown at him. The wizard wasn't given any time to even think and the only thing he saw was Goku's fist which slams into his face as he gets smashed into the hobby shop.
Goku: Sorry. Say that again, would you?
Lucy: ( N-No way...! He beat Bixlow in one shot?! I blinked for a second and he was already down! )

Back at the guild, the enchantment updated after Bixlow's swift defeat. Since Fried's enchantment couldn't pick up Goku's presence it showed Natsu and Gajeel that Lucy was the one who beat him.
Natsu: Oh! Lucy won!
Gajeel: Are you serious?! That cheerleader can fight?!
Natsu: Lucy's pretty tough!
Gajeel: You gotta be kidding me! She's just a cheerleader!
Levy: Way to go, Lu! I won't let them outshine me, either!
Levy continues to decipher Fried's enchantments while Natsu and Gajeel were arguing over the Tortoise and the Hare story.
Levy: If I can just reword this part to rewrite the enchantment. But this is the toughest part...
Levy then soon starts to think of ways to rewrite a part of the enchantment when the realization hit her.
Levy: That's it!
Gajeel & Natsu: What's what?
Levy: Yes! You're supposed to decipher the two grammars at separate rates! You take the integral number of synchronized letters in a single pass, transform them into Geel grammar, and then translate that into Logue!
The small wizard stands up with the stack of papers in her hands with a victorious smile.
Levy: *happily* I got it!
Natsu & Gajeel: *amazed* Oh!
Levy: I'll rewrite the enchantment!
Natsu & Gajeel: Yeah!
Levy: Natsu... Gajeel... Are you all set? You're about to join the Battle of Fairy Tail!
Natsu covers his hand in intense flames and gives Levy his answer.
Natsu: I'm all fired up!
Gajeel: I'm gonna go to town on 'em!

Meanwhile in another part of town, Cana and Juvia were running through town trying to find Laxus' location and stop him from activating the Thunder Palace.
Cana : How long do we have until the Thunder Palace turns on?!
Juvia : About 30 minutes.
Cana : Damn that Laxus... Battle of Fairy Tail, my butt! All he's doing is sitting around and hiding!
Juvia : Where could he be?
??? : Laxus is gathering magic energy.
The two girls stop running and turn around to where they heard the voice and see Fried who was standing on a building.
Fried : He's gathering his strength as we speak, so he can fight our master with all his might.
Cana : Fried!
Juvia : He's the one behind the enchantments...?
Fried turns his body into enchantment runes and flees the scene while Cana and Juvia chase after him. The two girls follow Fried all the way out the outskirts of town when suddenly, the two step into one of the wizard's traps as they were surrounded by an enchantment.
Cana : An enchantment!
Juvia : A trap?!
Cana : The rule is... Exit from this enchantment is forbidden...
Juvia : ...until one of us is KO'd?
Fried then appears in front of the two girls with his back facing them.
Fried : I will face the winner. Begin.
Cana : That's a dirty trick, Fried! If you wanna go one-on-one, then forget this crap! I'll take you on! Let us out! Or, what? Are you afraid of fighting both of us at once? Afraid of two girls... You're pathetic, Fried!
Fried : I simply wish to avoid dirtying my own hands, that's all.
Cana : *mad* Say what?!
Juvia : Making your friends fight each other like this...
Fried : Friends? Well, I do have hopes that Cana will be the one left standing. Juvia Loxar. You're nothing but a Phantom tramp. There's no telling when you will point a blade at Fairy Tail.
Cana : Fried! Why, you...!
Juvia : It looks like there's no other choice...
Juvia transforms her entire body into water catching Cana off guard as she was shocked by her sudden action.
Cana : Juvia! What are you...?!
Juvia : Mr. Fried. Will you really keep your word and fight us if one of us falls?
Fried : I would never break a rule.
Juvia : That's a relief.
Cana : Are you serious, Juvia?! That's exactly what he wants...!
Juvia then charges forwards as Cana closes her eyes expecting Juvia to attack her, however, Juvia misses Cana and hits the invisible wall set up by Fried's enchantment as she starts to head straight up into the air.
Fried : It's no use! There is no way out of the enchantment, however high you go!
Juvia : Instead of hurting someone... Instead of hurting a friend...
Cana and Fried follow where Juvia was heading and soon see that she was heading directly towards one of the Thunder Palace lacrimas.
Fried : *shocked* A lacrima?!
Cana : No, don't attack it!
Juvia : ...Juvia would rather open the way!
Finally, mere inches away from the lacrima, Juvia crashes into it and shatters the device as Cana's eyes widen in deep shock while Juvia looks down at Cana with a smile. However, the wizard was soon struck with a lightning strike as she screams out in pain as she falls to the ground.
Cana : Juvia!
Cana hurries over to Juvia's side to check on her friend as the enchantment disappears and looks down at her worried.
Juvia : The enchantment... is broken now...
Cana : What are you thinking?!
Juvia : Juvia really wants to be accepted... as a member of Fairy Tail... She loves everyone...
Cana : *crying* What are you talking about? You've been one of us for a long time now! "Accepted"? You've been one of us for a long time now! You're an outstanding member of Fairy Tail!
Juvia : *relieved* Cana... Juvia is happy—
Before she could finish her sentence Juvia reaches her limit and soon falls unconscious from the pain while Fried had a shocked expression.
Fried : ( Wh-What?! She chose her friend's survival over her own...? )
A Ki blast soon flies onto the scene as Fried barely dodged it as the blast hit a rock and destroys it. Cana and Fried look to where the attack came from and see that the attacker was Goku.
Goku: So that lacrima going off was because of Juvia, huh?
Cana: Goku...
Goku walks forwards and looks down and sees the injured Juvia as his anger becomes visible on his face.
Fried: So you've been here this entire time, eh? Have you been hiding this entire time? It appears you've shown your true colour, Z-class.
Goku: Cana, take care of Juvia. Fried is mine.
Goku then takes one step forwards but in front of him was the same enchantment that trapped Cana and Juvia.
Fried: ( When two or more people walk into that zone, it will activate. And the two of you won't be able to leave until one is— )
Fried soon cuts himself off as his eyes slightly widen in shock as he saw Goku step on his trap but it didn't activate.
Fried: Wh-What?! My enchantment didn't activate?!
Goku: I don't really get it myself, but that's not important right now.
Goku gets into his fighting stance and Fried does the same while the sclera of his eye turns black while his iris turns purple as he activated his Dark Ecriture.
Fried then dashes towards Goku and swings his sword at him with the enchantment "Slash" on it to increase the cutting power of his sword. He then slices Goku across the chest with his sword before following up with a kick.
At the same time his kick landed, Fried sees that Goku didn't even budge and that he felt extremely durable.
Fried: ( Huh? He didn't even budge. It didn't even feel like I kicked a person. Also... he wasn't cut! )
Goku: It's my turn now, right?
Goku balls his hand into a fist and punches Fried in the face with immense strength as the wizard bounces off the ground and is launched away from the area.
Cana eyes widened in shock at Goku's power since she knew he was strong but never saw him in action.
Cana: ( He's on another level. So this is what it means to be a Z-class wizard. )
Goku: Hey, Cana.
Cana: Yeah?
Goku: I saw Mira a while ago with Elfman and she said I should bring any injured I find to the guildhall. Can you carry Juvia by yourself?
Cana: I can. You just focus on fighting Fried!
Goku: Got it.
Goku starts to walk forward while Cana picks up Juvia and puts the fallen wizard on her back.
Cana: Beat him for me and Juvia's sake!
Goku: I was planning on it!
Goku gets into a running position and sprints towards Fried's location by tracking his Ki.

Meanwhile with Fried, he was standing up from the ground while wiping the blood that was pouring from his nose. He looks around and sees that he was sent all the way out to the bridge over the lake.
Fried: ( I thought I saw death for a moment! ) Why would he stand up for that Phantom Tramp?
Fried then suddenly hears someone touch down on the bridge and looks up and sees that it was Goku.
Fried: You're tough. I guess that's to be expected from a longtime guild member.
Goku: Take it back. Take back what you said about Juvia being a Phantom Tramp!
Fried doesn't respond and uses his sword to put an enchantment on Goku's forehead.
Fried: Dark Ecriture: Pain. Those letters will become reality and physically affect you.
A few seconds then pass but the enchantment doesn't activate. Instead, it just shatters on his forehead as the letters land on the floor.
Fried: *shocked* What?!
Fried puts enchantments that would induce terror and suffering on Goku and follows up with a bunch of pain enchantments.
However, none of these were even slightly effective as they don't activate and shatter into pieces.
Fried: What is happening?! Why won't my Dark Ecriture work on you?! Are you some kind of monster?!
Because Goku has no magic energy, magic like Dark Ecriture consider him to be in the same class as buildings or structures.
Unless Goku consents to the condition he can't be affected by enchantments. The effect of Dark Ecriture had no way to recognize Goku who had no magic energy.
Fried : Dark Écriture: Destruction.
Fried charges towards Goku once again and jumps into the air as he swiftly swings his sword down onto Goku, but he quickly jumps back as Fried's sword strike destroys part of the bridge.
Fried continues to charge towards Goku and continues to swing his sword at Goku as the wizard continues to dodge each of Fried's attacks. Fried quickly thrusts his sword at Goku who acts quickly by doing a side-step and avoids Fried's attack before kneeing the wizard in the face.
Fried stumbles back a bit from the attack and Goku sees an opening and high-kicks Fried in the chin knocking him up into the air.
With incredible reaction time, Goku quickly spins around to gain more momentum for his next attack as he punches Fried in the gut sending him away a couple feet.
Fried soon regains his composure and raises his blade up and stabs it into the ground and stops himself from going back. More runes appear around Fried's sword as he looks up at Goku with an angry glare.
Fried : Dark Écriture: Dragon.
Suddenly, a large dragon made out of Fried's runes comes up from the bridge as the monster looks down at Goku who gets into a fighting stance. Fried sends the dragon towards the wizard as Goku clenches his fist tightly as blue energy starts to emit from his entire body while staying still.
As soon as the rune dragon was close to him, Goku crouches to the ground as he charges forwards as the dragon opens its mouth and Goku flies into the dragon's mouth as the creature closes its mouth. Suddenly, the runes on the dragon start to shake violently before Goku crashes through the creature making it disappear as he charges towards Fried whose eyes widen in deep shock.
Goku : You shouldn't insult your other guildmates like that, Fried. Take it back.
Goku then clenches his fist and punches Fried in the face knocking him back a bit before Goku lands on his feet before he swings a strong uppercut and launches him into the air. Goku flies into the air and chases after Fried and kicks him up higher into the air as Goku heads straight up into the air and passes Fried.
Goku then falls down towards Fried as he raises both hands in the air and cups them together and brings them back. Letting out a loud battle cry, Goku slams his fist down onto Fried who tries to write another rune, but when Goku brings his fists down, he breaks Fried's sword and sends him falling through the air as he crashes into the ground.
Suddenly, Fried comes flying out of the mountain of rubble that he was in with wings he created with his Dark Écriture as he flies up into the air as he looks at Goku with an irritated expression.
Fried : I've no other choice... Fight evil with evil! Dark Écriture!
Fried swings his arm to the side and writes a rune on his chest as his entire body was soon surrounded by a dark aura. As Goku keeps his eyes on Fried, he soon sees that the wizard's size keeps growing bigger and bigger.
The dark aura surrounding Fried finally disappears as it reveals that the rune he used had transformed him.
Fried : I won't be defeated by the likes of you! I won't let Laxus down!
A large magic circle appears in front of Fried as the wizard unleashes a large amount of dark energy as he molds it into the shape of a tornado and sends it towards Goku. Goku doesn't lose his composure as he flies straight towards the tornado.
Goku : Ka... me... ha... me...
As soon as the attack is mere inches away from Goku, the wizard quickly flies straight up into the sky and avoids the attack at the last second as he cups his hands together and aims them behind him as he fires a Kamehameha. This causes Goku to be boosted towards Fried as he swings a heavy right blow at Fried, hitting him in the face.
Fried becomes staggered from the attack and was launched back as Goku catches up to him and spins vertically and knees Fried in the stomach with immense strength, sending him flying towards a mountain before he crashes through it and lands in a cavern
Fried lands on the ground, holding his stomach in pain but ignores it as best as he could and stands up from the ground. Fried then looks up as he sees Goku who was standing a few feet away with his arms crossed and his same serious expression.
Goku : Give up, Fried. There's no point in us or anyone in the guild having a senseless battle like this over something so petty. We're comrades... Members of the same guild... Regardless of what Phantom Lord might have done, Juvia is still a member of Fairy Tail and she's doing her best to earn her way into the guild. I won't let you get away with your insult to her. Take it back.
Fried : Never! Shut your mouth! I will never accept that tramp or Gajeel for what they have done to Fairy Tail! Makarov is a fool for letting them into the guild! That's what the Battle of Fairy Tail is for! To alter the framework of this entire guild! That is Laxus' wish, so it is my wish!
Goku listened to Fried's words as the bangs of his hair were covering his face as he couldn't help but feel angry at Fried as it showed on his face.
Goku : If that's your logic, then the same can be said about you and the Thunder Legion! You've set everyone in Fairy Tail against each other just because Laxus told you to?! Gramps treats everyone in the guild like his children. We're a family! And you'd destroy a happy place like that just because Laxus disagrees on how we do things?! You're no better than any other dark wizards!
Fried : You're wrong...!
Fried manages to stand up on his feet as Goku starts to walk towards him with the same furious expression as it makes Fried sweat as he takes a step back.
Fried : S-Stay back!
Fried uses his dark energy to create a sphere in his left hand and attempts to fire it at Goku, but Goku charges towards Fried with incredible speed and grabs his hand making the sphere of energy disappear.
Fried looks down and sees that Goku was standing next to him as he was shocked by Goku's speed.
Goku : You won't harm Fairy Tail anymore.
Fried : Ugh!
Fried swings his leg at Goku as he reacts by jumping to dodge the attack as Fried acts quickly and brings his arm back before throwing a straight punch at Goku. However, Goku dodges the attack by levitating over to the left before he backhands Fried in the face, sending him crashing into a wall.
Fried : *furious* Why you...! You worm!
Fried quickly stands up from the ground and dashes towards Goku as he surrounds his fists into dark energy and attacks Goku with multiple swift punches. Goku swiftly dodges each incoming punch with ease, annoying Fried as the wizard knees Fried in the face.
Goku then elbows Fried on top of his head before he grabs Fried and slams him into the ground with incredible force. Annoyed by Goku's actions, dark energy starts to emit from Fried's body causing Goku to jump back from him as Fried gets back on his feet.
Goku then puts both his arms in front of him and gets into a stance as he was waiting for Fried to make his next move. Fried then comes rushing out of the cloud of smoke caused by the release of his dark energy as he charges straight towards Goku.
Fried cocks back his fist and gets ready to angrilly throw his fist at Goku who points both of his hands directly at Fried. Suddenly, white energy surrounds Fried's entire body as it immobilizes the wizard and stops his movements.
Fried : *shocked* Huh?!
Goku raises both his arms in the air as Fried was raised higher in the air and directly above Goku who was glaring intensely at him.
Goku crouches down near the ground as he clenches his fist tightly as ki starts to emit from his fist. Goku shouts a battle cry before jumping towards Fried and throws a punch and hits him directly in the gut.
The aftershock from the attack caused the whole mountain to break as the pieces of rubble started to rain down. Goku then throws Fried who was unconscious from the attack to the ground and walks away.

The scene changes back to Fairy Tail where Levy was able to break Fried's enchantment and release both Natsu and Gajeel. The enchantment showing the results of the Battle of Fairy Tail then updates once again as Levy reads it.
Levy : "Cana vs Fried: Cana wins".
On top of the guild was both Natsu and Gajeel who were now both free to leave the guild and search for Laxus.
Gajeel : *smiling* In the Battle of Fairy Tail...
Natsu : ...only Laxus is left now!
