As Elena made her way back home after a lengthy evening at her parent's place with the Carters, her thoughts kept circling back to Jack's words. They resonated with a truth she had been avoiding acknowledging, but deep down, she knew he was right. Tears streamed down her face as she focused on the road ahead, driving through the city's tunnels.
As she arrived at her house, a weight seemed to drag her down, like gravity had suddenly intensified. She hurriedly scanned her spacious, dimly lit apartment and couldn't help but feel a sense of melancholy and dullness that had never caught her attention before. Her tearful eyes roamed the rooms, taking in the unexpectedly lackluster decor that now seemed to stand out prominently. It was almost as if she had gained a new perspective, shifting her focus from her company and family's affairs to the neglected details of her living space.
"How could I possibly call this place home?"
Elena whispered to herself in disbelief, struggling to comprehend how no one had ever questioned her taste in decorating. With a tired sigh, she abandoned the living room and retreated to her bedroom. As she undressed for a soothing shower, she caught her reflection in the mirror and was taken aback by the sight. Her complexion appeared unnaturally pale, her cheeks lacking their usual rosy hue, and her body showing signs of softness from the prolonged period of inactivity during her recovery. A single tear trickled down her cheek as she gazed at her reflection with sorrowful eyes.
All at once, an echo resonated in her ears, and she began to hear her father's words from fifteen years earlier. Elena's expression slowly hardened as her father's words resurfaced in her mind.
"Being a strong woman is swallowing the pain and pretending it's a pleasure. If men are not allowed to cry, then women are even more restricted to display emotions in order to survive." Drawing strength from these ingrained beliefs, she resolved not to let another tear fall. With a determined demeanor, she stepped into the shower, hoping to wash away the tension that had built up within her.
Following a lengthy twenty-minute respite in the shower, Elena swiftly dressed in a tank top and shorts before settling into bed. With her eyes wide open, she contemplated the upcoming weeks leading to her engagement announcement. A tired sigh escaped her lips, reflecting the frustration building within her as she anticipated the demanding tasks awaiting her at work. Her thoughts then drifted to her phone, prompting her to reach out and retrieve it from the bedside table on her left.
"3988 messages!" Elena mumbled under her breath, astonished by the sheer number of unread messages awaiting her attention. And instead of reading the upcoming messages, she scrolled through her contacts list. His name jumped out at her.
"Kelan!" Elena muttered in a mix of surprise and anticipation, feeling a sudden twist in her stomach. Her thoughts drifted back to the last time she had seen him, her fingers subconsciously brushing her lips as she recalled the memory of their kiss that night.
"I wonder if you're up at this time!" "Elena murmured to herself before setting her phone down. Under the covers, her hand wandered slowly, tracing her stomach before moving lower. With a bite to her lip, she closed her eyes, savoring the sensation. Her hand slipped beneath her panties, caressing her curves and teasing her clit with a gentle touch. A soft gasp escaped her lips as she slowly slid two fingers inside, her gaze fixed on the ceiling as she sought to satisfy herself after a long time
"Hah....ah....mhhh" As she sought the perfect angle, Elena pumped her fingers slowly, her whimpers of pleasure muffled by her bitten lips. Adrenaline surged through her veins, her body heating with arousal and excitement. With a quickening pace, her fingers moved in and out, driving her pleasure higher. Suddenly, she turned on the bed, dropping to her knees to penetrate deeper, her hand delving into the depths of her desire.
"Mhh....huh...huh.....ah!" Lost in the moment, Elena moaned softly, envisioning herself on top of Kelan for the excitement. With closed eyes and eager movements, she pleasured herself with the singular goal of reaching climax. However, the sudden ringtone of her phone shattered the erotic trance. Hastily, she slumped back in bed, grabbing her phone and breaking the intense moment of her arousing masturbation.
"He...Hello?" She struggled to speak, her breaths labored. Martha's brow furrowed slightly as she listened to the raspy breaths coming through the phone.
"Elena? Are you alright? What's wrong with your voice?" Martha questioned with concern. Elena paused, took a deep breath, and then responded.
"Nothing! I...I was just doing some exercises in my room. I needed to clear my mind a bit," Elena replied as she closed her remorseful eyes. Martha's smile grew as she nodded in understanding.
"I'm relieved to hear that you're doing better! I was really concerned when you left without saying goodbye," Martha said softly. Elena smiled and settled back into bed against the headboard.
"Thank you for what you did for me today! I..I truly appreciate it!" Elena said, fighting back tears. Martha's smile remained, touched by her daughter's gratitude.
"You're my daughter, Elena! I will always stand by you and shield you because it's my duty as your mother," Martha said, causing a tear to trickle down Elena's cheek.
"Now, go to sleep! I'll see you tomorrow," Martha said quickly, trying to suppress her emotions. Elena chuckled softly and murmured her agreement.
"Good night!" Elena replied before ending the call, her eyes gleaming with tears. It felt as though she had a new mother after waking up from the coma. It was an odd yet comforting sensation. Suddenly, an urge to go outside surged within her, and without any delay, she decided to follow that impulse.
The distant barking of dogs pierced the quiet of the night. Kelan, lost in thought, made his way home after getting off the bus. He unlocked the door, stepped inside, and was greeted by Reeve's enthusiastic tail wagging.
"Reeve! I missed you, buddy! Let's go for a walk!" Kelan exclaimed to his dog, his voice brimming with enthusiasm as he affectionately stroked Reeve's head. Reeve leaped with excitement upon seeing Kelan grab his collar and leash, barking joyfully and unable to contain his energy. After fastening Reeve's leash, they hurried out of the house for a breath of fresh air. This routine walk was always a therapeutic escape for Kelan, allowing him to wander aimlessly until Reeve was ready to call it quits.
After walking for quite some time, he tilted his head back and gazed up at the vast expanse of stars that seemed to go on forever. A heavy sigh escaped his lips as thoughts of his family flooded his mind.
"These are the moments I wish I could relive! I miss you all so much," he thought to himself. After a moment of reflection, Reeve stopped walking and sat down on the pavement. Kelan glanced down at Reeve, who appeared tired from the night's walk. A smile suddenly spread across Kelan's face at the sight.
"Alright, let's head home," he muttered, turning around and leading Reeve back. They made their way back quickly, and once home, he went straight to the kitchen for a quick dinner.
"Here you go!" he cooed at Reeve, placing his food bowl on the floor. Reeve responded with a short bark, gracefully diving into his meal. Suddenly, a noise caught Kelan off guard, and his gaze landed on his phone on the kitchen counter. With a tired sigh, he grabbed it in annoyance.
"Speak," he uttered, unamused by the person on the other end of the line.
"Oh... I'm sorry... if I woke you up! I'm really sorry!" Kelan's heart skipped a beat as he recognized the soft and gentle voice on the other end of the line.
"No, wait! Elena? Please don't hang up!"
"I... I'm sorry... I just thought you were a scammer since your phone number isn't registered on my phone!" he hurriedly tried to explain himself after his initial rude reply. Elena chuckled at his response and smiled warmly.
"It's fine... I'm not offended by it. If anything, it should be the other way around! You should be the one offended by my late call!" Elena replied, but Kelan couldn't help but smile widely at her words.
"I shouldn't be, since I was the one who told you that you could call me anytime!" he said, eliciting another laugh from her.
"True... and I hope you don't mind me asking if I can come in?" she uttered back. Kelan held his breath for a moment, processing her words. He quickly made his way to the door, and as he opened it, he was captivated by her presence.
