Raf walked up to Mazikeen as she watched Ratchet work,
"Woah, is that Synthetic Energon?"
Ratchet smiled,
"Yes, I believe I perfected the formula,"
Mazikeen crossed her arms,
"I can't believe you wouldn't let me help you,"
"Maze, I understand that you worked with me in your universe, but I do prefer doing this medicine by myself, regardless of knowing you for a week,"
Mazikeen sighed and looked at Raf,
"You hear this Raf? He's being grouchy again,"
Raf laughed and looked at Ratchet,
"Can we watch?"
Ratchet sighed and nodded,
"Alright, seeing as you have protective goggles and Mazikeen has Phoenix, I suppose no harm will be done,"
The two eagerly watched as Ratchet tested it on an engine Mazikeen created. Mazikeen smirked as it started working,
"It works!"
Ratchet sighed and nodded,
"Yes, it does. Before we use it for us, it needs more testing...which is unfortunate given how our energon sources are really low,"
Mazikeen sighed,
"Why don't you let me help?"
"You know that we wish to not alert the Decepticons of your presence. Wheeljack is helping us by looking further away than we usually do,"
Mazikeen sighed,
"Fine, fine, come on Raf, let's go do something,"
Raf glanced over at Ratchet but quickly followed Mazikeen as they left. But they weren't gone long because they heard a large crash. Mazikeen immediately flew up after Phoenix encased her and frowned when she saw Ratchet on the floor. She helped Raf climb onto him while watching Raf run over his chassis,
"Ratchet! Ratchet! Are you alright?!"
Ratchet groaned and opened his optics,
"How is it that something so tiny can make so much noise?"
Mazikeen narrowed her eyes as she noticed his optics were green. Raf frowned,
"Are you sure you are okay? You fainted,"
Ratchet nodded,
"I am fine,"
There was a call from Optimus on the Comms.
"Ratchet, lock onto Arcee's coordinates and prepare for an emergency Groundbridge,"
Mazikeen immediately flew up and was blocked by Ratchet,
"Raf, Maze, man, the ground bridge. Arcee is hurt,"
Mazikeen growled,
"I can help!"
"Stay!"
Mazikeen glared as she watched him leave. Raf put a hand on her shoulder,
"Maze, it's okay,"
Mazikeen sighed and let Phoenix go back into her device,
"Raf, something is wrong with Ratchet, you saw his optics,"
Raf sighed,
"I know...and I am also worried about him,"
Mazikeen sighed and ruffled his hair,
"Not to worry, kid, Ratch is tough,"
Mazikeen opened the ground bridge back up when they got the call from Optimus. Mazikeen observed as Arcee and Bulkhead cheered for Ratchet's newfound strength. But she immediately frowned when Ratchet told them that he used Synthetic Energon on himself.
"Ratchet, I question your wisdom of using yourself as a test subject,"
Arcee patted his chassis,
"Optimus, you didn't see him out there. He was in overdrive!"
Bulkhead nodded,
"Yeah, we should get him out more so we can have a vacation,"
Mazikeen crossed her arms,
"If you let me out, I can help you guys, and you can take a vacation,"
They all sighed, and Optimus looked at her,
"Mazikeen, you know the reason we don't want you out of base unless it is with Wheeljack and only for human needs,"
Mazikeen grumbled and crossed her arms. Ratchet sighed as Optimus walked closer to him,
"Outnumbered though we may be, old friend, we need a warrior in the laboratory right now more than we need another in the field."
Ratchet looked away as Optimus left him alone. Mazikeen watched Ratchet closely for a moment but walked away with Raf. She helped him down to be taken home by Bumblebee,
"I'll update you next time I see you, Raf,"
Raf nodded,
"Alright, be careful,"
Mazikeen winked at him,
"Always,"
Bumblebee honked his horn as a farewell and zoomed out of the base. Mazikeen sighed, went back up to her station, and continued working on a small project she started. She looked as another alert came up for more Energon on the move. She ignored what was being said until she heard that Bumblebee was staying and Ratchet was going. Mazikeen frowned,
"What the frag?"
She looked at Bumblebee, and he shrugged,
"Something is wrong with Ratchet,"
Mazikeen nodded,
"I know, Bee...I know. Just let me go, please,"
Bumblebee shook his head,
"I'm sorry, Maze, you must stay here,"
Mazikeen sighed and put Phoenix back on,
"Fine, but I'm flying around inside then,"
Bumblebee nodded, and Mazikeen flew around the base until she felt a pull on her heart. She immediately sped back and saw Ratchet coming in and going back through the ground bridge. She took that chance and flew as fast as she could through,
"MAZIKEEN!"
Mazikeen ignored Bumblebee and appeared through the portal to see sand and dirt. Optimus frowned,
"Mazikeen-"
She ignored Optimus and quickly sped after Ratchet,
"Phoenix, keep track of Ratch, I'm going to try contacting Miko, Raf, or Jake,"
"Why?"
"Cuz I know you can't contact the Autobots. That shit is too hard to figure out right now. Then they can call Optimus or someone. I'm following Ratch so we can track him,"
"You always do have a plan,"
Mazikeen smirked,
"Oh, how you flatter me, Phoenix,"
"Shut up and keep trying."
Mazikeen chuckled but was finally able to get in touch with someone, which so happened to be Raf,
"Raf!"
"Maze? How did you get my number?"
"Eh, don't worry about that. I need you to get in touch with Bee. I'm following Ratchet right now. He went rogue, I think cuz of the Synthetic Energon."
"Scrap!"
"Hey! Watch that language, mister,"
"Sorry,"
"Just get us through. I need them to track me to track Ratchet, I'm following him,"
"Alright, I'm on it,"
"Good, I'm going dark again, but you can trace this call,"
"Okay,"
Mazikeen kept following Ratchet and frowned when she spotted the large mine. She sighed,
"Oh my sky, Ratchet, you owe me big time for this,"
"Maze, I don't know about this,"
"Oh, hush, this has to work,"
Mazikeen quietly flew in and stuck to the wall. She watched Ratchet take on Decepticons and winced every time one hit the floor. She followed behind him at a safe distance. Then she saw him grab a Decepticon by the back and lead him through the mines. Mazikeen gasped when she saw Megatron talking angrily to another Decepticon,
"Oh, scrap,"
"Really? You say that now?!"
"Quiet, we need the Autobots now! Get Raf on it,"
"Okayyy,"
Mazikeen silently watched and almost flew out of her cover when she saw Megatron punch Ratchet, leaving him oozing the Synthetic Energon,
"Find out. If a chemical can do this for Optimus Prime's lap dog, imagine what it could do for our troops,"
Mazikeen growled as she watched Megatron leave. She watched as the Decepticon walked over to Ratchet,
"Oh, Optimus, I was a fool,"
Mazikeen winced. When she saw the Decepticon taking Energon from Ratchet, she immediately flew out and into his view,
"Hey! Leave Ratchet alone!"
She immediately started shooting at the Decepticon,
"What are you? A new specimen? I would love to experiment on you."
Mazikeen growled,
"You can't fucking catch me!"
There was a loud noise and the Decepticon got distracted long enough for Ratchet to kick him away from him and Mazikeen. Ratchet picked up the Synthetic Energon, and the Decepticon laughed at him,
"What are you going to do? Drink it?"
Ratchet growled,
"No! I'm going to destroy it!"
He smashed it, and the Decepticon gasped,
"Ugh! You idiot! Megatron will have my head!"
Ratchet fainted again, and Mazikeen immediately flew over his body and started blasting at the Decepticon again until he transformed and drove off,
"I will see you again!"
Mazikeen winced at his words but landed on Ratchet's chassis as Optimus, Bulkhead, and Arcee came over and knelt next to him,
"Optimus-"
"Mazikeen, we will discuss this later. For now, let's get him back to base and healed,"
Mazikeen nodded, and Bumblebee opened a ground bridge so they could return to base. Mazikeen sat on a ledge, watching over Ratchet as he rested. Optimus walked over to him as he slowly woke up,
"Careful, Ratchet. You lost a lot of Energon, both good and bad."
Ratchet winced,
"I-I didn't intend to hurt anyone. I just...wanted to-"
"Help us, we know...but you nearly caused us the loss of something irreplaceable, our medic and a most trusted friend. If not for Mazikeen's reckless actions, we might never have found you,"
The two looked over to Mazikeen, and she smiled nervously at the two,
"Yeah, I won't be apologizing,"
Ratchet chuckled and looked at Optimus,
"The Synthetic Energon formula does need refining before it is tested again,"
Optimus gave him a look, and Ratchet nodded,
"On machines, not Autobots."
Optimus nodded,
"Let us take comfort in the fact that you were able to dispose of the quantity that remained."
Mazikeen smiled softly at the two and almost left, but Optimus called her name. Mazikeen flew down to his head, and Optimus sighed,
"You put yourself in danger, Mazikeen...Ratchet said that Knockout now knows you exist, just not that you are human. You have to be more careful,"
Mazikeen sighed and nodded,
"Yeah, I will. Don't worry so much, boss. I can take care of myself,"
"I know you can, but I still will worry,"
Mazikeen smiled at him,
"I know,"
