"You ready to go?" Y/n asked, slipping her shoes on.

Saturday had rolled around sooner than anticipated, bringing on yet another dreaded training session. Y/n could feel her stomach turn just at the thought of having to deal with Scott for the day but at least she had her girlfriend with her. Otherwise, she would've used her training against the wrong person.

"All set," Ramona sauntered over, "Are you sure you're ready to go?"

With a sigh, y/n grabbed her keys and opened the door, "Let's hope so."

Finally having made it through the quiet streets, the couple found themselves in front of Pilgrim's abode. The snow crunched beneath their feet as they ambled up the path; the door in front of them promising warmth from the bitter cold they were in. With a few knocks, it gently swayed open.

There stood Scott, in his usual dippy state. His calm demeanour suddenly stiffened as his eyes landed on Ramona. The unannounced arrival made him question how presentable he looked. Quickly running his hand through his hair, he fixed his posture.

"Oh, hey. You didn't tell me you were bringing Ramona?" Scott chuckled nervously.

Y/n shrugged, fixing a stern gaze on him, "Sorry, it slipped my mind."

Her taunting tone had him holding back a plethora of glares and insults, but he couldn't risk Ramona noticing. Not if he wanted a chance at getting on her good side. He offered the pair a welcoming smile, stepping to the side to allow them to enter. That smile slowly faded as he noticed their hands intertwined, swaying merrily as they walked into his home.

As usual, Wallace was sitting on his armchair watching something on tv. The familiar explosions and obnoxiously fake voice indicated that he was watching yet another Lucas Lee movie.

"Hey Wallace," y/n greeted him warmly.

He turned to her, returning the welcoming attitude. He then noticed the pink haired girl next to her and smirked slightly. Although, there also seemed to be something sympathetic in his gaze. Almost as if he knew something was going to happen.

"Hey. I see you brought your girlfriend," Wallace teased.

Scott's jaw tensed at the word. He hated how serious it sounded. It only reminded him of the obstacles he had to face in order to get the girl of his dreams. On the other hand, y/n nodded confidently at the statement, feeling a sense of pride knowing Ramona was hers.

Wallace looked over to Scott, having to check on him as if he were a bratty toddler. He could sense the anger emanating from him, watching as the cogs turned in his mind to create a plan on how to impress the girl he had been talking about non-stop. Just what he expected of him.

"Nice to see you again," Ramona began.

"Yeah you too," Wallace replied.

As y/n fell into a conversation with Scott about training, Wallace got up from his seat. He brushed past Ramona on the way to the kitchen but not without muttering a warning.

"If you break her heart, I'll break you."

He smiled innocently, moving on as if nothing had happened. Ramona furrowed her brows slightly. The way he had just spoke to her irritated her, however his protectiveness over y/n was commendable. It definitely wasn't an empty threat either. The last person that crossed him had to leave town after him and Stacey spread a rumour that got him fired and almost disowned.

"So uh, ready to show your girlfriend everything you've learnt?" Scott asked, trying to mask his mocking tone.

He slung his arm around Ramona, instantly making y/n grit her teeth as she felt an unease settle within her. She knew what game he was playing. She wasn't going to let him win. Just as she was about to part the two, her girlfriend pushed Scott's arm away which helped ease her insecurity.

"Yeah," she replied bluntly. Ready to beat your ass is more like it.

After getting everything set up, they swiftly dived in to some exercises. Ramona watched from the wall as they went over a few techniques they had been practising before. Y/n's form had improved immensely, even if they were still on some of the easier skills. This influenced Scott's decision to move on to something more difficult.

As time went on, y/n's throws got softer and sloppier. She could feel her fatigue catching up to her as beads of sweat fell down her face. Ramona couldn't help but stare at her in this state, imagining a much different scenario. The way her chest rose and fell with each shallow breath only strengthened her fantasies as she smirked silently to herself at the other end of the room.

"Let's take five," Scott sighed, noticing y/n was just as tired as he was.

She propped herself against the counter while Scott went to get some water. Things had been going smoothly except for a few initial hiccups. Maybe today wouldn't be as bad as she thought.

As she noticed Ramona approaching her, her face lit up with a gentle smile. She watched as she positioned herself next to her by the counter.

"You look like you've learnt a lot. Impressive," Ramona commented.

Y/n smiled, glancing at the clock, "Thank you. I wasn't able to last this long before."

"Hm. That'll come in handy," she replied suggestively.

Y/n arched her brow, a playful smirk gracing her lips. Before she could delve deeper into their flirtatious banter, Scott came back over and handed her a glass. She quickly softened her gaze to hide their prior conversation and thanked him for the drink.

She guzzled the cool liquid down, soothing the uncomfortable dryness in her throat. With a sigh she placed the empty glass on the counter.

"So uh, Ramona, how long have you and y/n been together now?" Scott asked cautiously, shuffling closer to her.

Ramona didn't seem to notice the little action but it didn't slip past y/n. She shot him a warning look in which he ignored.

"About two weeks."

"So not very long?" He moved even closer, almost brushing against her arm.

She chuckled, "Well, it's long for me."

Y/n suddenly pushed between them, moving Ramona away from Scott and taking her place. She forced a faux laugh as she wrapped her arm around her girlfriend. A possessive gesture she made sure was obvious to Scott.

"Anyway Scott, what other exercises are we doing today?" Y/n diverted the subject.

She bit back a smug smile as she noticed the way his jaw clenched. It was like Ramona was just out of his reach, slipping through his fingers every time he got close. It was just one hurdle. One obstacle that he had to overcome, but y/n was an adamant one.

"I have a few in mind. It'll be easer if I just show you so I need someone to do it on." he glanced at Ramona.

Noticing his line of sight, y/n quickly interjected, "Great, you can do it on me."

"Well then how will you see what I'm doing?"

"It'll be fine. You know I learn fast."

Ramona stood there, silently watching as the tension in the room grew thicker. She was unsure if she should step in as she didn't want to blow things out of proportion. However, it was obvious y/n was close to her breaking point.

Eventually, Scott agreed after y/n's insistence of practising on her. They took to the floor again to continue training. This time, Scott got a crash mat out (one of Wallace's old mattresses) and moved it to the middle of the floor.

He instructed y/n to stand on the mat, running through the different steps of the move he was about to do. Then, in one swift motion, he grabbed her by the arm and flipped her over his back. She landed on the ground with a jolt, the support only shielding her from the hard floor so much. She could feel her skin throbbing from the impact.

As she got back to her feet, Scott got into the same position she was in before. He explained the steps once again and then waited for her to strike. In a much slower movement, y/n did her best to copy the attack as she pulled him to the floor.

She repeated the technique, Scott giving her pointers to improve every time as she built her confidence. The power in her actions strengthened which was obvious in the way Scott's grunts got louder every time he hit the mat.

Scott got up once more, peeling his shirt off and tossing it to the side. Both y/n and Ramona paused, sharing an awkward glance at the sight in front of them. His bare chest only reinforced y/n's attraction to women.

He noticed their judging eyes, "What?"

"You took your shirt off," y/n answered bluntly.

Scott glanced between them, acting clueless as if he didn't have his plan laid out in his mind. He rested his hands behind his head while subtly flexing his arms.

"Yeah, I was just feeling a little warm."

Y/n paused in disbelief, "It's negative twelve degrees outside?"

Not only that but they were doing much more vigorous training beforehand. He wasn't fooling anyone.

"I guess it's just hot in here," he persisted.

The lack of heating in the house said otherwise. Y/n shut her eyes in frustration as everyone fell still. Of course he'd do something like this. The quiet was almost deafening, yet was the most peace she had felt since she got there.

"Dude, just put your shirt back on. No one wants to see that," Wallace finally broke the silence, subtly trying to get Scott to stop his stupid attempts at impressing Ramona.

Y/n felt a sense of ease as Wallace spoke up, flushing out the anger that was very close to bubbling over. Just another hour. She consoled herself.

She took a deep breath, regaining her composure before opening her eyes again. She almost thought she was seeing things when she noticed Ramona staring at his body. However, when she turned to look at her once more she was already looking away. Was she really just seeing things?

Scott huffed at everyone's detest but refused to grab his shirt, "I don't see the problem. I'm just hot."

He smirked at the double meaning of his words, ambling over to Ramona.

He placed a friendly elbow on her shoulder as he pulled together an innocent tone, "Don't you agree Ramona?"

That's it. Y/n balled her fists, storming over to Scott and tearing him away.

"Enough Scott!" she raised her voice, "You need to stop shoving yourself in Ramona's face as if you have a chance. She has me and you need to get over that. Even if she wasn't dating me, she wouldn't want to date a greasy kiddy fiddler like you who doesn't even make minimum wage. Maybe you should get a job instead of sitting around, preying on girls."

Scott put his arms up in surrender, surprised by the sudden outburst, while Ramona and Wallace felt a sense of satisfaction at someone finally putting him in his place.

He continued his attempt of innocence, "What are you talking about? I'm not-"

"Bullshit! The only thing you've done since we got here is flirt with and make Ramona uncomfortable. I'm tired of having to put up with your petty attempts at trying to steal my girlfriend."

The room fell silent. For once Scott felt a hint of fear from y/n, the blaze in her eyes threatening to swallow him whole. It was taking everything in her not to beat him to a pulp.

Wallace slowly got up from his seat, pulling his phone out to text someone, "Uh... I'll leave you guys to it. I'll be trying to find Lucas Lee set if you need me."

"Wait," y/n spoke sharply, "I'm coming with you."

Ramona instantly furrowed her brows, looking at her in shock, "What? Y/n are you sure you're ready?"

"I am."

She gradually turned to Scott, her glare burning into him. She was going to prove it. Prove that she deserved Ramona more than him. Prove that he's nothing compared to her. Prove that Ramona was hers and that there's nothing he could do to change that.

"There's no rush y/n," Ramona continued.

Memories of y/n's state from the first fight haunted her. She didn't want her to go through that again. She wanted to make sure she was ready so that whatever happened, it wouldn't mess with their relationship again. There was only so much she could handle before running away became the easiest option.

"Ramona. I'm doing it today. There's no arguing with that," y/n answered definitively.

As she turned to face her, her gaze softened. She could see the worry on Ramona's face that she was trying desperately to hide. Her nonchalant and aloof facade was slipping. Y/n took her hand, interlacing their fingers and giving it a gentle squeeze.

"I'll be fine," she murmured softly.

Her eyes lingered on her before she finally turned to Wallace. She took a deep breath, summoning all her courage for the challenge ahead.

"Let's go."
