"Ah finally you're back." you sighed of relief as your best friend, Seungmin, walked through the door.
"Man, that sesh turned my brain into a smoothie." he said, looking like he saw a ghost, and you silently laughed at him.
"Well atleast your back now. And you don't have one for another five days." you told him.
"Exactly." he said and plopped himself next to you, putting his arm around you after he put all his stuff down.
"Did you see the groupchat?" you asked him, switching topics.
"No, why?"
"Hyunjin's having a party at his place Saturday night for his birthday." you informed him.
"Do you wanna go?"
"I mean sure, I'm down. But I'm not going if you're not." you said.
"Aigooo" he pinched your cheeks and you slapped his hands away. He just giggled at you and your pouty face.
"Hahah, okay in all seriousness, I'm down aswell." he said.
"Aight cool. Ya hungry?"
"Oh yeah."
"Let's order KFC." you said.
"Woooo!!!" Seungmin got excited over the mention of KFC so he turned on some music on the TV while you ordered and then you just had some fun.
Saturday~~
It was 7pm and the party's to start at 8pm, so you and Seungmin began getting ready.
"Okay, Seungmin, which ones better?" you went over to his room and showed him two different outfits, one was an off the shoulder crop top and a skirt, the other was jean shorts and a crop top.
Without even looking over he blandly replied with "whichever one's less revealing." and you just scoffed and said "c'mon atleast look at them." in a whiny tone. So he did as you said and then after a bit of inspection at both outfits told you "I like the skirt and crop top better."
"Thank you." you said and then walked back to your room.
"Woah woah woah, not so fast. You gotta help me pick too." Seungmin stopped you in your tracks and made you reverse back to his room.
On his bed he had three outfits laid out. One was a leather jacket with a white sleeveless top and ripped jeans, the other was a button-up beige shirt with black jeans, and the last one was a flannel sorta thing with another pair of ripped jeans.
You picked the second one and then off you went to change in your room.
You both changed and coincidentally walked out of your rooms at the same time.
"Wow, your outfits gonna be perfect for the party." you said to Seungmin.
"So will yours." he replied.
"Okay, what hair do you think will go with this outfit." you asked him.
You loved the fact you could ask Seungmin questions you would only ask other girls. You were so used to that before knowing Seungmin, but now he's even better than girls at it, honestly.
"Hmmmm... either curls or Dutch plaits. Yeah, curls. I'll plug in the curling iron for you." he said promptly.
See, isn't this great?
He then flawlessly curled your hair for you just like you'd taught him and then you styled his hair a bit with some hairspray and picked out certain bits of it to make it match the outfit and the vibe. Then it was time to do some light makeup, then, you both picked out shoes to match the outfits and finally left the apartment.
You took the bus to Hyunjin's place which took about fifteen minutes, stopping at the department store to each buy him a present which added on about another fifteen minutes, and you were there by 8:25.
"Hey guys!" Hyunjin said as you two entered his grand home. He had a kinda messily done ponytail, a pair of white jeans and a black and white button-up shirt with a few of the top buttons undone (similar to Seungmin).
"Hey Hyunjin!" he hugged you and then bro-hugged Seungmin.
"Happy birthday!" you both said to him while handing him his presents.
"No way, thanks guys! I'm looking forward to seeing what these are." he said with a smile.
"Please, make yourselves at home, help yourselves to anything. And incase you're wondering, party officially ends at midnight, but if you leave earlier of later it's not a problem. Anyways, have fun!" he said to you guys and went off with his presents from you both.
Hyunjin was always so wholesome, but everyone knew his parties were the maddest, especially in his massive house and, I mean c'mon, he's Hyunjin, he's the king of parties.
So you and Seungmin stayed together for the first half an hour or so before both of you went to talk to your other friends, but still remained close to one another. You both were holding a cup of gin tonic by this point. Fast forward an hour, and you had had quite a bit to drink but you were still fine. And half an hour after that you were, well - literally fucking tanked.
O.de's POV
"Oh yeah, how's y/n, Seungmin-ah?" Junhan teased, since all of my best friends knew I had the fattest crush on my best friend.
"Shut up." I looked away while letting out a slight breathy laugh.
"Speaking of which, I should probably check up on her." it suddenly popped into my head.
It's been like an hour and a half and she's nowhere to be seen. This can't be good.
"Aaawww, looking out for his y/n-ieeee" Gunil hyung teased as the others joined in with him.
"Oh shut up guys." I said to them.
"Sorry dude, you know it's just jokes, we love you really." Gaon grabbed my shoulder while sorta laughing.
"I know, I know." I said "alright, imma go look for y/n now, see ya guys later." I said to the three of them and sped off to go find y/n.
'I just hope she's safe, I just hope she's sober, I just hope she's okay' that's all that went through my head as I searched for her.
I asked round countless people if they've seen her but every single one of them said no. Then Hyunjin saw me looking around worriedly so he asked me what's up so I told him I was looking for y/n and he told me he last saw her by the jacuzzi with Jooyeon.
So I shoved my way outside and my eyes scanned the place. Then, I saw y/n exactly where Hyunjin told me he saw her, so I started walking towards her.
That's when I realised she wasn't alone. She was with someone. A guy. And they were... making out.
My blood boiled and my eyes burned as I stomped over to them and cracked my knuckles in the process. As I got closer I could tell y/n was completely hammered.
Goddamn her low alcohol tolerance.
If this motherfucker thinks he can take advantage of my best friend just because she's drunk, then he's a lunatic.
As soon as I made it, I didn't care who the fuck it was, I punched him so hard he threw his head right back and revealed a bloody nose.
"What the fuck, man?" the mysterious guy who I now saw was the one and only Lee Jooyeon, said to me. Eh, I was never really fond of this kid anyway.
All the people around us gradually went silent and I looked around to see if any of y/n's friends were there. Thankfully I spotted Yuna and and she got the message and took y/n out of there, 'cause things were about to get messy.
I then shoved Jooyeon and furiously asked him "taking advantage of a drunk girl? Not on my watch. Especially when it's my best friend we're talking about."
"Look man-" I then punched him once again then eventually pinned him to the floor.
"You better not have done anything to her!" I yelled at him.
"I- I swear I didn't-" and I threw another punch.
Before I could go any further, someone wrapped their arms around me to hold me back. We were stood up and then Jooyeon stood up aswell and looked at me with hatred, but also a clear hint of fear in his eyes.
"Seungmin, stop! y/n wouldn't want this! More importantly you need to take care of her when you're home!" Gaon told me as he struggled to hold me back as I fought in his grip. But that eventually died down as I heard his words. He was right. y/n wouldn't want this.
"You're damn lucky I'm a caring guy. Don't let me catch you taking advantage of girls ever again." I said to Jooyeon through gritted teeth and then finally got out of Gaon's grip quite harshly and stormed inside to go see where Yuna had taken y/n. I knew my friends were following me but that didn't really bother me. I was just fuming. I just wanted to go find y/n and take her the fuck home.
A girl who I passed by told me Yuna took y/n to the downstairs bathroom so that's exactly where I went. I knocked on the door "it's me, Seungmin" I yelled through the locked door.
I heard the lock open and the door handle go down, and first thing I saw was I saw Yuna. I then got in and locked the door again behind me.
y/n was... done for. Gone.
"S- Seungmin~" y/n mumbled, stumbling around. She then almost fell but we caught her.
"I wet her face and neck to cool her down a bit."
"Alright. Would you mind geting some water please?" I asked Yuna, and she was right on it.
"Seungmin-ah~, you're so haandsome... I- I love.. you" she breathed out, her voice gradually going quieter.
I looked at her perplexed, then saw Yuna still standing there. She looked at me then at y/n, then back at me.
"S- sorry, I'll go now." she said, shutting the door behind her.
She's drunk, surely she doesn't mean it. As much as I wish she does...
"y/n, can you hear me?" I grabbed her shoulders.
"Mhm~" she managed to hum out with her eyes half open.
"How much did you have to drink?"
"On.. ly a little" she mumbled, hiccuping midway through.
"Okay, did you have four shots? Five shots? Six? Seven? Eight?" she nodded ever so slightly. "EIGHT SHOTS? y/n, why? Who the shit let you have eight shots?!"
"And I had a couple cocktails" she added on.
"And..."
"Some beer" she muttered.
"And gin tonic! Fucking hell y/n, you can't be doing that! I was worried sick! Never again am I letting you out of my sight at a party, you can't let go of yourself so much and drink your ass off! Who knows what could happen to you?!" I told her as if she would possibly remember anything, shaking her by her shoulders. That's when I realised just how hot her shoulders were, so I wet my hands and gently put my hands back on her shoulders to cool them down.
Then, Yuna finally arrived with a cup of ice water and y/n's phone.
"Sorry I took so long there were so many people in the kitchen AND in the bar. Lia also gave me y/n's phone." Yuna said.
"Thanks so much" I took both and then hydrated her with some water by gently pushing her chin up.
Once I put the cup down she began to look even worse than she already did.
"y/n..." Yuna said.
"She's gonna be sick" Yuna warned.
I immediately turned her to face the toilet and held her hair back right as she began to throw up. After she threw up she sat against the wall on the floor.
"Wat..er" she muttered, so Yuna handed me the cup of water and y/n chugged it in a split second.
"Someone was thirsty" Yuna said, making me agree. "should I get some more?"
"y/n? Do you want more water?" I asked her, and she nodded.
So for the next twenty minutes it was me and Yuna in the bathroom tryna make y/n come to life atleast a little bit all while Yuna had to keep telling people it was occupied when they knocked, y/n was doing.. questionable things, and just everything.
"She's had like six cups of water now surely she'll bit a little bit more sober sooner or later." Yuna said, panting as if she had to chase after a naughty child (aka y/n).
3rd Person POV
You and Seungmin left the party shortly after. Thankfully, Changbin could give you guys a ride since he was heading home too. Seungmin couldn't thank him enough. He then took you home and put you straight to bed and you hit the hay in a heartbeat.
You woke up the next morning to a pounding migraine. Soon as you woke up you groaned so loud from the pain, Seungmin was already walking over with paracetamol, water, and an ice pack.
"What time is it?" you questioned, taking the stuff from him.
"1pm."
You nearly choked on your water. "SORRY?!?!"
"Mhm. You're surprised? You can't tell me you remember anything from last night." he said, leaning against your door frame.
"Actually no. Not a fucking thing. Damn I had a shitton to drink didn't I?" that's when she realised.
"Oh, yeah. You told me you had eight shots, a couple cocktails and some beer. And you had gin tonic. You were completely fucking canned." Seungmin told you.
"Oh my God, please tell me I didn't do anything crazy."
"Surprisingly no."
"Oh thank God." you sighed a sigh of relief.
"But... I only found out you were drunk 'cause I went looking for you, I was worried, and then I found you, making out with Jooyeon." Seungmin explain, almost in a question manner.
"What? Lee Jooyeon? The uni band's bassist?" you asked in utter and pure disbelief.
"Yup." he nodded.
"Oh my God" you threw yourself back onto the bed.
"Wait.. there's more to isn't there? You're not telling me the whole story." you knew him too well.
"Fine, no, I'm not."
"So tell me."
So he told you about how he punched Jooyeon, tackled him to the floor, how he got stopped and then went to find where you and Yuna went.
"Seungmin!"
"Can you blame me? He was taking advantage of a drunk woman! Not to mention that woman happened to be my best friend?! So what do you expect me to do, stand there? He didn't look like he had a drop of alcohol so he knew exactly what he was doing to you. You're lucky I managed to scare him off!" Seungmin said not so calmly to you.
"Okay, please don't yell, my migraine's bad enough as it is." you said while you pressed the ice pack against your forehead.
"Sorry. Sorry, I- I just..."
He sighed and went to sit next to you on the bed.
"Just what?" you questioned.
"I love you, and I don't like seeing the people I love getting in such situations like you did with that dickhead. You know what, I was being overprotective, alright? Because I have feelings for you and I have ever since our first year as classmates in high school." he admitted, leaving you stunned.
"Wha- what? Why did you never tell me?"
"I didn't want to put our friendship at risk. You're more important to me than anything and I wasn't about to go risk you for a dumb confession that might risk me losing you for good. But I can't contain it anymore so I guess it's time to find out. Look, if I do lose you I just want you to know I-"
You shut his rambling up by smashing your lips against his in a deep kiss. He then went in for another, and another. You then pulled away and pursed your lips.
Judging by his facial expressions, you could tell he was about to burst with happiness.
"So does this mean..."
To answer his questions you once again, smashed your lips into his. This time he wrapped his arms around your waist and you around his neck and you made out for a few seconds.
"I love you." he said with the widest smile on his face, one you haven't seen since you took him to a place he'd been wanting to go to for God knows how long which was months ago.
"I love you too." you said back, a very similar smile across your face.
Well, the unexpected became very far beyond expected, I guess.
