Deans POV
We park by some trains tracks later that day, Sam is looking through the Key of Solomon book on the roof of the car, spinning a marker in his hand. Ana and I are at the back of the car, I'm loading up guns and packing them into my duffel bag whilst Ana leans against the car, looking at me.
"You've been quiet." She says to me. "Just getting ready." I reply flatly. She sighs and grabs my arm, making me look at her. She takes the gun I'm holding and puts it down, pulling me in front of her, wrapping her arms around my neck. "We're gonna find him and then I'm gonna kick his ass for going alone." She says and I fight not to smile as I wrap my hands around her waist.
"I know you want to smile." She tells me, a little smirk on her lips. I can't fight it anymore as I look at her so I smile. "Listen, he's got all three of us looking for him. We're gonna find him and get him back with us, okay?" She says and I nod. "Thank you." I whisper.
"For what?" She asks. "For reassuring me. For being here. Just....you." I tell her and she smiles, leaning forward and pressing her lips to mine. I kiss her back, pressing her more into the car. Her hands tighten in my hair as mine tighten around her waist just as Sam pops up next to us.
He opens the trunk lid and rubs of the dirt and starts to draw on the lid inside. "Dude, what are you drawing on my car?!" I exclaim as I furrow my eyebrows. "It's called a devils trap. Demons can't get through it or inside it." Sam replies.
"So?" I ask annoyed as Sam moves to the other end of the truck. "It basically turns the trunk into a lockbox." Sam says. "So?" I say again. "So, we have a place to hide the colt while we go get dad." Sam says and Ana gives him an impressed look. "Smart, Sammy." She says and he smiles at her.
"What are you talking about? We're bringing the colt with us." I say. "We can't, Dean. We've only got three bullets left." Sam tells me. "He's right Dean. We can't just use them on any demon, we've got to use them on the demon." Ana says. "No, we have to save dad, okay? We're gonna need all the help we can get." I tell them firmly.
"Dean, you know how pissed dad would be if we used all the bullets? Dean, he wouldn't want us to bring the gun." Sam tells me. "I don't care Sam. I don't care what dad wants, okay? And since when do you care what dad wants?" I ask him angrily.
"We want to kill this demon. You used to want that, too. Hell, I mean, you're the one who came and got me at school!" Sam yells and I scoff. "Well, you and dad are a lot more alike than I thought, you know that? You both can't wait to sacrifice yourself for this thing. But you know what? We're gonna be the ones the bury you. You're selfish, you know that? You don't care about anything but revenge." I growl. "That's not true Dean." Sam tells me and I scoff again.
"Dean, they're expecting us to bring this gun, you know that right? They get the gun, they will kill all of us. That gun is our only leverage and you know it. We can't bring that gun." Ana tells me firmly and I stare at her for a minute as she stares back, not backing down. "Fine." I say flatly.
"I'm serious Dean Winchester." She says. "I already said fine." I say like a child as I take the colt out of my jacket pocket and hold it up to show them before putting it in the trunk.

We were walking by the river and step up beside some trees when I stop. "Hey, hey." I say as Ana and Sam stop beside me. "Think I know what Meg meant by Sunrise." I say as Sam and Ana look at an apartment building with a sign out front that says 'Sunrise Apartments.'
"Son of a bitch. That's pretty smart. I mean, if these demons can posses people they can possess almost anybody inside." I mutter. "Yeah, and make anybody attack us." Sam says. "And so we can't kill them- a building full of human shields." Ana says annoyed.
"They probably know exactly what we look like, too. And they could look like anybody." Sam says. "Yeah, this sucks out loud." I grumble. "Tell me about it." Sam says as we look at the building. "Alright, so any ideas on how the hell we get in?" Ana asks.
I look over the building for a minute before turning to Ana and Sam. "Pull the fire alarm, get out all the civilians." I say. "Okay, but then the city responds in, what, seven minutes?" Ana asks. "Exactly seven minutes." I nod.
******
Ana went and pulled the fire alarm before she wakes back to Sam as I walk up to a fireman after they showed up a minute ago. "Hey, what's happening? Is it a fire?" I ask. "We're figuring that out right now, sir. Just stay back." The fireman says. "Well I've got a Yorkie upstairs and he pees when he's nervous..." I say but the fireman ignores me.
******
Ana, Sam and I walk down the hallway, inside the building, me and Sam dressed in full fireman gear as Ana walks behind us. I use my EMF to check the doors of the apartments.
"I always wanted to be a fireman when I grew up." I tell them. "You never told me that." Ana says. "Yeah, me neither." Sam adds just as the EMF starts reading high, near a door.
I reach out and start to knock. "This is the fire department. We need you to evacuate." I say and moments later, the door starts to open. And that's when me and Sam shove it open.
We come through the door and see a woman was knocked back and a man starts to charge at us. But me and Sam spray the couple with holy water from our tanks, and it begins to burn them. I punch the man and shove him into a closest. "Come on!" I yell as Sam grabs the woman off the table and shoves her in the cupboard as well.
Ana leans against the door and it lurches as demon try to get inside. "Hurry up!" She yells at us and Sam grabs a canister of the duffel bag and runs a line across the closet door.
As soon as he finishes, the pounding stops. Me and Sam take off the fireman gear and move to the bedroom door. Ana opens it and we see dad on the bed. I immediately go over to dad. "Dad?" I say leaning down to his chest and listen. "He's still breathing." I tell them and Sam lets out a sigh of relief as I start shaking dad. "Dad, wake up. Dad!"
I take out a knife and am about to cut the restraints around dads wrists when Ana stops me. "Dean wait." She says and I look at her. "What?" I ask her. "Something don't feel right. What if he's possessed?" She asks. "What?" I ask again, shocked. "She's right Dean. We've got to be sure." Sam says as Ana hands him her flask of holy water and he sprinkles it on dad.
It has no affect.
Dad moans and starts to come around then looks over at Sam and Ana. "Sam? Ana? Why are you splashing water on me?" He asks and Sam sighs with relief but Ana is looking at dad with a look I can't decipher. "Dad, are you okay?" I ask him. "They've been drugging me. Where's the colt?" He asks. "Don't worry, dad. It's safe." Sam says as I cut him free. "Good. Good." Dad mutters as me and sam pick him up.
Ana starts to walk out of the room as me and Sam carry dad, when the front door bursts open. Ana stumbles back as a man and a fireman comes in. "Go! Go!" She shouts just as I say. "Back! Back!" We go back into the bedroom and close the door, locking it. But then an axe suddenly comes through the door.
Ana grabs the salt container and lines the door as me, Sam and dad climb out onto the fire escape. "Ana, let's go!" I shout as she tosses me the duffel bag and I help her climb out.
Sam and me help dad down the street and Ana moves ahead of us. But suddenly, Ana is attacked by another man and he pins her down in the street and starts beating her. "Ana!" Sam and I shout as we move to sit dad down on the side as I look through the duffel bag for a gun.
I see Ana get up and fight the man back. She hits him a few good times before he catches her wrist and punches her, catching her lip, knocking her back down. I lift the gun up and shoot the man in the head making him fall off Ana.
I let out a breath as I put the gun away and run over to Ana. "Ana!" I yell as I help her up as she groans in pain. I cup her cheeks as I look over her face, seeing a bruise forming under eye and her lip bleeding. "You okay, baby?" I ask and she winces. "Yeah."
"Okay, come on." I say as I hold onto her waist as I look at the dead man. The demon is dead but so is the man he was possessing. "Come on. We've got to get out of here." I say as Sam picks up dad and we leave the area in a hurry.

That night, in a cabin, Sam had poured salt along the window sills as I sit in front of Ana, cleaning her face. "Ow!" She winces as I swipe the cloth across her lip. "Sorry baby." I whisper as I start to dab instead. I hate seeing her like this.
We hear footsteps and see Sam coming into the room. "How is he?" I ask. "He just needs a little rest, that's all. You okay Ana?" He asks her. "I'll survive." She mutters as I press a kiss to her jaw and she gives me small smile. "You don't think we were followed here, do you?" Sam asks. "I don't think so." Ana says. "Yeah, I mean, we couldn't have found a more-out-of-the-way place to hold up." I reply as Sam looks at me.
"Hey." Ana says softly and I look back at her. "You saved me back there." She says and I smirk. "So, I guess you're glad I brought the gun, huh? Besides, it's my duty as your man to save you." I tell her and she rolls her eyes. "So, is it my duty as your woman to save you?" She asks and I chuckle. "It's one of your duties as my woman." I wink cheekily.
She laughs, biting the good side of her lip as Sam grimaces at us. "Okay, I know I've always rooted for you two to be a couple but...can you keep the dirty talk to a minimum, please?" He asks and I chuckle before my smile drops.
"Guys?" I say as I look at them. "Yeah?" They say in unison. "You know that guy I shot? There was a person in there." I say, and I can hear the guilt in my voice. "You didn't have a choice, D." Ana says softly. "Yeah, I know, that's not what bothers me." I reply.
"Then what does?" Sam asks. "Killing that guy, killing Meg. I didn't hesitate, I didn't even flinch. For you, or Ana or dad, the things I'm willing to do or kill, it's just, uh...it scares me sometimes." I say, my voice cracking slightly. Sam and Ana stare at me but don't get to say anything as dad walks in and Ana goes rigid.
"It shouldn't. You did good." He says and I look at him, confused. "You're not mad?" I ask him. "For what?" He frowns. "Using a bullet." I say. "Mad? I'm proud of you. You know, Sam and I, we can get pretty obsessed. But you- you watch out for this family. You always have." Dad says to me, as I blink at him. "Thanks." I say.
Then the wind pick up and the lights start to flicker, causing us to look at the window. "It's found us. It's here." Dad says as he looks out and Ana moves close to me. "The demon?" Sam asks and he nods. "Sam, Ana, line up salt in front of every window, every door." He says. "We already did it." Sam tells him. "Well, check it okay?" He says firmly. "Okay." Sam leaves the room.
"Dean." Ana whispers and I look down at her. "That's not your dad." She tells me and I frown. "I know." I whisper back as I point the gun at him. "Dean? Ana?" Sam says confused as he comes into the room. "What the hell's going on?" He asks.
"He's lost his mind." Dad says as he looks at me and Ana. "He's not dad." I state. "What?" Sam asks. "He's possessed. I think he's been possessed since we've rescued him." Ana answers him.
"Don't listen to them." Dad tells Sam as Sam looks at me and Ana. "Ana, how do you know?" He asks and both me and Ana are fighting back tears. "He's....he's different." She says. "You know, we don't have time for this. Sam, you wanna kill this demon, you've gotta trust me." Dad says.
Sam looks back and forth between us and dad. I glance over at Sam but don't say anything. "Sam?" Dad says as Sam looks at Ana and they share a look before he looks back at dad. "No. No." He says as he moves over to stand by Ana's side. And dad looks at us in shock.
"Fine. You three are so sure, go ahead. Kill me." Dad says as he looks down and waits. I hold the gun on him but don't pull the trigger. "I thought so." Dad says smirking before he looks back up and his eyes are yellow.
Sam and Ana get lunged back against a wall, pinned there. So am I, and I drop the colt and dad picks it up.
"What a pain in the ass this things been." Dad says. "It's you, isn't it? We've been looking for you for a long time." Sam growls and dad looks at him and Ana. "Well, you found me." He says smiling. "But the holy water?" I ask confused. "You should have listened to your pretty girlfriend. You think something like that works on something like me?" He asks.
"I'm gonna kill you!" Ana and Sam shout angrily. "Oh, that'd be a neat trick. In fact..." Dad says he puts the gun on the table. "...here Ana. Make the gun float to either of you psychic kiddos." He taunts her and she looks at the gun but nothing happens. "Well, this is fun." Dad says as he walks over to the window beside me.
"I could've killed you a hundred times today...but this..." He sighs. "...this is worth the wait." He says as I struggle against the wall. "Your dad- he's in here with me. Trapped inside his own meat suit. He says hi, by the way. He's gonna tear you apart. He's gonna taste the iron in your blood." Dad says as he looks at me. "Let him go or I swear to God-" I growl.
"What? What are you and God gonna do? You see, as far as I'm concerned, this is justice. You know that little exorcism of yours? That was my daughter." Dad says. "Who, Meg?" I ask. "The one in the alley? That was my boy. You understand." Dad says and I roll my eyes. "You've got to be kidding me." I mutter.
"What? You're the only one that can have a family? You destroyed my children. How would you feel if I killed your family?" He asks and then he smiles at me. "Oh, that's right. I forgot. I did. Still, two wrongs don't make a right." He says. "You son of a bitch." I say.
"I wanna know why. Why'd you do it?" Sam asks him angrily and dad turns to him. "You mean why did I kill your mommies and pretty, little Jess?" He asks. "Yeah." Sam replies and dad turns to me. "You know, I never told you this, but Sam was going to marry that girl." He says as he backs up towards Ana and Sam. "Been shopping for rings and everything." He says before he turns to them. "You want to know why? Because they got in the way."
"In the way of what?" Sam asks. "My plans for you, Sammy. You...and all the children like you." He says before he looks at Ana. "Including you, girlie. That's why I killed your moms....and your dad, Ana." He tells her and she looks at him confused. "My dad died from a werewolf attack." She says as dad smiles. "Who do you think sent it?" He asks and I see Anas heart break before anger takes over her face. "You son of a bitch!" She growls and he laughs.
"Listen, you mind getting this over with, huh? Because I really can't stand the monologuing." I say and dad walks over to me. "Funny, but that's all part of your M.O, isn't it? Masks all that nasty pain, masks the truth." He says.
"Oh, yeah? What's that?" I ask. "You know, you fight and you fight for this family but the truth is they don't need you. Not like you need them. Sam- he's clearly Johns favourite. Even when they fight, it's more concern than he's shown you." He says and I glare at him. "And Ana? You may be together now but she'll never accept you. She doesn't need you, just like your family doesn't need you." He tells me.
"Dean, don't listen to him. You know that's not true." Ana tells me as I continue to glare. "You know, I bet you're real proud of your kids, too, huh? Oh wait, I forgot. I wasted them." I sneer and he just smiles at me then takes a step back and puts his head down. When he looks back up, Ana suddenly yells in pain as he looks at her. "Ana! No!" Sam yells as I yell. "ANA!"
Then Ana starts to bleed heavily from her chest as blood drips from her mouth. Sam and I struggle against the force pinning us but it seems no use. "John! John, don't you let it kill me!" Ana pleads as she stares at dad while he looks at her smiling. She starts to scream in pain again.
"Ana! No!!" Sam screams again. "No! Stop! Ana!" I plead as blood starts flowing out of her. Sam and I struggle as hard as we can to break free before I see Anas eyes move to the colt. "Dad, please. You're killing her!" Sam pleads as Ana starts to pass out. "Ana!!" Sam and I scream, tears running down my face.
"Stop." Dad whispers and suddenly, Sam and I are dropped. "Stop it." Dad whispers again as Sam grabs the colt off the table and I stand next to him. Dad turns to Sam, eyes yellow once again, and Sam aims the gun at him.
"You kill me, you kill daddy." The demon says. "I know." Sam says and he fires the gun, shooting dad in the leg. He falls down and so does Ana. Sam gets up and he and I rush over to Ana.
"Baby? Baby, hey." I say frantically as I notice the blood all over her and in her mouth. "Oh god, you've lost so much blood." Sam says in a panic. "Where's John?" She asks weakly. "He's right there." Sam tells her as he gestures over to him. "Sammy, go c-check on h-him." Ana tells him.
"Ana." Sam says worriedly, but Ana slightly shakes her head. "Go c-check o-on him." She says again and he looks at me. "I've got her, Sam." I tell him softly and he gets up and checks on dad, who is laying motionless on the floor, as I help Ana try and sit up.
"Nice and easy sweetheart." I say calmly as she sits up slowly and leans back against me. "You're okay. You're okay." I whisper as she groans and lays her head back on my shoulder.
"Dad? Dad?" Sam asks as he walks towards him. Suddenly, dad looks over at him. "Sammy! It's still alive. It's inside me, I can feel it. You shoot me. You shoot me! Your shoot me in the heart, son!" Dad orders as Sam aims the gun at him. "Do it now!" Dad yells.
"Sam, don't you do it. Don't you do it." I tell as Sam looks at me before looking back at dad. "You've gotta hurry! I can't hold onto it much longer! You shoot me, son! Shoot me! Son, I'm begging you! We can end this here and now! Sammy!" Dad pleads in a frantic and tearful voice. "Sam, no." I say firmly.
"You do this! Sammy!! Sam..." dad yells as Sam's hands shake as he still aims the gun at dad. Then the demon suddenly leaves dad in a cloud of black smoke from his mouth and disappears through the floor. Sam lowers the gun as dad looks up at him accusingly.
******
We're all in the Impala, Sam is driving with dad while Ana and I are in the back. Dad gasps in pain and Ana is slumped against me as I try and clean the blood of her face again. "Hang on, baby. Just a little longer." I whisper softly to her.
"Look, just hold on, alright. The hospitals only ten minutes away." Sam says to dad. "I'm surprised at you, Sammy. Why didn't you kill it? I thought we saw eye-to-eye on this? Killing this demon comes first- before me, before everything." Dad says as Sam looks in the rearview mirror at me and Ana. I nod at him before he addresses dad again.
"No, sir. Not before everything." Sam says firmly and dad eyes him for a moment. "Look, we've still got the colt. We still have one bullet left. We just have to start over, alright? I mean, we already found the demon..." Sam says but that's the last thing I heard before I blacked out.
