November glow

By nlmacnamara

she was made of moonlight
and I've become undone
every last semblance of myself
was lost in her eyes
angel wings matching scars
and a double edged sword as my shield
we've come to pass once more
not as love but as hope again
i will seek refuge in the forest
that surrounds my heart
and an eclipse will come to find me
stuck on that path once again
it will snow upon that path
and i will waste daylight
but her heart will be safe again
locked by the words unfolding
may a miracle save this stand
where upon i may cry once like my father
she may see my words for better
and see my heart as it loses rhythm
will her eyes strike fear or show love
may i never know
but i will always remember
that old November glow
