Unfortunately, you didn't work today, Wednesday, and you wondered how the two would be without you there. Since the virus hasn't fully been taken from Moon, his maintenance checks are more often than Sun's. This would leave Sun alone. Caring for the children, as that is their job, Sun sits with a young boy as he colors, whereas Moon walks with two to a play structure.
"Alright. Let's get going, Moon," a Parts and Services employee began. Moon looking at them, his expression saddens.
"I'll be back soon," he tells the two children.
"Okay Mr. Moonyman," the little girl replies. Sun, knowing that he's taken a bit long during these, looks at Moon with concern. Moon turning his head towards Sun, smiles slightly.
Sun: Don't take too long.
Moon: I won't. Promise...
Walking out of the Daycare with the employee, Moon begins to feel a bit uneasy, as if he is overthinking this. Some of 'Lunar's' coloration taking place. Following the employee, he can't help but notice they are taking a little longer route.
"These weekly maintenance checks are a pain," Moon replied, his head twitching a bit.
"Knowing that the virus isn't fully gone, you should know we just need to make sure things are going well," the employee replied. Moon sighing with annoyance, continues to follow the employee to parts and services. I hope Sun will be alright since Y/N's off. He's never been alone alone before. I hope he'll be alright. Moon was somewhat correct. Sun was doing well by himself but soon enough, his rays began to act up.
Closing time coming to the Daycare, Sun waves bye to all the children as they get picked up by their parents. Once he closes the doors, he trails back to the mess that was in the Daycare. Sighing at the look of the mess, Sun begins to clean.
"Clean up, clean up. Everybody everywhere. Clean up, clean up. Everybody do your share," Sun hums. His rays acting up a bit, Vanny walks in dragging something behind her. As he cleans the Daycare, a couple of thuds distract the bot from his small duties. Looking around, he can't see anything out of the ordinary. Debating whether or not he should investigate, Sun continues cleaning.
Soon remembering that Moon is gone for his maintenance checks, Sun stops. What is taking Moony so long? It's been a couple hours since he left. I really hope everything is alright... Also what thudded out there? It sounded like it was thrown? It also sounded a bit heavy. Hopefully nothing fragile. Taking a short break from cleaning, Sun begins to make his way towards the Daycare doors cautiously as he doesn't know who or what he'll see.
"Uhm...Moony," Sun begins, almost hoping it was Moon but at the same time not. No response. Starting to open the doors, Sun makes his way through them but doesn't see anything or anyone.
"You there," Sun questions as he begins to loop around the doors. Still no response.
"Moon," Sun continued as he began to walk down a side of the Daycare. He walked further down the side, his rays do tend to act up a bit more but retract constantly.
???: Careful ... Unless you'd like me to handle it.
Sun: What are you talking about? Who are you?
The little voice not answering, Sun nears the 'object' from the thuds. He hopes that it's not Moon. It just couldn't be Moon. He didn't WANT it to be Moon. He closed in on the 'object' and soon saw who it was. His hopes and wishes were not heard.
"Moony," Sun begins as he runs to Moon's side. Nothing from Moon.
"Moony," Sun tries again. Still nothing. The worst sweeps across Sun. No no no no! Please! Not Moony! He looks around to see if he can see anyone. It was just them from what he could hear. His expression worries. Dents had taken place on the silver and blue bot and some cracks on his faceplating. His eyes dark. Black as night. Sun doesn't know what to do. He doesn't know how to fix Moon. Soon enough contacting you, Sun's oil-like tears begin to be obvious.
"Moony. Please, get up," Sun began as he shook his brother. Still nothing from the bot.
"Moony please," Sun practically yelled. Suddenly, Moon springs up and 'breathes' as he 'gasps for air' in a panic. Looking around frantically, Moon stays sitting.
"Moony, you okay," Sun questions. Moon doesn't answer as he continues to panic. Sun worries for Moon and inspects his brother.
"Moony," Sun questions again. Moon still doesn't answer. The bot just holds his head as he remembers what he had gone through. That pain. Nothing like he's felt before. It was excruciating. ELECTRIFYING even.
"Th-th-they. I-I-I-I know why," Moon began.
"It's alright Moony. I'm here," Sun begins.
"I-I-I-it h-hurt. I d-don't," Moon continued through his panic. Trying his best to calm the bot, Sun shushes him as much as possible.
"I-I-I-I can't. P-please. I don't," Moon continued.
"Calm Moony. Look at me," Sun began but Moon didn't comply.
"Nightlight, please. I want to help you," Sun began as he reached towards Moon.
"NO! Don't...touch me," Moon flinched.
Racing towards the Plex, you hope that what Sun had said wasn't true. Moony wasn't responding...Please don't tell me they shut him down. Seeing your destination closing in, you enter the lot and park. Getting out as quickly as you can, you lock your car and speed inside. Tearing the doors open, you run through the main lobby, up the stairs towards the Superstar Daycare doors. Bursting through them, you run down the hall/room, whatever it is, soon enough reaching the giant garage like Daycare door. Not even waiting until the door was fully open, you run in.
"Nightlight please. Let me help you," you heard Sun begin.
"DON'T TOUCH ME," you heard Moon snap.
"Sunny," you shout as you begin to run down the hall to the stairs. Sun peers his head up in your direction as he heard you and did what he could to TRY to calm Moon. Jumping over the last couple stairs, you run towards the two bots.
"You two alright? What happened? You sounded so in distress," you begin towards Sun.
"I'm fine but Moony he's. He just got back from his maintenance check. He was gone for hours. It never takes that long. I'm afraid they...did something to him," Sun began as his oil-like tears continued. Looking towards Moon, you scan him. Other than the multiple dents and cracks in his faceplate, you can't find any other physical damage. He's obviously terrified. The rest of the damage is mental. What did they do?
"Moony," you begin. Nothing from the bot as he sat and looked at the floor rocking.
"Moony. Look at me," you repeat. Moon acknowledges you and turns his head towards you.
"Y/N. They-th-they," Moon began.
"It's alright now. You're safe. With us," you continue.
"NO IT'S NOT,' Moon began. His tone surprising you and Sun as he's never snapped at you before. 'I-i-it hurt. The pain was so much. I couldn't stay on. It happened more than once. It hurt. So much."
"What happened more than once? What hurt," Sun began with question.
"What do they use to get us robots to settle down instantly? What do they do to us if we are aggravated? What do they use," Moon questioned, knowing very well what it was but wanted to hear the words from Sun. Just from the first question, Sun's expression just showed fear and shock. A little bit of anger too.
"What is it? What do they use," you question both.
"Are you being serious Moony? Did they really," Sun began, almost not getting the last couple words out.
"What," you question again. Sun turned his towards you and it was just complete fear that expressed on his faceplating.
"Controlled...Shocks," Sun answered. You cover your mouth as you let out a gasp. Why would they do that to Moon? Don't they understand that he's changed? Reaching towards the tall silver and blue bot, Moon throws himself at you, wanting a hug.
"T-t-twenty...twenty six. It hurt. Everything went dark on the 26th. I couldn't. I-it hurt," Moon began. Both you and Sun were shocked at the number Moon had said. 26. 26 times. He was shocked 26 times...
"I'm here Moony. We're both here," you begin as you rub the bots metallic back. Sobs escaped from him as he remembered everything. They asked the same question over and over. They didn't even give him a chance to answer. They just. But was it really the employees or someone else? Sun reached towards his brother's back and let his hand down slowly, as he doesn't want to startle Moon too much.
He only flinched at the touch but let Sun. You and Sun look at each other and knew that you both were thinking the EXACT same thing. Both your expressions angered and you knew that once Moon was 'resting,' you both would head to Parts and Services. Something sparked in Sun and he'd find out what it was soon enough. That little voice may have something to do with it.
