"Ugh," I roll over in bed, trying to ignore my ringing phone.

When it stops I smile and snuggle up under the covers.

Until it starts again.

"Ugh!" I roll over and glare at it on my nightstand.

I grab it and glare at Dariyah's name.

"What?" I grumble.

"Uh, are you just waking up?" she asks.

I glance at the time, past noon!

"No! Yes! Curd!" I sit up.

"Yeah... Vega's almost here."

"Crap, crap, crap," I shoot out of bed.

She snorts in amusement.

"Hush it!" I hang up.

I see I have several missed calls from Vega. She told me she would call me when she got on the plane and when she got off. I was supposed to meet her airport! I even got approval from Asherah and everything!

I knew I should have gone to bed early. But that book seemed promising. Ugh!

I grab something to wear and quickly change. I rake the brush through my hair and wash my face, getting water everywhere. Then I quickly brush my teeth and tie my hair up, I don't have time to fix it.

A text from Dariyah,

'She just arrived on campus, she's at the main gate.'

I teleport over there and appear in front of Lysander who yelps in surprise. I push him out of the way and get to Vega. She eyes me in annoyance.

"Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry!" I clap my hands together and beg for forgiveness.

She lets out a big and heavy sigh.

I grab her and her bag and teleport them to her room.

"Sorry, I'm so sorry!" I plead.

"You promised," She says in annoyance.

"I know! I'm so freaking sorry. I lost track of time last night and stayed up reading, then totally slept through my alarm. I'm so sorry."

"She just woke up..." Dariyah pauses to look at an invisible watch. "About 10 minutes ago."

I glare at her.

"Well, can't change anything now. Want to go get lunch?" Vega asks.

"Yes, please. I'm sorry," I pout.

"You're lucky you're cute," she pinches my cheek before leaning in and kissing me.

I quickly kiss her back, melting into her.

I hear Dariyah shift behind me and quickly pull back, Dariyah is looking away, pain on her face. Note to self, don't show lovey-dovey affection in front of Dariyah.

"Come on," she grabs my hand and interlocks our fingers.

"I'm sorry, I feel awful now. I'm so sorry," I pout as we walk out of the room.

"It's okay," she says with a bite to her voice, so I know it's not okay.

"Vega I promise I didn't do it on purpose. I'm so sorry."

"I know."

I sigh.

We walk to the dining hall and grab a bite to eat. Sitting at our usual table.

"Are you mad at me?" I ask.

"No."

"It's okay if you are."

"What did you do this weekend?" she changes the subject.

"Just reading, sleeping, too much sleeping."

"You didn't think of me much," she rubs her necklace.

"Oh, uh, I'm sorry. I was preoccupied."

"Emm..."

I look down at my food.

"So, you had something to tell me?"

"Oh uh... yeah, but first let me get something," I quickly get up and escape to the vending machines.

How am I going to tell her about the guy from the vision now? She's mad at me, that will just put her in a worse mood. I bang my head against the vending machines.

She comes up behind me and wraps her arms around me. I yelp in surprise.

"I know you're stalling," she giggles.

"Yes, I mean I know, I just don't want to tell you when you're mad," I say.

"I'm not mad," she walks closer to me.

"Promise?"

"I'll prove it." She steps even closer.

My breath gets caught in my throat as she shoves me back into the vending machine and starts peppering kissing up my neck. My heart skips several beats. I can't help but let a small moan escape my lips.

"I missed you," she says as she pulls back to meet my eye.

I let out a shaky breath.

She giggles.

"I missed you too," I blush.

"I'm not mad, maybe just a little pent up."

"Oh," I say.

"You didn't call me," she kisses my neck. "You didn't text me," she kisses my cheek. "And you didn't pick me up," She pecks my lips. "I need a whole weekend dose of my cute girlfriend Emery now or I will start to get a little cranky."

"I'm sorry, I just had a lot going on this weekend."

"Like what?" she meets my eyes.

"Just... stuff."

She sighs and pulls back.

"But, as soon as we eat, we can go to my room and you can have as much Emery as you want," I grab her hands in mine.

"Then stop stalling and let's go eat," she tugs me back to the table.

We sit back down and I quickly start stuffing my face to avoid talking. She shakes her head and moves closer to me.

"So what are we eating?" Dariyah plops down in front of us.

Vega glares at her.

I keep eating.

"What?"

"This is supposed to be a Me and Emery thing, not me, Emery, and Dariyah thing," Vega says in annoyance.

"Lame," Dariyah pops her chip bag open.

Vega sighs again.

"Afternoon," Gunner joins us.

"Hey, you read chapter 3 yet?" Dariyah asks him with her mouth full.

"In Andy's class?"

"Yeah."

"No, you?"

"No, I was hoping I could copy you."

"Sorry, no luck," he shrugs.

"Ugh," She groans.

Wieland comes to sit down too. I see Dariyah stiffen.

"Hey," he smiles at us.

"Hi," I force a smile.

Dariyah doesn't respond.

"I had nightmares, by the way, I hope you're happy," Nerissa slid in next to Dariyah.

Dariyah laughs and chokes on her food. I laugh too.

"Nightmares?" Vega asks.

"Oh, it's nothing, an inside joke."

"You two made up?" Vega asks me.

"Busy weekend," I say before stuffing my face again.

I watch Darko walk past our table and go sit by himself. I frown after him.

"You two are fighting?" Vega notices.

"Like she said, busy weekend," Dariyah supplies.

"I'm starting to see that," Vega grumbles before stabbing her food aggressively.

I grab Vega's hand to comfort her she pulls it away.

I pout and try again.

This time she lets me hold it but doesn't hold my hand back.

"I'll catch you guys later, Vega and I have a date to get back to," I get up and take my food with me.

Vega looks up at me and smiles a big smile before following me, also grabbing her food.

"Have fun," Dariyah says with an attitude, but I ignore her and grab Vega's hand before teleporting to Swallow Rock. Lucky for us it's unoccupied.

So I teleport to my room, grab a blanket, and come back spreading the blanket out on the floor. Then I sit down and pat the spot next to me. Vega giggles before sitting down.

"Better?" I ask.

"Much." She says.

"Now we can cuddle and eat all at once, and what's better than that? Two of my favorite things, eating and cuddling with you."

She laughs.

"Come here," I stretch out my arms.

She moves closer to me and I pull her onto my lap.

"I missed you too," I nuzzle my face into her back.

"Thank you, I needed this," She says softly.

"Anything for my amazingly cute and pretty, best girlfriend ever Vega."

She giggles.

"I'm sorry I'm a moron. I won't ever stand you up again, honest," I say.

"Fine, I forgive you." She grabs my hand and interlocks our fingers.

"I knew you were mad," I grumble.

She laughs.

"So, you had something to tell me?"

I sigh and rest my head against her.

"Emery, I won't let it go," She sings.

"It's... a bad thing," I say.

"You said it was just a thing."

"I lied."

"Well, I'm in a good mood," She turns in my lap to face me.

I look down, unable to meet her eyes.

"You can tell me, you can tell me anything," She assures me.

"I've been getting this vision," I start.

"Vision?"

I nod.

"What kind of vision?"

"A vision of me with someone..."

"Romantically?"

"Kind of, and that someone isn't you."

"Who?" she demands.

"I don't know. I have no clue who he is."

"He..."

I meet her eyes.

"How long has this been happening?"

"A while..." I admit.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"I was trying to ignore it, but It's been causing me problems and becoming almost impossible to ignore."

"Do you feel things for this guy?"

"Sometimes..." I mumble.

"Do you feel more for him than you do for me?"

"No!" I quickly say. "Never. I love you," I assure her. "He's just confusing me a lot lately."

She sighs in relief.

"It's not like that. I don't want to break up or anything. I just, thought you should know."

"Did something happen?"

"Kind of..." I look down again.

"What?"

"Promise not to be mad?"

"Emery what happened?" she demands.

"I was hanging out with Dariyah, and I started having a vision..."

"And?"

"And I may or may not have accidentally kissed her."

She's deathly silent.

"It was an accident I swear!" I look up to meet her eyes. "In my vision, I was kissing him, but in reality, it lasted less than a second before Dariyah almost punched me in the face. It didn't mean anything. Nothing at all, and Dariyah wanted to tell you, but I told her I wanted to tell you because I'm the one that messed up, not her. So now I'm telling you, and you're still not saying anything, and now I'm freaking out because you look really mad. I was just so overwhelmed by my vision, I couldn't stop it."

"I'm going to kill her," she growls.

"No!" I stop her from getting up. "It was my fault, it was an accident."

Never mind the not-so-accidental kiss that happened shortly after. But hey, one bad news at a time.

"It didn't mean anything to me, I swear. My vision just got to me. And if it makes you feel better I almost died because of Dariyah and we didn't even talk for like a whole day until we both agreed to pretend the whole thing never happened."

"What kind of a kiss?"

"Like just a peck on the lips, really, nothing else," I assure her.

She sighs.

"Don't be mad, well actually you can be mad, I understand. I just... I'm sorry," I look down in shame.

She pats my head; I look up at her.

"Maybe I can go into your head again and try and figure out where these visions stem from," Her eyes are soft and kind.

"No, but thank you. I think I have to figure this one out on my own. Dariyah gave me an idea, but I don't know if it's true. She said maybe I was having this vision because I wanted you to be like that guy in my vision. When we had sex on my birthday, I was channeling him. I wanted to be loving, and passionate, and just take my time. Maybe you and Dariyah are on to something, maybe this is my subconscious projecting. These visions didn't start until after I got my powers, so I need to figure out if maybe I'm doing this to myself. Or maybe it's something else entirely."

"Okay, just let me know if I can help."

"I will, I'm sorry I took so long to tell you. I didn't want you to worry or think that I didn't like you or something. I thought I could handle it."

She kisses my forehead softly.

I wrap my arms around her and hug her.

"Just so we are clear, this guy isn't a real person right?" she asks.

"So far as I know, no. And I even searched the whole student database, don't tell Asherah."

She holds me tighter.

"If he does turn out to be real, you'll be the first to know. Swear."

"I better be."

"Can we go back to our lovey-dovey date now? I want Vega cuddles," I pout.

"Deal, and maybe we can get in something else later too," She winks at me.

I blush.

Curse her high libido.
