"An'an, it seems like we're on a very high floor!"

Zhang Lu was leaning against the window, and An'an's head was close to hers. He responded with a nod.

Chu Xia smiled as she watched the two, allowing their curiosity as long as it didn't disturb the people around.

The plane was about to take off, and the flight attendant reminded passengers to sit down and fasten their seat belts. Zhang Lu and An'an complied, following the flight attendant's instructions for pre-flight safety preparations.

At first, Zhang Lu and An'an were unsure about how to sit. Zhang Lu boldly raised her hand and called the flight attendant, "Sister, can you help us?"

The flight attendant helped adjust the children's seats, fastened their seat belts, and Zhang Lu and Cen Huai'an sweetly thanked her. The flight attendant's smile became even sweeter, "You're welcome, kids. If you need anything, you can call me."

Chu Xia patted the heads of Zhang Lu and Cen Huai'an, saying, "When the plane takes off later, the noise will be a bit loud. Suddenly ascending may feel uncomfortable, but don't be afraid. Lift your feet, and if your ears feel uncomfortable, open and close your mouth repeatedly."

Saying this, Chu Xia held An'an's hand and asked him to hold Zhang Lu's hand.

Cen Huai'an and Zhang Lu nodded earnestly.

At this moment, the plane began to take off, and the roar of the engines sounded. The sensations of weightlessness and ringing in the ears occurred simultaneously. Chu Xia clearly felt An'an squeezing her hand with increased strength.

Chu Xia also tightened her grip, comforting him not to be nervous.

This sensation passed quickly, only lasting a few minutes, not exceeding five. An'an gradually relaxed.

Chu Xia turned to ask him and Zhang Lu, "Are you okay?"

Cen Huai'an nodded, and Zhang Lu's eyes sparkled, "Aunt, so this is what it's like when the plane takes off!"

Seeing no discomfort on their faces, Chu Xia showed a relieved smile, "Yes, actually, it's only different during takeoff and landing compared to other modes of transportation. After it stabilizes, there won't be much sensation."

Zhang Lu leaned against the window, looking outside as the plane navigated through the high-altitude clouds. Fluffy white clouds floated around, giving the impression that the entire plane was being lifted by them.

Those clouds seemed so close, almost within reach, tempting one to extend their hand for a hug.

This feeling was indescribably wonderful, as if stepping into a fairy tale world.

"Aunt! So many clouds, so beautiful!"

Zhang Lu stared intently, her eyes wide open. If the window could be opened, Chu Xia had no doubt she would try to reach out to those clouds.

Cen Huai'an's eyes also showed amazement. He enjoyed the sensation of being surrounded by clouds, watching outside with Zhang Lu, their gazes lingering.

As they observed the various cloud formations outside, Cen Huai'an and Zhang Lu no longer felt bored. Their excitement and indescribable happiness filled their hearts.

Although Chu Xia had flown before, it had been a while. Like the two children, she propped up her chin and smiled while looking at the clouds outside.

After flying for a while, a flight attendant approached with a small cart.

The cart was filled with a variety of beverages, including the trendiest ones such as red orange juice, soda, cola, and coffee, along with a variety of fruit snacks.

The flight attendant was the same one who had helped Zhang Lu and An'an earlier. She remembered the two children and greeted them with an even more sincere smile, "Hello! May I ask what you would like to drink?"

The gentle voice of the flight attendant captured the attention of Cen Huai'an and Zhang Lu. They turned to see the delicious offerings on the cart, their eyes filled with surprise.

Zhang Lu's eyes widened, looking at a bottle of cola, she asked, "Can I choose anything to drink?"

"Anything is fine."

"Do we need to pay for it?"

The flight attendant still wore a smile, revealing her eight teeth, "Food on the plane is free."

Zhang Lu immediately pointed to the cola, wanting to drink it. Cen Huai'an also wanted cola, while Chu Xia opted for a cup of coffee instead of the beverages.

The flight attendant bent slightly, pouring the three of them their chosen drinks with excellent service. She placed a small cake in front of An'an, and picked out the fruits that Chu Xia and Zhang Lu wanted, placing them on a plate and handing them to Chu Xia and Zhang Lu.

The complimentary drinks, food, and the excellent service of the flight attendant were all things that fascinated Cen Huai'an and Zhang Lu.

"Mom, the taste of the cola is different from when we drink it below."

Zhang Lu nodded repeatedly, "Yes, I feel the same. It's not as sweet as drinking it at home."

Chu Xia took a sip of coffee and explained to the two, "Because of many factors on the plane, it can affect people's sense of smell, and since smell and taste are connected, they become less sensitive in the air than on the ground. For example, when you have a cold and your nose is blocked, you also find that food has less flavor. The principles are similar."

Cen Huai'an and Zhang Lu suddenly understood, lowering their heads to look at the cola in their cups, contemplating.

Zhang Lu continued to drink cola and eat fruit. Although it wasn't as delicious as on the ground, she didn't want to waste the food.

The plane's speed was impressive. Cen Huai'an felt like he hadn't been on the plane for long, just chatting with his mom and sister, having some food and drinks, and then going to the restroom. Suddenly, he heard the announcement that the plane was about to arrive.

"Mom, are we in the capital?"

For a journey that would take days by train, it was hard for Cen Huai'an to believe that flying could be so fast.

"Yes. Landing is similar to takeoff. If you feel uncomfortable, just follow what I said earlier." Chu Xia held his hand, and he, in turn, held Zhang Lu's hand.

"So fast!" Zhang Lu looked at the plane descending and couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.

When the plane finally came to a complete stop, and the announcement notified passengers to disembark, Zhang Lu and Cen Huai'an still felt a bit reluctant to leave the plane.

After all, it was their first time flying, and it ended so quickly; both of them wanted to experience it a bit more.

However, others were already undoing their seat belts and preparing to disembark. Chu Xia stood up, turned around, and raised her eyebrows at the two, "What's wrong? Don't want to get off the plane?"

Cen Huai'an and Zhang Lu shook their heads before starting to unfasten their seat belts. Chu Xia, holding their hands, led them down from the boarding gate.

Next, Chu Xia took the two children to retrieve their luggage and exit the airport.

Outside the airport, Jiang Zhida was already waiting. He leaned against the car, a cigarette in his hand, eyes looking towards the airport exit.

As soon as he saw Chu Xia and the others coming out, he immediately extinguished the cigarette and took out a mint-flavored candy from his pocket, putting it in his mouth.

When Chu Xia brought the two children on the plane, she had informed Cen Zhengnian and the Jiang family in advance about their flight and landing time.

Returning home, she wanted her family to know when they would arrive. After all, it wasn't just her and An'an; there was also Zhang Lu, and her parents would worry too.

"Uncle!"

As soon as Zhang Lu saw Jiang Zhida, she dropped her luggage on the ground and ran towards him, jumping to hug him.

Jiang Zhida caught her steadily, took a step back, and raised the corner of his mouth, "Oh! It looks like Lu Lu has been doing well in Dongcheng. She has even gained some weight."

Zhang Lu got off Jiang Zhida, laughing, "Haha, of course! Aunt, An'an, and I went to many places. Also, I won the second prize in the National Junior High School Mathematics Competition. Uncle, I'm amazing, right!"

Zhang Lu shook her eyebrows proudly at Jiang Zhida, the radiance on her face more dazzling than the sun.

"Amazing!" Jiang Zhida immediately gave her a thumbs-up, his eyes filled with genuine admiration.

Chu Xia and An'an also approached with their luggage, bringing Zhang Lu's luggage along.

Zhang Lu chuckled and quickly took her luggage from Chu Xia's hands, "Aunt, I'm too excited."

Chu Xia patted her head, not taking it seriously.

Jiang Zhida opened the car door and placed Chu Xia, An'an, and Zhang Lu's luggage inside.

The group got into the car.

"Lu Lu got the second prize, and An'an probably got the first prize, right?" Jiang Zhida started the car, looking at Cen Huai'an through the rearview mirror with a tone full of certainty.

Cen Huai'an nodded.

Zhang Lu thought he spoke too little and added, "Not only did he get the first prize, but he also got the highest score, the only one with a perfect score in the competition!"

Her voice was proud, as if she had won the first prize herself. Cen Huai'an heard this and his mouth curled up slightly; he liked it when his family felt proud of him, it gave him a sense of achievement.

Chu Xia's smile on the side widened, "Yes, Lu Lu is right."

Jiang Zhida's face instantly showed a surprised and admiring expression, "An'an is really amazing! Lu Lu is also amazing. Why are all the kids in my family so outstanding? To celebrate your excellent results, I'll take you to eat something good!"

"Uncle, where are we going?" Zhang Lu couldn't wait to ask.

The food they had on the plane had now been digested. At their age, Zhang Lu and Cen Huai'an were in a growing phase, getting hungry quickly and eating a lot.

Cen Huai'an also looked at Jiang Zhida, his eyes revealing anticipation; he loved eating delicious food.

Jiang Zhida raised his eyebrows, teasing, "You'll know in a bit."

Chu Xia smiled and added, "If it's not delicious, we won't agree."

Jiang Zhida: "The place I found, for sure, won't have this kind of thing happen!"

Chu Xia laughed, creating a cheerful atmosphere in the entire car. Cen Huai'an's lips also curved upward.

Zhang Lu couldn't stop talking. Sitting in the front passenger seat, she shared her exam experience with Jiang Zhida, starting from taking the train.

Before she could finish talking about getting off the train, Jiang Zhida's car had already come to a stop. Chu Xia glanced out the window and saw they were in Xidan.

But there were no restaurants nearby, only a large door next to a messy-looking shop, cluttered with paint, cement, and similar items.

"We're here." Jiang Zhida opened the car door for the three to get out.

Chu Xia stepped out, her eyes filled with confusion. Looking around, she still didn't see any restaurants. She asked Jiang Zhida, "Where are we going to eat?"

Jiang Zhida pointed to the messy gate Chu Xia had just seen, saying, "Right here."

"Here?" Chu Xia hadn't spoken yet when Zhang Lu spoke up, "Uncle, this place doesn't seem to be open. What are we going to eat?"

Chu Xia also looked at Jiang Zhida, wanting to know what he was up to.

Only Cen Huai'an glanced at the shop door, his eyes showing contemplation. "Uncle, is this the billiard hall you're planning to open?"

Cen Huai'an knew that Jiang Zhida was planning to open a billiard hall with an ice skating rink, a fact not known to outsiders but known to both Jiang's and Chu Xia's families.

Jiang Zhida snapped his fingers, patted Cen Huai'an on the shoulder, and said, "Smart, An'an. Yes, this is the billiard hall I'm going to open. Come, let's go inside and take a look."

He waved boldly, leading the way and opening the door. A cloud of dust rose as he gestured for Chu Xia and the others to follow after the dust settled.

Zhang Lu was the first to follow, curious about what her uncle's billiard hall and ice skating rink would look like once completed.

Chu Xia and Cen Huai'an followed behind.

Inside the building, the general shape of the structure was visible, and the overall construction had taken shape. Most of the rooms on the ground floor were already built, but the upper floors were not constructed yet, leaving the ceiling hollow.

Many construction workers were busy inside, and various sounds of construction filled the air.

These sounds didn't affect Jiang Zhida's eagerness to show off. The foreman approached, warmly greeted Jiang Zhida, who then asked for four safety helmets for Chu Xia and the others, putting one on himself.

As Jiang Zhida walked, he explained his plans for the place step by step to Chu Xia and the others.

"Here, I want to build a restaurant. Going in from this direction, it leads to the ice rink, and the entire open space at the back will be used as a venue. The second, third, and fourth floors will be private rooms, not only housing a billiard hall but also a KTV, chess and card rooms..."

Jiang Zhida's words filled Zhang Lu with longing, and she pulled his arm, "Uncle, hurry up and build it! I want to come here for ice skating!"

"Don't worry." Jiang Zhida patted Zhang Lu's head, "I specifically got cards for you, An'an, and Xi Xi. All expenses here will be free."

Zhang Lu cheered, "Uncle, I really love you!"

Jiang Zhida looked at Cen Huai'an, "An'an, do you like Uncle's arrangement?"

"I like it." Cen Huai'an's eyes showed obvious joy.

Jiang Zhida, pleased to have the favor of the two kids, asked Chu Xia, "Sister-in-law, how do you like my plan?"

Chu Xia looked at the space Jiang Zhida was preparing to build the fourth floor and asked, "How did you come up with the idea of a chess and card room?"

Jiang Zhida ruffled his hair, saying, "Hey! It was my buddies; they said playing cards in that small house outside wasn't enjoyable. So, I thought of making a room like this."

Chu Xia nodded, "Alright. But keep in mind that this business can easily attract some thrill-seekers. Be cautious not to have any illegal activities here. A chess and card room is fine, but it shouldn't have the nature of gambling. It's better to leave some private rooms, decorated like hotel accommodations, convenient for guests who can't go home after drinking too much at night. Remember, absolutely no special services!"

It's the late eighties, a period of substantial development for various entertainment venues, especially in the nineties. However, this era is also prone to fostering shady activities.

The establishment Jiang Zhida wants to open is a large-scale entertainment venue. Still, Chu Xia wishes it to be a legitimate and safe entertainment destination.

Jiang Zhida's expression instantly became serious, nodding earnestly. "Sister-in-law, rest assured, the concerns you have won't happen. After all, I want An'an and Lu Lu to feel comfortable coming here to play."

Chu Xia's smile returned to her face. "I trust you."

Cen Huai'an and Zhang Lu had just reached the area where the ice rink would be built. Zhang Lu was excitedly discussing with An'an about coming here to play every week once the ice rink was completed.

After finishing their conversation, Chu Xia patted her stomach and said, "Where is the place you mentioned for eating? Is it inside this building with various construction materials?"

Wouldn't that be eating while covered in dust, not knowing if it's a meal or a lime feast?

Jiang Zhida immediately chuckled, "Of course not. How can we eat with dirt falling on us from above?"

He called Zhang Lu and An'an over, leading the three into this partially completed building. They walked until they reached the entrance, and he opened a door next to it. Inside was a casually decorated room with almost everything one might need.

Jiang Zhida skillfully opened the refrigerator and took out beverages for everyone. "This is where I usually stay. Today, let you taste the culinary skills of the chef I specially invited."

He then left the room.

Chu Xia noticed that although the place wasn't large, it was well-equipped, and there was another door inside, probably the place where Jiang Zhida rested at night.

During this period, he ate and stayed here, watching this future entertainment venue gradually taking shape.

Zhang Lu and Cen Huai'an explored the room in Jiang Zhida's house, showing restraint by not rummaging through things or opening the door inside. They focused on the radio that Jiang Zhida had placed on the table.

The two of them turned on the radio, and a clear, smooth, and magnetic voice of a radio host emanated from it.

Zhang Lu didn't like listening to the news, and Cen Huai'an wasn't interested either. They found a cassette of a singer near the radio and decided to play some music.

Just as they were getting things set up, Jiang Zhida walked in, holding a food container.

"This chef will be working in the shop in the future. Sister-in-law, An'an, Lu Lu, try the taste and give some feedback."

As he spoke, Jiang Zhida took the dishes from the food container and placed them on the table. Chu Xia glanced at him, "Is this chef currently cooking for the workers here?"

Jiang Zhida nodded confidently, "Yes, I spent a lot of money to hire him. I can't let him sit idle at home."

The chef's skills were excellent, specializing in Shandong cuisine, including dishes like One-Pot Tofu, Sweet and Sour Carp, Pot Roasted Duck, and Lotus Chicken Slices.

Jiang Zhida introduced each dish carefully to Chu Xia and the others, "I've hired this chef now, and later on, I'll find chefs from other cuisines to join as well. I want my shop not only to be a unique entertainment venue in the capital but also to serve exceptional food!"

Chu Xia gave him a thumbs up, "Great, I support this idea."

Zhang Lu and Cen Huai'an were even more delighted because they could look forward to enjoying a variety of delicious foods in the future.

Chu Xia, Zhang Lu, and Cen Huai'an found no faults with the chef Jiang Zhida had hired. On the contrary, because the dishes were so delicious, they finished everything.

Jiang Zhida's celebration feast for Cen Huai'an and Zhang Lu, despite the somewhat simple venue, was impeccable in all other aspects.

Zhang Lu and Cen Huai'an were extremely satisfied, lavishing Jiang Zhida and the chef with praise. Cen Huai'an joined in, making Jiang Zhida very happy and earning the two of them quite a few benefits.

Still, Chu Xia couldn't overlook the sight of Jiang Zhida almost revealing all his assets in joy. She stood up and said, "Alright, An'an, Lu Lu, it's time for us to go home."

If they didn't return soon, Zhang Lu's parents would start worrying.

***

Cen Zhengnian returned home in the early morning, his steps a bit more hurried than usual. Upon reaching the doorstep, he saw the familiar warm yellow light inside the house. The expression on his face softened instantly, and he opened the door to enter.

Chu Xia was sitting in the living room watching TV. An'an had already fallen asleep, and it was she who had told him bedtime stories to lull him to sleep.

Ever since they read that supernatural story on the train, An'an would get scared and find it difficult to sleep if there was no one accompanying him at night.

Chu Xia hadn't expected An'an, who seemed fearless of everything, to be afraid of ghosts, something that didn't even exist.

However, An'an with such a childlike demeanor pleased Chu Xia, and she was more than happy to tell him stories every night.

"Back already?"

Hearing the sound of the door opening, Chu Xia looked towards the entrance, her eyes meeting Cen Zhengnian's gentle gaze.

"Yeah. When did you all get home?"

Chu Xia stood up, stretched lazily, and said, "We arrived home in the afternoon. Didn't you know our flight schedule?"

Cen Zhengnian closed the door and changed his shoes. He looked up and said, "I thought you would go to Grandpa's house."

"We'll go in a couple of days, maybe on Sunday. We just got back from outside, and both An'an and I want to rest at home for a few days."

Chu Xia walked over to Cen Huai'an and noticed the dark circles under his eyes had deepened. She frowned, "Did you stay up late while I was away?"

Cen Zhengnian avoided her gaze and mumbled, "Yeah," not daring to meet her eyes.

Chu Xia gave him a firm pat, "I knew you wouldn't listen."

Glancing down, she saw Cen Zhengnian holding work-related papers and pointed at them, "Since I'm home today, you'll listen to me. Finish your work tomorrow. Now, go wash up and get ready for bed."

In the past few days, Cen Zhengnian didn't take good care of himself as Chu Xia had advised. Feeling short of breath, he didn't dare to argue with Chu Xia. He agreed, handed over his work to her, and went to the bathroom.

That night, Cen Zhengnian didn't do any more work. He was exhausted, and within a few minutes of lying down, he fell into a deep sleep.

Chu Xia looked at him, still frowning even in his sleep. She sighed, reached out, and gently rubbed his forehead.

Subconsciously, Cen Zhengnian extended his arm to pull her into his embrace. The tension in his brows eased, and his whole demeanor became calm.

***

The next day when Cen Huai'an arrived at school, he saw a banner hanging at the entrance of the affiliated middle school: "Congratulations to our schoolmate Cen Huai'an for winning the first prize in the National Junior High School Mathematics Competition!"

He pursed his lips, feeling that this must be something his teacher had arranged.

As Cen Huai'an entered the classroom, his classmates, who were usually noisy, immediately widened their eyes and looked at him in astonishment.

"Cen Huai'an, you're back!"

"Cen Huai'an, I heard you won the first prize. That's impressive!"

"Cen Huai'an, you don't know, Teacher Zhang praised you so many times in class. His face has been smiling like a flower these days."

Listening to the voices of his classmates, Cen Huai'an answered their questions about the exam and the events that occurred after he left, succinctly and to the point.

Despite his brevity, his classmates were genuinely curious about the national first prize.

Some of them hadn't even had the opportunity to participate in city-level competitions, so they naturally admired Cen Huai'an for winning a national first prize.

He had become an existence that they could no longer catch up with but needed to look up to.

As they were chatting, the math teacher, Teacher Zhang, came in, knocked on the table, and the students surrounding Cen Huai'an scattered to their seats like mice seeing a cat.

When Teacher Zhang saw Cen Huai'an, the seriousness on his face disappeared instantly. "Huai'an is back. Come to my office," Teacher Zhang said.

None of the classmates had heard Teacher Zhang speak so gently before. As soon as he and Cen Huai'an left, the whole class burst into laughter.

Teacher Zhang brought Cen Huai'an to the office mainly to show off to his colleagues, showcasing a student who had won the first prize in the National Mathematics Competition.

Then he asked about Cen Huai'an's exam situation and the specific problems on the paper.

Cen Huai'an had a vivid memory of those problems. He wrote down the questions and answers, handing them over to Teacher Zhang.

The next day, Teacher Zhang took that paper to test the whole class, leaving Cen Huai'an's classmates almost in tears. They scratched their heads, frowned, and looked distressed while attempting to solve the problems.

Cen Huai'an, on the other hand, was the only one doing the remaining math papers.

After handing in the papers, everyone realized that the paper Teacher Zhang used for the test was the one Cen Huai'an had solved in the competition. All eyes turned to him, wide with amazement.

"Such difficult problems, and you actually won the first prize, Cen Huai'an, I truly admire you."

"Indeed, mathematics is beyond the comprehension of ordinary people. Luckily, I don't study advanced math."

"Cen Huai'an, how did you manage to get a perfect score on such difficult problems?"

Cen Huai'an looked at them and said, "Just like solving problems during regular practice, read the question and answer it."

Classmates: ...

They also read and solved problems during regular practice, so why couldn't they solve them now? The difference between individuals was just too significant.

The weather in the capital was very pleasant at the moment, not too cold or hot. It was the kind of weather where one didn't need to wear a sweater, just a light jacket.

On the first day back in the capital, Chu Xia went to the hospital. Old Lady Tang looked at her and snorted, "You finally decided to come back? Finish reading this in the next two days, and I will quiz you on it."

Old Lady Tang was not very approving of Chu Xia taking so many days off.

Chu Xia was about to graduate, and the time for Old Lady Tang to teach her and for her to learn was becoming less. Old Lady Tang just wanted Chu Xia to make the most of her time, learn more, and teach her more.

However, in Chu Xia's family, only she could go to accompany her son, and Old Lady Tang couldn't avoid approving it. Now, seeing Chu Xia, Old Lady Tang's mood was somewhat irritated.

Chu Xia took the medical record book handed over by Old Lady Tang and said earnestly, "Thank you, teacher. I will remember it well."

She didn't mind Old Lady Tang's cold demeanor because Chu Xia knew that Old Lady Tang was wholeheartedly working for the good of the students. Old Lady Tang was only upset because she hadn't studied properly during these past few days.

Ye Mengchun returned from outside and was also surprised to see Chu Xia. She put down the various books she was holding, and Old Lady Tang casually picked one and told Chu Xia, "I will ask questions about the content of this book later."

With the medical records and books, Chu Xia had to work overtime to review them in the evening.

But it was okay. Many things were things Chu Xia had learned before, and she didn't need to relearn much. However, she had to carefully read the medical records, as they contained information about diseases and prescriptions that were not entirely covered in the textbooks. These were based on Old Lady Tang's medical experience.

Two days later, when Old Lady Tang questioned Chu Xia, she answered very smoothly, providing her insights and opinions on the patients' conditions.

Old Lady Tang was finally satisfied. "It seems that your trip outside didn't slacken your efforts."

On Sunday, Chu Xia took An'an to visit Grandpa Jiang. When Grandpa Jiang looked at Cen Huai'an, his eyes were filled with pride.

The news of his first prize had spread through Zhang Lu. Every member of the Jiang family knew about it.

"An'an, what reward do you want?"

Cen Huai'an replied, "A big cake."

Before Grandpa Jiang could respond, Chu Xia intervened, "No, you can't finish a whole cake by yourself."

"Ice cream," Cen Huai'an also wanted this. His favorite flavor was chocolate.

Chu Xia agreed to this request.

Entering May, the weather became hotter. Chu Xia, Cen Zhengnian, and Cen Huai'an all wore thin clothes. Even those who were afraid of the heat put on short sleeves.

Chu Xia was even busier at this time. She would graduate in June and was currently required to complete various graduation assignments, leaving her with no time to focus on anything else.

Moreover, it was time to prepare for job assignments. The students in their class were all busy with this matter. Everyone wanted to be assigned to a good work unit.

Chu Xia didn't want to go to the famous big hospitals in the capital. She only wanted to be assigned to the affiliated hospital of the research institute. She specifically went to find the counselor to express her thoughts.

The job assignments were based on your grades and performance. Outstanding students would naturally be assigned to good hospitals.

Of course, there were also assignments based on your hometown. This allocation was quite random.

When the counselor heard her thoughts, he looked at her with surprise. Originally, he wanted to refuse her like other students, but he swallowed those words this time.

"Chu Xia, you are the top student in the class. Are you sure you don't want to go to Peking Union Medical College Hospital, or Hospital 301?"

Chu Xia nodded, very determined. "I don't want to. My family is associated with the research institute. If I'm assigned to the hospital you mentioned, my family and I will be separated, and I also have a child."

The counselor checked Chu Xia's file and nodded. "Okay, I understand." He didn't give Chu Xia a clear response.

Chu Xia was unsure about the counselor's thoughts. She didn't know if she could really be assigned to the place she wanted.

Therefore, Chu Xia went to see Old Lady Tang again, explaining her desired location and asking for her help.

Old Lady Tang frowned after hearing it. "That place is quite remote."

Chu Xia said, "I know."

She explained the reasons to the counselor again and then to Old Lady Tang. Old Lady Tang understood her and also felt regretful.

She sighed and said, "With your professional achievements and level, you can be assigned to very good hospitals. Are you sure you want to give that up?"

Chu Xia nodded firmly without hesitation.

"Alright, I'll talk to your counselor."

Old Lady Tang cared a lot about her students. Although she was strict, she was a typical case of being tough on the outside but soft on the inside. She wouldn't turn a blind eye to the difficulties her students faced.

In June, the assignment results came out. Chu Xia heard that she had been assigned to the affiliated hospital of the research institute, and finally, she breathed a sigh of relief.

At this point, Chu Xia had also completed her final graduation assignments, received her diploma, and degree certificate.

In early June, the school held the graduation ceremony. Wearing the academic gown, Chu Xia walked through the campus with her roommates, all of them feeling reluctant to part ways.

"Are we really graduating now?" Yang Jin said with a touch of melancholy. "It feels like I just entered the campus yesterday. How come we're graduating all of a sudden?"

Mao Xiaolan also looked sad. She had been assigned to a hospital in her hometown, which was far from the capital. It would be difficult to meet her current roommates and classmates in the future.

Liang Wenwen, also assigned to her hometown, held onto Yang Jin's arm, looking very reluctant. "I wanted to stay in the capital. It's all my fault for not working hard enough."

Now it was too late to say such things.

A faint sense of farewell sadness welled up in Chu Xia's heart. After graduation, everyone would truly go their separate ways.

With underdeveloped transportation, opportunities to meet would be scarce.

Ye Mengchun and Yang Jin both pursued postgraduate studies. One was under Teacher Meng, and the other followed a different professor. Although they didn't have to leave the school, they shared the same sadness as Mao Xiaolan and the others.

After taking graduation photos, attending the graduation ceremony, and listening to the principal's blessings on their batch of students, Chu Xia knew that her university life had truly come to an end.

As the ceremony concluded, everyone walked out of the auditorium, and Chu Xia walked alongside Ye Mengchun.

"Chu Xia, will you still come to the school in the future?"

Chu Xia glanced at her and casually replied, "Of course. Teacher Tang has been so good to me; I'll definitely come to visit her often."

Ye Mengchun's eyes showed a hint of joy. Just as she was about to say something, Chu Xia looked up and saw at the entrance of the auditorium, standing there were Cen Huai'an, Zhang Lu, Jiang Weixian, and a little one, Jiang Weixi.

"Mom!"

"Aunt!"

As soon as the children saw Chu Xia, they immediately called out loudly. Cen Huai'an was holding a large bouquet of flowers, and Zhang Lu, Jiang Weixian, and Jiang Weixi were holding smaller bouquets.

A broad smile appeared on Chu Xia's face. "My son and family are here. Let's talk later."

"Mom, congratulations on your graduation!"

Cen Huai'an walked up to Chu Xia, raised the bouquet in his hand, and gave it to her. His clear eyes looked at her with genuine blessings.

Chu Xia's smile widened, and she bent down to accept the flowers. "Thank you, An'an. I really like them."

This bouquet of flowers was obviously arranged by Cen Huai'an himself, using newspapers and colorful paper. The flowers inside were diverse, and the arrangement was a bit chaotic, but it looked very charming.

Zhang Lu and Jiang Weixi also approached to give flowers and blessings to Chu Xia. The children's faces were filled with innocent smiles, and Chu Xia felt joy lifting her heart.

Ye Mengchun stood at a distance, watching the warm and joyful scene on Chu Xia's side, with a touch of unnoticed envy in her eyes.

"How did you all get here?"

Cen Huai'an and Zhang Lu, with Jiang Weixi, surely wouldn't let the four kids come by themselves.

Cen Huai'an: "Uncle brought us here."

Chu Xia looked around and didn't see Jiang Zhida. "Where's Uncle?"

"He's at the main gate!"

Chu Xia turned back and waved to Ye Mengchun, then walked out with the four kids.

Not far away, Chu Xia saw Cen Zhengnian standing by the roadside, with a gentle smile on his face, his eyes fixed on her.

He also held a bouquet of flowers, dressed in a white short-sleeved shirt and black suit pants, presenting the image of a refined professor from university, exuding a literary charm.

Cen Zhengnian stood under a mimosa tree. As the wind blew, the pink mimosa flowers fell like little fans, creating a dreamy and beautiful scene, making Cen Zhengnian even more attention-grabbing.

As passing students noticed him, not one failed to turn their heads for a glance.

Chu Xia gave him a big smile, and the joy in her eyes couldn't be hidden.

Cen Zhengnian walked towards her, step by step, with firm strides. He came to her, extending the bouquet of flowers: "Chu Xia, congratulations on your graduation. I hope your future days will be as you wish, safe and smooth."

Chu Xia looked up at him, and it was his most sincere wish. Cen Zhengnian only hoped that Chu Xia could have a peaceful and happy life, doing what she wanted.

Her heart seemed to be gently stirred, unable to stop its rapid beating, surging with waves of sweetness.

What should I do? It seems I can't hug the flowers."

"It's okay." Cen Zhengnian adjusted the collar of Chu Xia's academic gown. "Let me help you hold them."

Chu Xia tried to gather the flowers in her arms, allowing Cen Zhengnian to place the bouquet in the space she made available. "No, I want to hug the flowers you gave me at my graduation too."

Cen Huai'an, Zhang Lu, and the other kids showed understanding. While Chu Xia was talking to Cen Zhengnian, they stood at a distance, even Jiang Weixi stared curiously with her big round eyes.

She didn't understand what Chu Xia and Cen Zhengnian were doing, but if her older siblings were doing something, she wanted to join in.

Suddenly, Jiang Zhida's voice came from a distance: "Cousin, Sister-in-law, the camera is brought over!"

For Chu Xia's graduation, she actually wanted to keep some memories, but a camera was quite expensive, and she didn't buy one.

Cen Zhengnian understood her thoughts, so he discussed with Jiang Zhida privately, asking if he could borrow a camera. He didn't have any personal funds.

Cen Zhengnian knew that Jiang Zhida had a wide circle of friends, and some of them enjoyed photography.

Chu Xia was even more delighted when she saw the camera.

On the day of her university graduation, she truly had no regrets.

Among the graduates in their academic gowns, Chu Xia began taking photos with every corner of the campus, every teacher, and every close friend.

Of course, there were many photos of Cen Huai'an, Cen Zhengnian, and the kids.

Basically, Jiang Zhida was taking the pictures.

Zhang Lu, Jiang Weixian, and Jiang Weixi also enjoyed taking photos. Running around the campus with Chu Xia to capture various beautiful scenes didn't tire them out; they were very excited.

"Beautiful! Beautiful!" Jiang Weixi held her little face and said to Jiang Zhida, indicating that she wanted to look beautiful in the pictures.

Zhang Lu's movements were more natural, completely in line with her own thoughts, not at all awkward. She and Jiang Weixi had the most expressive facial expressions and movements.

Cen Huai'an always maintained a consistent expression, holding Chu Xia's hand or the hands of his parents, with a slight upward curve at the corners of his mouth.

After taking numerous photos, Chu Xia began to feel tired, while Zhang Lu and Jiang Weixi were still full of energy, pulling Jiang Zhida to take more photos with them, including Cen Huai'an and Jiang Weixian.

Cen Zhengnian and Chu Xia sat together on a nearby bench. He took the flowers from her hand and helped hold them while smiling, watching the energetic actions of Cen Huai'an and the other kids.

Zhang Lu directed them to pose, and Cen Huai'an's eyes showed an expression of not wanting to participate, but he obediently followed Zhang Lu's instructions, with no trace of a smile on his face.

Pointing at Cen Huai'an, Chu Xia said, "Zhengnian, look at An'an's expression. It's so cute."

Cen Zhengnian nodded, and the smile in his eyes deepened. "When An'an is with Lu Lu and the others, he looks most like a child."

Chu Xia agreed, looking at him and saying, "Let's buy a camera for our home. I want to document our family's life, create an album to reminisce about the beautiful moments in the future."

"Sure."

Cen Zhengnian never opposed Chu Xia's decisions unless they were genuinely unreasonable.

"By the way, how come you had time to come to school for my graduation ceremony today?"

Chu Xia looked curiously at Cen Zhengnian, as he had been quite busy lately, and she hadn't expected him to attend.
