"Mayank proposed to me!!!", said Ishan while hugging me partially, his eyes glittered with excitement.

"It isss!! We went for a walk downstairs and in the park, he picked out this lavender for me and asked me to be his boyfriend", said Ishan with a red hue plastered over his face and a bunch of lavenders in his hand, the scent agonizing me, for lord knows what reason.
"Yeah.. they're nice, I'm happy for you Ishan..! Let's get to bed alright?"
"Yeah!"
I carried him to our bed and tucked him in. As I crept into the blanket, I couldn't help but feel a heavy weight on my chest..
I waited till Ishan felt asleep, then removing his hand from my chest, I slowly walked into the balcony, puffing out air and heavy sighs.
My breathing quivered. I was happy for Ishan, very happy for him, but I couldn't help but feel a fear of Ishan's heart being vulnerable in a sense of love to someone. Someone else.
I am not in love with him, don't get me wrong readers, but I just feel very protective over that soul.

And I could burn the world for him.
I stood on the balcony for a few minutes, then I searched up, on google, the meanings of flowers-

I put my phone back in pocket and dropping all the tension, laid beside Ishan and wrapped him up in my arms.
He's my closest friend. And I'll let nothing in the world hurt him.
